PARISH COUNCIL SUMMARY/RESUMEN CONSEJO PARROQUIAL PARISH COUNCIL The meeting of Oct 10 opened with a prayer led by Padre. FINANCE/BULDING: Tim Romocki went over our Church Self Study and Needs Assessment. This document will be available to everyone shortly. There is an almost sure chance that by mid 2018 St Bernadette will be able to go from a Mission to a Parish. We need a financial review, bank accounts are in good shape, we have to be financially independent, be able to sustain the Pastor 100% (we currently support Padre 75%, we must not have debt and all bills paid on time. It is common practice when a Mission becomes a Parish that they rename the Church. We would submit 3 names to the Bishop and he can choose one or suggest another. The name change is to signify a new beginning for the Parish. NEW PEWS: It was suggested to purchase several pew chairs. These are cheaper than pews and would come with pat-terned upholstery. These chairs will be placed in Church so we can try them out. They are the same as in the Chapel at the Cathedral. LITURGY: Nov 1— All Saints Day – Mass at 6PM in English. Nov 2 -. All Souls Day – Mass at 6PM in English and 7:30PM in Spanish. Nov 26 – Torch gathering at 10:30 in Gazebo Park and from there a march to the Athletic Park. Padre will explain this at a later date. SOCIAL: A Thanksgiving Brunch will be held on the deck at 10:30 on Nov 12. Halloween Candy will be distributed after Faith Formation classes on Oct 29. FUNDRAISING: Raffle tickets are available after Mass. There are several cash prizes and new donated prizes. Drawing will be Dec 12. Entertainment is being booked for the 2018 International Food Festival. MISC. Jim Ken-nady is looking into borrowing equipment to grade the parking lot. Enlarging the front doors to the Church was dis-cussed. Right now, the wood is old and cracked due to age and weather. They have been repaired several times. They are also not ADA compliant. Padre led closing prayer. Next meeting will be Dec 11. El CONCILIO PARROQUIAL se reunió el 10 de octubre con una oración dirigida por el Padre. FINANZAS / EDIFI-CIO: Tim Romocki repasó nuestro autoestudio y evaluación de las necesidades de la iglesia. Este documento es-tará disponible para todos pronto. Existe una posibilidad casi segura de que a mediados del 2018 St. Bernadette pueda pasar de una Misión a una Parroquia. Necesitamos una revisión financiera, las cuentas bancarias estén en buena forma, tenemos que ser financieramente independientes, ser capaces de mantener al Pastor al 100% (actualmente apoyamos al Padre 75%, no debemos tener deudas y pagar todas las facturas a tiempo. Una práctica común cuando una Misión se convierte en una Parroquia es renombrar a la Iglesia. Le enviamos 3 nombres al Obispo y él puede elegir uno o sugerir otro. El cambio de nombre significa un nuevo comienzo para la Parroquia. NUEVAS BANCAS: Se sugirió comprar varias sillas de banco. Estas son más baratas que las bancas y vendrían con tapicería estampada. Estas sillas se colocarán en la Iglesia para que podamos probarlas. Son las mismas que en la Capilla de la Catedral. LITURGIA: 1

02 de noviembre. Día de Todas las almas- Misa a las 6PM en inglés y a las 7:30 PM en español. 26 de noviembre - Reunión de Antorcha a las 10:30 en el Parque Gazebo y desde allí una marcha al Parque Atlético. Padre explica-rá esto en una fecha posterior. SOCIAL: El brunch de Acción de Gracias se llevará a cabo en la terraza a las 10:30 del 12 de noviembre. Halloween Candy se distribuirá después de las clases de formación de fe el 29 de octubre. RECAUDACIÓN DE FONDOS: Los boletos de rifa estarán disponibles después de la misa. Hay varios premios en efectivo y nuevos premios donados. El sorteo será el 12 de diciembre. Se está reservando el entretenimiento para el Festival Internacional de Alimentos de 2018. MISC Jim Kennady está buscando rentar equipos para arreglar el estacionamiento. Se discutió la ampliación de las puertas principales de la Iglesia. En este momento, la madera es vieja y agrietada debido a la edad y el clima. Han sido reparados varias veces. Tampoco cumplen con ADA. Padre dirigió la oración de clausura.
