MASS INTENTIONS FOR THE WEEK Welcome Visitors & Guests
Thank you for Celebrating the Mass with us. We are glad that you
are here. If you have any questions about our parish or joining the
Catholic faith, please contact the Parish Office.
From Deacon Brian:
I would like to thank all the volunteers, our ushers, cleaners, office,
and maintenance staff in our parishes who have helped with our
churches reopening plan. We continue to record a mass every week-
end for those who cannot make it. We are committed to making sure
our houses of worship are safe for our people to return. As always,
thank you for your patience and understanding.
Please contact the parish offices if you know of someone who is sick
and would like to receive communion. Without the benefit of a wor-
ship aid for mass, please feel free to take a copy of the “Word
Among Us”, it has readings, mass parts and reflections in every is-
sue.
Just a reminder, our parishes Thrift Stores are open. These stores not
only serve a great need in the community but also help add extra
income to our parishes. I am most grateful for these stores and the
dedicated volunteers who work so hard.
To our Food Pantry in Constable, under the direction of Karen
Welch and her volunteers, we are blessed to be able to provide that
service to those in need in our community.
Finally, I pray you have a blessed 4th of July. A day to give thanks
for our independence. However, let us always remember our de-
pendence on Almighty God. Grace and Peace to your family and
friends.

Environmental Stewardship
Have you ever wished you knew of a natural weed killer that pro-
tected the soil and the water while keeping under control those plant
species that grow where you don’t want them (better known as
"WEEDS")? Here is one to try: 4 cups white vinegar; 1/4 cup salt
and 1 tsp. liquid soap. Combine ingredients in a spray bottle and
spray the weeds at the sunniest time of the day for best results.
Spray carefully. This stuff can’t tell a flower or vegetable plant from
a "weed!" This recipe and for many other recipes: search for
“homemade weed killer.”
Planned Giving: Leaving a Legacy
Think about the part you want to play in our parish’s future. You
have the opportunity to support this ministry in many ways. Naming
our parish as a beneficiary in your estate plan or the making of an
endowment gift can assure your continued participation in this minis-
try far into the future. For further information, contact Scott Lalone,
Executive Director of Development/Foundation at the Diocese of
Ogdensburg at 315-393-2920 or [email protected].
NFP AWARENESS WEEK JULY 19-25:Annual USCCB initiative
to increase awareness of God's plan for married love.
July 19-25 marks National NFP Awareness Week, which invites every-
one to consider the beauty of God's plan for sex, love and marriage.
"Like so many other people who have made the switch to Natural Fam-
ily Planning," Jennifer Fulwiler writes, "I simply couldn't be okay with
any form of sterilization any more, whether temporary or permanent. In
that place deep in the heart where the most important truths about our
humanity reside, I know as surely as I know anything else that those
Catholic teachings about human sexuality are true and good." To learn
more about those teachings, or about NFP--a healthy, effective, re-
spectful approach to family planning--please contact the Diocesan NFP
Office, [email protected] or 518-483-0459. Visit us at https://
www.rcdony.org/nfp
Mary Immaculate, our Mother and our Patroness,
we ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as
you did at the wedding in Cana.
Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our
diocese, our nation and our world, for our
families and loved ones, the protection of
your Maternal mantle from this dreaded virus.
In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us
to love one another and to be patient and kind.
Help us to bring the peace and healing
Presence of Jesus to our land and to our hearts.
We come to you with confidence, knowing that you are our com-
passionate mother, health of the sick and cause of our joy. Keep us
in the embrace of your arms. Help us always to know the love of
your Son, Jesus our Lord AMEN.

COURAGE & ENCOURAGE ANNUAL CONFERENCE
ONLINE THIS YEAR!
July 25 – 26, 2020
Visit: www.couragerc.org/conference2020
ABOUT COURAGE: Courage members are men and women who
experience same-sex attractions and who have made a commitment to
strive for chastity. They are inspired by the Gospel call to holiness and
the Catholic Church’s beautiful teachings about the goodness and in-
herent purpose of human sexuality.
Through our apostolate, people who experience same-sex attraction
receive pastoral support in the form of spiritual guidance, community
prayer support, and fellowship.
"These men and women testify to the power of grace, the nobility
and resilience of the human heart." - Cardinal Robert Sarah
ABOUT ENCOURAGE: EnCourage members are parents, spouses,
sibling and friends of people who identify as LGBTQ. They are look-
ing for help to keep the faith and keep their family bonds intact.
EnCourage members work together to understand the experiences of
their loved ones, and to respond to them with compassion. They know
that it is possible to express love for someone even if we can’t support
all of their choices or actions. They find spiritual guidance to grow in
their relationship with Christ, and community support from other mem-
bers that helps them remember that they are not alone on this journey.
"Love and sacrifice are closely linked, like the sun and the light. We
cannot love without suffering and we cannot suffer without love."
- Saint Gianna Beretta Molla"
THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Readings: 2 Kgs 4:8-11, 14-16a/Rom 6:3-4, 8-11/Mt 10:37-42
Today’s Gospel speaks of crosses and of rewards. Do not let the fear
of the crosses in life make you hesitant in following Christ, of get-
ting close to him. For it is through the crosses that we come to know
true love and that we can come to know the many graces we have
already received from him who loved us first. Do not be afraid to
draw near to him, so that those who draw near to us, may encounter
him in use and through us.
