MEET THE STAFF

Martin & Christine Trench came to Canada from Scotland nearly 3 years ago, to serve at Gateway. Martin is our Lead Pastor, and is our main Teacher and Visionary. He has a passion to present the scriptures in a clear and life-affirming way, and see people set free from limiting beliefs, and come into an experience of the Abundant Life that God offers through faith in Jesus Christ. Martin has degrees in Pastoral Ministry and Philosophy and is a Doctor of Theology.

Christine Trench is an ideas-person with a passion to find new ways to improve the church in a number of areas, but especially our Scenic Design and strategic planning. She loves books about dreams, visions, and near-death-experiences.

Brad Guldemond is our Pastor of Worship & Creative Arts and Youth & Young Adults. Brad has a passion for helping people experience freedom and wholeness through music, a positive community, and inspirational teaching. He has a Bachelor of Church Music from Briercrest College. Kirsten Glidden is our Pastor of Community Life. She loves helping people connect to the church through friendships and serving teams. She also does some teaching, and does life coaching. Deanne has a passion for knowing and growing kids, and mentoring teachers. Over the last 22 years, she taught grades 1-6, piloted special education programs, mentored student teachers and led best practices teams. “My greatest joy is seeing a child’s potential unfold and God’s purpose fulfilled – ‘Only God knows how many apples are in a seed.’”

Michael Clayton heads up the Media Team here at Gateway in the areas of graphic design, web design, video creation and editing and lighting. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge having worked in the design industry for years and is excited about using his creativity to serve God and the church.

the weekly celebration

oin us this Fall season for an exciting new message series, Winning at the Game of Life.J

In any sport or game, there are rules to follow, there is commitment and training required to achieve your full potential, there is the team work required to multiply your individual strengths, there are goals to be achieved and there is a prize to win. Winning at sports is serious business!

But a game is also supposed to be enjoyable, personally fulfilling, FUN! Life is like that – in some ways it is serious business, but it should never stop being fun. Your Faith, your Family life, your Finances and career – they all follow certain rules, they all require effort and team work, and they are all supposed to be enjoyable and fulfilling.

Come and learn the secrets of success for winning at the game of life!

“Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” (1 Corinthians 9:24)

gateway kidsevery sunday like summer camp

A t Gateway, kids matter! They are respected for the way God created them. He made them

so that they love to play, discover, question and have fun, and He made them so they learn while doing. Every experience here at Gateway Kids has an eternal purpose behind it. Curriculum from My First Look (preschool), Kidzmatter Kitchen (gr2-4) and Grapple (grades 5-6) provide engaging and interactive experiences for our kids.

Age Groups

Nursery Age // 0 - 18 months

Jr. Preschool // 18 months - 3 years

At Gateway we take our kids safety seriously.

All workers are screened and trained in Plan to Protect Policies.

Parents, please create a KidCheck Profile at:

Or use your smartphone QR code reader to scan the code opposite and take you straight to the website.

God made kids to form their foundation of values and beliefs at this time in their lives. As they grow, they want to know what you believe, want to know why you believe it and want to see how you live it. Each Sunday we’ll dig into the narratives from the Bible and see how each one applies to our 21st century kid world. And, we’ll do it all with age-appropriate child development at the heart of each lesson.

Gateway Kids will CONNECT with an open heart (Mark 12:29-31), GROW in body, mind and spirit (Romans 12:2), SERVE with willing hands (1Peter 4:10-11) and GO with ready feet (Matthew 28:19-20).

We want kids to be so connected at Gateway that THEY bring their PARENTS to church!
