Announcing the ^**c

CIS Legislative History Service collect and organize the

items that make up a legislative history is difficult, time-consuming, and expen- sive. Yet legislative histories can be essential to any legal professional who needs to understand the statutory in- tent and meaning of public laws.

The CIS Legislative History Service offers a solution to the tedium of compiling legis- lative histories. Beginning with the current (97th) Con- gress, the CIS Service covers virtually every significant public law. What's more, the Service provides histories that are complete, timely, consistently accurate, and easy-to-use. CIS legislative histories are expertly edited. An experi- enced law librarian, assisted by an editorial advisory com- mittee made up of experts in the field, selects the laws to be covered by the Service and the publications to be in- cluded in each law's history.

Every CIS history is a com- pletely integrated information unit. Each history provides: • Full citations to all official

publications pertaining to the law's enactment, from current and prior Con- gresses.

• Abstracts of the law and of selected congressional publications relating to its consideration and passage by the House and Senate;

• Complete texts of all of- ficial publications cited in the law's documentary record; and,

• Finding aids for easy iden- tification and selection of specific items in each his- tory's collection.

There are flexible purchase options. Choose from two classes of annual subscrip- tion. Or, purchase individual histories "on-demand" in a choice of formats . . . micro- fiche, paper copy, or a combi- nation of the two.
