Public Masses Begin

Saturday, June 6, 2020

We are so happy to bring you great news! Archbishop Nelson Perez has announced that parishes can begin to celebrate public Masses on Saturday, June 6, 2020.

To help us prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Archdiocese has enacted the following restrictions, in conformity with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Center for Disease Control as we enter the “yellow phase”: Upon entering the church please observe 6 foot social distancing at all times. Please sit in pews

that are open. While members of the same household may sit together as normal, please leave adistance of 6 foot between your household and the members of a different household.

Everyone entering the church building must wear a mask. You will be able to remove the maskonly for the reception of Holy Communion.

We strongly encourage everyone to receive Holy Communion in the hand, however if you feelyou need to receive on the tongue, a special station will be set up for you to receive in thismanner. Gloves should not be worn for the reception of Holy Communion.

When entering church please go directly to a pew. At the conclusion of Mass please exit thechurch and proceed directly to your car.

Due to the cleaning and sanitizing procedures to be performed between each Mass, 3 Masses will be celebrated publicly, and 2 Masses will be celebrated privately, so all Mass intentions for each weekend will be honored. The 3 public Masses Saint Mary will offer each weekend are:

Saturday at 4 PM Sunday at 9 AM Sunday at 12 PM

Daily Mass will be celebrated publicly Monday thru Saturday at 9am beginning on Saturday, June 6th following the same procedures as described above.

Only those individuals who are feeling well, and are healthy, should attend public Mass. Please note that the Obligation of attending Sunday Mass is still dispensed for all the faithful. If you are not feeling well, are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19, or are not comfortable returning to places where there are crowds of people, you are not obligated to attend Mass. Mass will be livestreamed every day at 9:00am for those who are joining us virtually.

While we are excited that everyone will be able to return to Mass and receive Jesus in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, we ask that everyone please follow the guidelines above for the health and welfare of all of our parishioners and friends!
