Ladies and Gentlemen,
My name is Brian Canny. The purpose of this letter is to introduce myself to you and your families. My soon to be wifes name is Stacie Gallenstein and we share four doggies that are our children. We are honored and thrilled to join the Headhunter company family. We recently arrived from Fort
Benning, GA, where we served with 4th Ranger Training Battalion.
As a Company Commander I am responsible for providing a vision for our company. Our vision is a
critical description that defines our goals and objectives, our character and collective identity:
A proud, physically fit, disciplined, and safe company comprised of agile, adaptive, and responsive professionals each of whom are creative thinkers who pursue inno-vative operations. Events both desirable and undesirable are an opportunity to excel. We are values-based and characterized by platoons and sections that can operate ef-fectively across the full spectrum of conflict. We are equally characterized by a team of strong families able to function effectively in garrison and while deployed. We will
strive to be team players and always treat others as part of the family.
It is important to me that families are well informed, confident in their spouses leadership, and fully aware of the garrison and local community support systems designed to help Army families. To that end, we will disseminate information as it is received through the proper channels. The Company FRG will meet once a month; your FRG will publish their respective meeting dates, times, and locations. The purpose of the meeting are to update you on the unit and companys administrative, training, and deployment schedules, disseminate important information from our post and local communities, and to solicit feedback from
across the company. I encourage both you and your spouse to attend.
Children are welcome at any meeting but free childcare will be provided if we find that there is a need prior to the meeting. If you prefer to leave your children at home, we will release your sponsor to drive home and watch the children so you can attend. If the spouse cannot attend,
the Soldier will attend to collect and bring home the information distributed at the meeting.
Lastly, I think it is important to define the FRG and reiterate its purpose so that we all can enjoy a common understanding of the FRGs role and responsibilities. Paraphrasing DA Pamphlet 608-47, the FRG is an organization of Family members, volunteers, Soldiers, and civilian employees belonging to a unit/organization who together provide an avenue of mutual support and assistance and a network of communication among the members, the chain of command, and community resources. The FRG mission is to assist commanders in maintaining readiness of Soldiers, families, and communities within the Army by promoting self-sufficiency, resiliency, and stability during peace and war. FRGs are critical to achieving our company vision, and I encourage each of you to participate with the FRG.
I am honored and excited to join the team and look forward to meeting and working with you in the
coming months.

Issue 11 & 12
Jan./Feb. 2010
Hi Folks,
Well here we are once again, another new year and OCR is getting ready for another birthday.
The holiday shipment went off without a hitch, making a lot of soldiers very happy! Not only did we ship to the Gulf, but we
also hit Africa, Asia and South America. All were very happy and thankful, and we were glad to help.
Its hard to believe were talking about April already but we are. On April 10 & 11 at the Westin Boston Waterfront, 425
Summer Street, Boston from 10am 5 pm, the Boston Comic Con will take place. Once again we are thankful to the folks at
Boston Comic Con for allowing us to attend to do some fundraising. As usual, we will not be collecting comics that day; well just
be doing fundraising for postage.
For more information about the event, please visit their website at http://www.bostoncomiccon.com.
As for the postal issue, were still working on it with the help of Congressman Markeys office. OCRs visit to Landstuhl Regional
Medical Center in Germany is slowly coming to fruition. If all goes as planned, well be walking
the halls of the hospital hand delivering comics to our soldiers! As always I want to thank all of
our supporters both old and new. You folks make this all possible.
Until next time,
Chris
