FIFTY-FOURDAY

NOVENA AT SEA

DUC IN ALTUM

(Put Out Into the Deep)

ABOUT THE ROWWhy row 3000 miles across the North Atlantic from New York to Ireland?Too few are praying the Rosary and living the Message of Fatima. The condition of the world today reflects that reality. This row is dedicated to inspiring children and families who do not have a relationship with Our Blessed Mother to begin praying the Rosary. We also hope to grow Our Lady’s Blue Army by uniting the faithful to engage in the spiritual battle that has been waged against us. School children in every Catholic school throughout the world will be invited to join us in praying a 54 Day Novena while we are out to sea. Modern technologies will enable us to give classrooms access to live video and images from the expedition.

Do you have support? The mission will be supported by the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA and the Covington Diocese World Apostolate of Fatima Division to help spread the Message of Fatima.

What is the name of the boat? The boat will be named Santa Maria de la Fatima, Our Lady Star of the Sea in honor of Our Blessed Mother.

Is it dangerous? There is always risk when embarking on a journey like this, but today’s advanced ocean row boats with newer construction materials, satellite phones, and positioning technologies have increased the level of safety considerably. The number one rule in ocean rowing is to stay with your boat!

Will you be supporting a cause?Funds raised from the row will establish Our Lady of Fatima Youth and Family Ranch as a 501 (c) 3. The purpose of the Ranch will be to form men, women, and children in the Message of Fatima. Beautifully situated on 100 acres in a natural setting, it will be God’s special place where children and their families can unplug from the distractions of the world to hear God’s voice. The faithful are encouraged to sponsor a mile by visiting our website: www.covdiobluearmy.com.

Who will be rowing? The row will be led by Greg Dougherty, a former small business owner and rugby player. Greg is a full time missionary, also serving as the President of the Covington Diocese World Apostolate of Fatima Division. In 2007, Greg had a profound conversion which brought him back to his Catholic faith. Less than a year later, he experienced the effects of Hurricane Bertha while in an ocean row boat 100 miles off the coast of Barbados. Greg currently resides in Covington, KY, and hopes to enter the seminary to pursue a vocation to the priesthood after the row. He will be supported by two incredible athletes. Danny O’Brien lives outside of Dublin, Ireland and serves for the Irish Air Force. Danny served two years for the Irish Defense Forces specializing in reconnaissance. He is an endurance athlete who has competed in several marathons and ultra-marathons. Danny is an expert whitewater kayaker having kayaked class 5 and class 6 rapids descending 80 ft. waterfalls and leading kayaking expeditions up to 100 km / day. Danny kayaked for the Irish National Team. Gerald Sargent lives in England and serves for the Royal Marines. He has spent 11 tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and various places around the world. Gerald is also an endurance athlete who swam the English Channel and, in 2010, climbed to the summit of Mt. Everest. He is an expert in communications and knows how to survive the harshest of conditions.

PRAYER OF ST. BRENDAN“Help me to journey beyond the familiar

and into the unknown.Give me the faith to leave old waysand break fresh ground with You.

Christ of the mysteries, I trust Youto be stronger than each storm within me.

I will trust in the darkness and knowthat my times, even now, are in Your hand.

Tune my spirit to the music of heaven, and somehow, make my obedience count for You.”

AMEN.

In a most incredible effort to lift Our Lady of Fatima up to the world during this Jubilee year of Fatima, three men will attempt to row 3000 miles across the frigid North Atlantic Ocean from N.Y. to Ireland this June, 2017 as part of a 54 Day Novena at Sea. Greg, Danny, and Gerald will set off early in June, 2017 to row across the North Atlantic in a bold effort to spread Our Lady’s Message of Fatima during this Jubilee Year. These men consider the row to be an act of penance that will help bring peace, not only to themselves, but to the world.Few are aware that the Church has declared 2017 to be a Jubilee Year of Fatima. The purpose for the row is twofold. First and foremost, it is intended to promote Our Lady’s Message of Fatima as God’s Peace Plan for the world. Secondly, the World Apostolate of Fatima will use this expedition to raise funds for establishing Our Lady of Fatima Youth and Family Ranch. The Ranch will be God’s special place where children and their families will be unplugged and formed in the Message of Fatima. The World Apostolate of Fatima hopes to use this expedition to unite over one million Catholics in praying the Rosary. History has shown that when Catholics respond in force, especially in praying the Rosary, we can expect a miracle. To make this mission a success, we kindly ask for you to consider making a donation. We have raised $16,000 of the $100,000.00 needed for the specially designed row boat, equipment, satellite positioning technology, travel expenses, and training / certification. Donations are tax exempt and can be made online at: www.covdiobluearmy.com. Checks can be made out to WAF, USA. Please send checks to: P.O. Box 73012, Bellevue, KY 41073. Keep us in your prayers!

“God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.”

“Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths in many waters: and thy footsteps shall not be known.”

- Psalm 76:20
