Choral Anthem

“The Lord is My Shepherd” Psalm 23 Music by Thomas Matthews

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,

He maketh me to down to lie down in green

pastures;

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul;

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness

for His name’s sake..

Yea, though I walk through the

valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me;

Thy Rod and Staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me

in the presence of mine enemies;

Thou anointest my head with oil;

My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

all the days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Guide Book Directory Advertising Opportunity

We are in the process of updating our annual Guide Book Directory for the church. This book will contain a complete directory of all members. This book is being provided and direct-mailed to each family at no cost to our church, and it is again being subsidized by local businesses that advertise. If you own or manage a business and would like to find out about advertising in our book, please call the Church Office.

Update Membership Information Does our Church database have YOUR

family membership record correct?

Here is your chance to update YOUR record for our annual Guide Book & Directory (if you haven’t already done so).

It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year.

Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children still at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you want your record published?

If you have not already informed the Church Office about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the information in the Guide Book & Directory is correct. The Church Office number is 335-2826 or email: [email protected]. Thanks for your help!

UMW Mission Moment Stella is 38 years old and lost her husband in February through a tragic road accident, leaving her with a pregnancy of three months and two children, and she tested HIV positive. She joined Pregnant and Lactating Women Living with HIV and Aids. This was a critical time in Stella's life, when she turned to the Lord and has continued praising and giving thanks to God for being alive.

Behind the Prison Wall Many of you have heard the story of Epiphany Ministries. 25 female prisoners (no older than 30) who applied are selected by the prison chaplain to participate in a life changing event. The weekend is very similar to an Emmaus Weekend, except the volunteer team members return to their home each evening. The message of Jesus Christ is presented to the girls. FUMC members that serving on the Dayton Correctional Institute #9 are: Mike Bartik, Richard Shepherd, Bob and Gloria Parker. The weekend dates are April 22-24. We cherish your partnership with us. First, pray – pray for the girls, pray for DCI and finally the team members. Also, please sign a prayer slip. Each slip is cut and taped together to form a chain which becomes visible evidence to the girls that they are being prayed for by hundreds of people. This makes you a powerful part of the weekend. Signing is simply a promise to pray for DCI #9 at some time over the weekend. Please see one of the volunteers in the Gathering Room. Also, if you care to contribute to offset the over $3,000 expense to conduct the weekend, a jar is waiting for your gift. Thank you so much!
