OPERATION RECOMMENDATIONS

1. DO Make sure the lowering device is fully functional before use and always check the grave site perimeter for potential safety hazards. 2. DO Make sure the lowering device looks presentable. Remember, the cemetery only gets one attempt at a first impression. It should reflect who and what the cemetery represents: professionals with genuine compassion for the families they serve. 3. DO Make sure the cemetery crew is properly trained and know what to do when a challenging safety situation arises. 4. DO Implement a safety operation check list, especially with new hires. 5. DO Make sure the brake on the lowering device is in the off position when not in use. The brake tension spring will last longer. This will also minimize strap and side rail wear, there is no reason to keep the straps tightened when the lowering device is not in use. 6. DO Make sure the lowering device is inspected quarterly, and at least once a year by a Frigid-certified technician. IMPORTANT: If any device appears to have a malfunction, immediately take it out of service and call Frigid to have it scheduled for repair.

1. DO NOT Use the lowering device to raise a casket back up. 2. DO NOT Leave the lowering device unattended while in use, especially the A HEAD where the crank handle and brake are located. 3. DO NOT Over-tighten the straps. This can cause the side rails to warp over time and affect the performance of the lowering device, in turn, causing a potential safety hazard. 4. DO NOT Place heavy boards, cemetery equipment, or metal tracks on top of the lowering device or throw or toss the lowering device. This can damage or compromise the lowering mechanism of the device. 5. DO NOT Let an unqualified person work on the lowering device. It could: void the warranty on a new lowering device, waste time and money, or do damage to the lowering device.

LUBRICATIONThe governor brake assembly should be oiled with SAE 30 weight motor oil when the lowering device becomes noisy, and or, inconsistent in the lowering process. For example, if the device starts and stops or has to be cranked down with the handle. Drop a liberal amount of oil between the governor brake disc and the governor disc. The best area to drop the oil is pointed out on the diagram below. Regular lubrication should be performed once every 2 to 3 months.

GOVERNOR MAINTENANCEThe governor brake disc may have to be adjusted from time to time depending on the amount of use. In general, the adjustment should be made when the lowering process becomes too fast, and or, lubrication has failed to stop any noises. If this is the case, proceed with the following steps.

1. Start with the governor set screw. Loosen the hex nut, turn the screw clockwise until tight. Next, turn the screw counter clockwise a half turn and tighten the hex nut. This will allow proper clearance for the governor shaft to spin freely on the steel balls.

2. Move to the governor studs. Loosen both hex nuts. Turn the studs counter clockwise until the brake disc leather touches the governor disc, or until a slight resistance is felt. Next, turn the studs clockwise one and a half turns and tighten the hex nuts. This will allow proper clearance for the governor disc to spin freely and the lowering device to lower at the proper speed.

STORAGEStore upright and on the ground. Store inside. If the device gets wet or rained on, be sure to dry it off with a rag.



Frigid Fluid Co. warrants that Frigid Fluid Co.’s products, parts, components, uses or applications (collectively, the “Product”), insofar as it is manufactured by Frigid Fluid Co. or its subcontractor(s), will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months from date of shipment by Frigid Fluid Co. (“Warranty Period”). Frigid Fluid Co.’s obligation under this warranty, and the purchaser’s exclusive remedy for the breach thereof, shall be limited to Frigid Fluid Co.’s correction of any defect in material or workmanship by, at Frigid Fluid Co.’s option, (a) providing repair or replacement part(s) for Product F.O.B. Frigid Fluid Co.’s factory, or (b) repairing any defective part(s); provided, however, that the purchaser shall be responsible for providing Frigid Fluid Co. with free and safe working access to said defective parts. In no event, however, is Frigid Fluid Co.’s obligation to exceed the replacement cost of the defective part(s) F.O.B. Frigid Fluid Co.’s factory. Frigid Fluid Co. shall have the option of requiring the return of any defective part, transportation charges prepaid, before considering any warranty claim. This warranty shall not apply to any Product (1) which has suffered corrosion, erosion or chemical deterioration for any reason, whether or not due to the action or inaction of the purchaser, and specifically excluding any damage to the Product resulting from the failure by the purchaser to oil the Product in a manner which is consistent with the directions for care of the Product provided by Frigid Fluid Co. to the purchaser; (2) which has been subjected by persons other than Frigid Fluid Co. to improper handling, erection, operation, maintenance, and repair, or to misuse, negligence or accident; (3) which has not been repaired, refurbished, rebuilt or otherwise refitted with Frigid Fluid Co. manufactured and supplied straps or mechanical, structural or other replacement parts; (4) been which has been altered by persons other than Frigid Fluid Co. in any manner so as, in Frigid Fluid Co.’s judgment, to affect its serviceability or proper operation; or (5) which has been purchased through a non-authorized Frigid reseller. Any Product repaired or replaced pursuant to this Warranty shall be warranted as herein provided for the unexpired portion of the warranty applying to the original Product.

THE FOREGOING CONSTITUTES FRIGID FLUID CO.’S SOLE RESPONSIBILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRODUCT, AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE WARRANTY HEREINBEFORE PROVIDED, AND NONE SHALL BE IMPLIED BY LAW WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT.
