• It is held from Domingo de Ramos (Palm Sunday)- Domingo de Resurreccion (Resurection Sunday)

• Two large tranos (or floats) carry important statues (Virgin Mary, Christ, etc.) through the town.

• Music is very important to Semana Santa. Bands follow tranos and stop for religious songs.

• Brotherhoods who organize the event wear clothes resembling KKK, but actually are meant for Nazareños (people of the Nazareth)

• La Semana Santa is like Easter. It's celebrating Christ.

• In 1521, when Marqués de Tarifa returned from a inspirational journey, he mandated that the Via Crucis (station of crosses) be a yearly procession.

• This one procession eventually split into many days of festivities.

• La Semana Santa is celebrated all over Spain

• Quiero participar en esta celebracíon. Pienso que los tranos serían divertido ver. Aunque, sería incómodo con "los Nazareños." Quiero ir a España. Quizàs cuando voy allí, será la semana Santa.
