STEM CAMP AT BORAMBOLA This morning four senior Indigenous students
travelled to Borambola to take part in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics youth camp. The boys were keen to participate in the 3 day camp accompanied by Mr Lucas. They will be
returning on Wednesday afternoon.
INDIGENOUS DANCE
On Tuesday nine students will be travelling to Tolland Public School to attend an Indigenous Dance workshop. This is a great opportunity for our students to work with specialists and students from around our region. A big thank you to Bec and Pat Connolly who will be transporting the students along with Mrs Manns.
SPELLING BEE
What a wonderful Spelling Bee competition Stage 3 and Stage 2 were able to participate in at Franklin Public School. Over 40 students from both stages participated in the competition this year. Mrs Wood facilitated the proceedings with eager audience members waiting to see who the eventual winners would be. A great effort to all the students who participated this year with a special mention to Jayde Randall and Chloe Doon from Stage 3 and Zac Casey and Chloe Martin from Stage 2 who have advanced to the Regional Spelling Bee being held in September.

ROCK AND WATER A group of students have started the Rock and Water program, engaging in some great physical activities. These activities are designed to teach them resilience and assertiveness. The lessons are taking place on Tuesday afternoons and already students cannot wait to engage in some more follow up activities and lessons. Rock and Water will run for the remainder of the year.
CRAZY HAIR DAY What an amazing group effort from the parents, staff and students for Crazy Hair Day! Thank you to all the parents who provided colour spray cans and Zooper Doopers for this day! The student leaders took responsibility not only for the efficient running of the day but the organisation of the day as well. Well done on their outstanding effort! The day ran smoothly and we certainly had some very creative and crazy hair styles. Congratulations to all the students who participated and joined us in raising some money for the sensory room being established at Gadara!
During this term Mr Crane, Mr Takats and 1 Hume have been challenging themselves with
‘Movement in Maths’ activities by utilising Franklin Public School’s fantastic outdoor
learning areas.
Technology has the power to transform education as students learn to use resources at hand to discover, create and evolve their learning daily. At Franklin Public School we are fortunate enough to have access to numerous types of technology to assist in this transformation from K-6. This helps our students to become engaged and active participants in the classroom and across all subjects.
WE LOVE TECHNOLOGY AT FRANKLIN!
