It may still be the lazy, hazy days of summer, but around here
it’s time to get up and get busy! Our FESTIVAL is August 19.
There will be many opportunities to volunteer to help the day
of the event, but also keep in mind that ice cream making is
August 13th at 4 p.m. in Vaden Hall and set up night is
Thursday August 17th. Each family is asked to make at least
one donation to the auction (something for home/garden,
antiques, tools, children’s games/toys, collectibles, gift cards, etc.) or a donation to the
Bake Sale including canned goods or garden vegetables. Please do not bring “yard sale”
items to be placed in the Silent Auction, they do not sell and take up space! We already
anticipate and appreciate your gifts! Tickets are now available for sale in the Narthex.
Remember this event gives us an opportunity to open the doors to the community for fun
and fellowship and raise extra funds for important ministries. Can we count on YOU?
—Sarah Lillard, Festival Chair

To everyone at Epworth Church,
Thank you all so so much for the love and support you have shown our family. We
loved the Choir singing at the funeral and we also really enjoyed the lunch at the
church afterwards. It is clear how much Judith was loved by all of you. Thank you.
Much love, Boyd & Susan McLean
Thank You for Supporting VBS!
Hero Central VBS was an amazing and blessed week filled with energy and excite-
ment. The children were captivated by the skits and activities as they learned
about some of our favorite Biblical heroes. A huge thank you to the fantastic forty
plus adults and twenty youth who volunteered to make the week so special and
memorable for 52 children of our church and community. You helped nurture our
children’s faith through your care and love. Thank you to everyone who gave dona-
tions for Project Transformation. We collected 3 huge tubs of snacks and school
supplies. Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for VBS. God is good.
Blessings, Angie
