SHABBAT WITH RABBA ANAT As was emailed out this week, the Bayit is significantly expanding the 2015-2016 half-time role Rabba Anat has been assuming and is hiring for a new full-time female clergy position to begin this summer. A search committee has worked on this process in recent weeks. Finalists will each be invited to join us for a tryout Shabbat consisting of the drasha on Shabbat morning and a shiur between Mincha and Maariv. The community will have a chance to offer feedback to the Committee following each Shabbat and over the coming few weeks in general. focusing on prayer and the weekly Torah portion led by Rav Ari,

Rabbinic Intern Bracha Jaffe, and other members of the rabbinic team.

Riverdale Mikvah Hours: Sunday - Thursday: 8:00pm - 10:00pm.

Friday night: 40 minutes after candle lighting. No appointment is

necessary but please be on time. Mikvah attendant will be there for 15 min.

Saturday night: 8:45pm - 10:15pm

Keilim Mikvah: Open during daylight hours.

For the duration of the construction project, only two shower

preparation rooms at the Mikvah will be accessible. While we hope that

there will be no change in the current hours of operation, we recommend

that you call ahead (718-549-8336) to see if there is any wait time for a

room. For up-to-date information, including photos from the

construction site, check out our website at www.RiverdaleMikvah.com.

Mikvah Construction Update The renovation of the Riverdale Mikvah is underway. Please keep in mind

that construction sites are potentially hazardous and that the safety fences

around the property are there for our safety and the safety of our

children. The Bayit's driveway access will be impacted. Please use care

when visiting the Bayit by car. Most importantly, please ensure that

children do not attempt to climb the fences or otherwise attempt to

access the construction area.

Kirshblum for guidance, information, referrals and a sympathetic ear.

There is no fee and all conversations are strictly confidential.

Bumps in the Road: Struggles on the Journey to Parenthood

We each have our own story when it comes to becoming parents. Infertility,

miscarriage, complex pregnancies, surrogacy, adoption and other

circumstances can send us on a physical and emotional roller coaster. The

journey can be a lonely one fraught with unknowns. Let's gather as a

community to learn more about how to be sensitive and support fellow

congregants through these struggles.

Israel Scholarships: UJA-Federation of New York's Israel Experience

Center continues to help New York Jewish teens entering 10th to 12th

grades fulfill their dreams of traveling to Israel by providing both need-based

loved one who were survivors at this year's Yom HaShoah Seder. Their

April 2nd - Child Protection Shabbat: On April 2nd, we will have the opportunity to gather at the conclusion of

tefillah to learn about child abuse in the Jewish community and to begin a

conversation on how our Bayit can respond. From 5:30 PM-7:00 PM there

will be a community forum with the Child Protection lay committee. The

committee will present some of its work to date and hear questions and suggestions from the community. Child care will be provided.

AIPAC’S POLICY CONFERENCE 2016: Those who attended the Bayit's first Yom Yerushalayim Yom Iyun on Sunday, May

17, 2015 were privileged to hear from AIPAC’s Northeast Political Director, Dr. Sharon Goldman. We hope you were inspired by

her words – Dr. Goldman spoke passionately about the importance of being actively involved in reaching out to your members of

Congress about the US-Israel relationship. Each March, HIR members join the pro-Israel community at AIPAC’s Policy Conference

in Washington, DC to show our support of the US-Israel alliance. Policy Conference is arguably the most important conference in

the Jewish world; over 16,000 activists come together in Washington to lobby for a safe and secure Israel. The conference includes

exhibitions of groundbreaking Israeli innovations that are saving American lives; keynote speeches

by top leaders from both the United States and Israel; emotional and inspiring moments; and

THE RIVERDALE RISING STARS GALA: Next Sunday, 3/20/2016, longtime community activists, Miriam Westheimer and

Joel Einleger, will be honored at the Annual Broadway Stars Gala presented by the Award Winning Riverdale Rising Stars. The

event will take place at the Riverdale Y, 5625 Arlington Avenue. The evening will begin at 5:00pm with a Cocktail Hour/Buffet &

Silent Auction then followed at 6:45pm by a performance of The Drowsy Chaperone with performers from many current
