Classification of Gasses

1st family : town gas, rarely used nowadaysGroup a

2nd family : natural gasGroup H (high Wobbe index)Group L (low Wobbe index)Group E (new group, includíng H and part of L)

3rd family : LPG (= Liquefied Petroleum Gas)Group B/P (butane-propane mix)Group B (butan)Group P (Propan)

Appliance Categories

Category I : appliance suitable for only one gas familyCategory II : appliance suitable for 2 gas familiesCategory III : appliance suitable for all (3) gas families

5

Nominal Power

When converting the appliance for another type or pressure of gas it is essential not to exceed the nominal power of the burnerNominal power = volumetric flow rate × heat value (for practical reasons, calorific value can‘t be used in cookingappliances )

higher heat value (to be exact higher Wobbe index)or higher pressurehave to be compensated by a smaller cross section

6

Gas Nozzles

The nozzle is not cylindrical but has a longitudinal profile meant to optimize combustion and noise

11

Conversion to Another Gas

First checkappliance category for the respective country conversion instructions in the user manual

to decide whether the required conversion is technically possibleand legally permitted in the respective country

12

Conversion to Another Gas

e.g. conversion to LPG (30 or 50 mbar) technically possibleallowed in D, I, GB, FR, but not in NL

13

Umstellung auf anderes Gas

To change the type of gas it is only necessary:to change the main nozzles to adjust the by-pass in order to obtain a stable flame on the lowest settingonly for LPG 50 mbar it is necessary to change the by-pass toostick conversion label to appliance

primary air adjustment is neither required nor possible on the Electrolux burners

14

Conversion to Another Gas

Change main nozzle Adjust by-pass(replace only in special cases required by instruction)
