SANCTUARY LAMPS AND ALTAR FLOWER MEMORIALS: If you would like to memorialize the Sanctuary candle in the Church, the Adoration Chapel or the Altar flowers, please contact the parish office with your request. The suggested offering for the Sanctuary candles are $ 25 each and the Altar Flowers are $100 for both.

R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation) is the process by which adults become members of the Catholic Church. Classes are held on Thursdays from 7– 8:30 pm from September to Pentecost. Please call the Parish office at 570.374.4113 for additional information.

RECITATION OF THE ROSARY: 25 minutes prior to all Masses. Rosary Prayer Group meets Tuesday at 7 pm (Chapel);

ST. PIUS X PASTORAL COUNCIL: Council members meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the lower level (except July and December). Pastoral Council meeting minutes are available in the parish office for review.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: The 4th degree, St. Katharine Drexel Assembly meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the lower level. The regular meeting of the Knights of Columbus is held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm in the lower level. Please check with the Knights for any revised meeting times.

Matthew 13:24-43. “The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word but then the cares of the world and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.” - Matthew 13:22 Does the lure of riches and material goods choke God out of your life? Are you so caught up in earthly activities that you have no time for God? Gratitude and generosity are virtues that we should strive to do on a daily basis. Every decision we make either takes us one step closer to God or one step further away. What we receive at Mass every Sunday should be shared with others all the other days of the week as well.

Our Families

We pray that today’s families may be accompanied with love, respect and guidance.

St. Pius X will celebrate Mass on Saturdays at 5 pm and Sundays at 10 am.

Daily Mass will be celebrated at 9 am in the Adoration Chapel unless social distancing cannot be maintained. In that case, it will be celebrated in the Church.

Masks should be worn at Mass and lowered prior to receiving Holy Communion.

Please remember that dispensation from the Sunday Obligation and Holy Days of Obligations hereby continues to be granted and remains in effect until further notice.

If you don’t feel comfortable attending Mass at this time, the faithful are encouraged to continue to keep holy the Lord’s Day with prayer and reflection.

family. However, one with our brothers and sisters at St. Pius X Parish, and with

Act of Spiritual Communion Explaining that Jesus will come to anyone who invites Him, the family

then recites together the Act of Spiritual Communion followed by a period of quiet prayer.

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Thanksgiving After a period of silence, the following Psalm is recited together. Psalm 116 I trusted, even when I said: "I am sorely afflicted," and when I said in my alarm: "No man can be trusted."

How can I repay the Lord for his goodness to me? The cup of salvation I will raise; I will call on the Lord's name. My vows to the Lord I will fulfill before all his people.

The Robert C. Lindquist Educational Scholarship Knights of Columbus, St. Katharine Drexel Assembly #2641 4th Degree Knights

Children and grandchildren of “Knights of Columbus Assembly 2641" Scholarships are awarded annually to children of current dues-paying 4th Degree Knight members in the organization to attend a degree granting post-secondary school on a full-time basis (12 or more credits) for the entire academic year as undergraduate/graduate-level students. There is one $750 scholarship being awarded. Students must apply each year. They may re-apply and re-compete every year for an annual scholarship. Applicant must be a child/grandchild of a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Assembly #2641 in good standing for at least the past year. The Robert C. Lindquist Educational Grant is based on merit. The scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, leadership, and demonstrated achievement. The submission deadline is July 31, 2020.
