As you do your spring cleaning, PLEASE consider donating good garage sale items (no clothes or shoes, please) to this Billings based non-profit organization that reaches out to those infected or affected by HIV/Aids, both locally and in Uganda, Africa. Your donations may be dropped off or we can pick up. Tax deductible receipts are available upon request. Volunteers are also needed! Kids can not be un-chaperoned or with a lone adult on the premises for obvious reasons. The only exemption — a parent or par- ent sanctioned grandparent. ADULTS: If you are a St Anthony Church approved facilitator at any church activity, class, or function, there must be 2 adult supervisors available with the children at all times . You must also have completed the diocesan Virtus Program and be in compliance with it to work with our youth. 1st Sunday of the Month is always Community Hope Food Barrel Sunday! It’s hard to believe that in our country ( in Laurel) there are families in need — but there are. If you have extra or want to give out of your own need do what our new Pope Francis asks us to do— be a church for the poor. I have a friend who grouses every time he sees a call for help for the poor. His main premise is that “...in this great country of ours everyone has a chance to work. Anyone can better themselves if they work hard enough. ” He even told me once that “a little hunger goes a long way toward dad getting up off the couch to dig the potatoes.” The truth is that at one point we all need a helping hand. Scripture tells us that even the prodigal son would have died without the husks that his master’s hogs wouldn’t eat. Yes there are “government places” to get aid. Yes, there are folks who take advantage. So what? Perhaps you can’t fix it—but you can feed a child! And as the young man who helped carry victims away from the Boston bombing this week stated,“ That is why when someone needs help, when the chips are down, they ( badness) will never win. We are Americans and we care.” So we haven’t asked for food for quite a while. Betty and Bob Saxbury are two devoted parishioners who give there time and talent and money to FILL THE BARREL. Where there is hunger let’s be part of filling the need. Where there is worry about how to feed the kids for the last week of every month—let St Anthony parishioners be the answer. We can fill those empty shelves with loads of love in the form of nutrition. Bring any non-perishable items to mass and Fill the Barrel at the main church entrance. And remember you don’t need to deliver the goods once a month. Practice the gift of (Food Love) every Sunday! HOPE IS CONTAGIOUS - SPREAD SOME TODAY!

BE

CAREFUL

WHERE YOU

PARK

We have a huge lot on

the side, the rear of the

church, and on the

street but folks still park in front of other’s drive-

ways and garages. Sorry but if your car is on the

east side of the street you will be ticketed.

If we love our brothers and sisters we shouldn’t be

a constant irritation to them. On Saturday eve-

nings and Sunday mornings during mass these

particular residents have had to call the police

more than once and the cars have been ticketed.

ALSO remember that unless you have special per-

mission to park in FATHER’S DRIVEWAY there

have been many times that you have blocked

in other priest’s staying with him.

PLEASE BE courteous, Yes, mass is short but

you should NEVER block another’s vehicle exit.

On April 17th during his ferverino Pope Francis

said: “Let us ask the Lord, for the

grace to become baptized

persons who are brave and sure that

the Holy Spirit ( who is in us & re-

ceived at baptism, ) always moves us

to proclaim Jesus Christ with our life,

our testimony and even with our words”.

Veni Sancte Spiritus

Come, Holy Spirit, send forth the heavenly radiance of your

light. Come, father of the poor, come, giver of gifts, come,

light of the heart. Greatest comforter, sweet guest of the

soul, sweet consolation. In labor, rest, in heat, temperance, in

tears, solace. O most blessed light, fill the inmost heart of

your faithful. Without your grace, there is nothing in us, noth-

ing that is not harmful. Cleanse that which is unclean, water

that which is dry, heal that which is wounded. Bend that

which is inflexible, fire that which is chilled, correct what goes

astray. Give to your faithful, those who trust in you, the seven-

fold gifts. Grant the reward of virtue, grant the deliverance of

salvation, grant eternal joy. AMEN
