Merry Christmas, Team Grace!! As Christians, we know that the celebration of the Lord’s Birth is not only one day, but is a several week celebration! Today, we continue our solemn observance of the Lord’s presence among us by honoring the family that welcomed him. Today is Holy Family Sunday and we especially give our hearts to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
On this Sunday, every Christian family is also honored! Every Christian family is invited to welcome the Lord and to deepen in it’s own commitment to him. Happy Feast Day!
This coming Friday is our monthly Nocturnal Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament through the night! I ask that every parishioner please come by at some point in the night to join the rest of the parish in prayer. What a tremendous gift the Blessed Sacrament is to us! Please come and offer up some prayers and intentions to God!
As our parish has processed some recent large payments and gifts, I want to stress that these have all been taken from capital campaign or restricted funds. They have all been spent according to how they have been received by the community and/or by the intention of specific donors. None of these funds were taken from our regular offertory.
As I mention the regular offertory, I do ask that you please give generously to it. It’s the regular offertory that helps us to run the daily operations and programs of the parish. As I thank so many parishioners for their generosity to the capital campaign or for specific large gifts, I also want to highlight our weekly offertory, which is in great need of additional support.
As our regular offertory does not meet our budget, we are forced to make cuts, suspend programs, reduce staff, and/or diminish services as a parish. And so, please support our regular offertory!
As a reminder, New Year’s Day is the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, which is a Holy Day of Obligation. You will find our Mass schedule in this bulletin. I look forward to starting 2020 with you at the altar of God!
As you make your New Year’s resolutions, please remember your spiritual life. Going to Confession on a regular basis, working on your prayer life, and reading the Bible daily are some really good resolutions!
