Student Voice
Jewin-Alexis Cook and Riley Johns are our roving reporters this
week for Student Voice. They are talking about ANZAC Day and
what’s been happening at Franklin.
Riley: Jewin-Alexis:
Hi my name is Jewin Alexis Cooke and I am in Year 5. I love drawing and writing stories, I also like playing golf and swimming. Last week was the first week of Term 2 and it was amazing. It was fun to go back to school and I was happy to see my friends again! Last week teachers sent home tickets for the Mother’s day raffle. This is a P&C fundraiser and all money raised goes toward supporting the many great things the P&C organise for us all. I’d like to say good luck to everyone who has entered. Next week the Year 3 and 5 students will be doing NAPLAN, after all the practicing we’ve been doing for the past few weeks. Good luck to all. I interviewed Max Beaven about the Riverina Rugby League trials that happened in Leeton this week. He said that he went with Linkin Fell and Riley Dowell and had a great time, he also said that they played four games in total and won one of the games and had fun. When asked what he has learnt from participating in sport Max said “sport reminds everyone to not give up!” Inspiring words from Max!
Hi, my name is Riley Johns I am in Year 5. I love playing sport, and I have been playing it since I was 5 years of age. I also like the gym equipment a lot and love playing with my friends because we always joke around. My teacher is Mr. Woodward he is extremely fun in class. My favourite subject is science. ANZAC DAY is a special ceremony where we all gather to respect the ANZACs, have a minutes silence and listen to The Ode, The Reveille, The Last Post and the national anthem. The citizens of Tumut gathered before dawn at Richmond Park on the 25/4/19 for the Dawn service. School Captain, Preston Loneragan, attended along with staff and other student leaders. He was honoured to read the names of those from Tumut who had fought in wars that Australia was involved in. This was his first ANZAC Day service and he said it was a very special occasion.

What’s happening at Tumut School’s As Community Centres:
Over the first few weeks of term 2 we'll be celebrating Autumn and the Festival of the Falling Leaf at Tumut Schools as Community Centre! We've implemented an Autumn discovery area, brimming with all things natural to our environment
to encourage imagination and a greater understanding and appreciation of the world we live in. Last week we dot painted some amazing colourful leaves and got busy creating mothers day gifts for mum's and nan's for Mothers Day. This week
we'll be collaging cards with buttons, creating Autumn tree's and so much more. Come along and share the fun!
