If you have never placed your faith in Christ as your Savior, that is your present need.

On the Cross, all sins were placed on the humanity of Christ and judged; full payment was made for the sins of mankind.

Salvation is offered freely to each person by simple faith in the finished work of Christ.

He did all the work to satisfy the Righteousness of God; ours is merely to receive it by faith.

That one act of faith, directed toward the Person and Work of Christ, brings eternal life, a permanent relationship with God as His child.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved … KJV




The filling of the Spirit is a grace provision that restores a believer to fellowship that had been broken because of sin.

Upon the confession of sin, the believer is now ready to study the Word of God and God the Holy Spirit can make it spiritually discernable.

Scripture reveals, specifically, this grace provision that places us in a posture to learn the Word of God and then apply it.

Only in the filling of the Spirit, is God able to work in us to His glory.

I acknowledged my sin to Thee, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; And Thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin. Selah. NASB

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. NASB

As a believer in Christ, it is imperative that the Word of God be approached with no unconfessed sin in one’s life. Specific prophecies concerning the Messiah: Genesis 3:15 -- in which the seed of the woman is promised, the Seed which will crush Satan ---

this speaks of His humanity

Genesis 9:27 – God dwelling in the tents of Shem speaks of God identifying Himself with His people -- later prophesied as Immanuel by Isaiah

Genesis 12:3 – in you all the families of the earth will be blessed speaks of the Savior being descended from Abraham and providing redemption to the whole world through His finished work on the Cross

Paul elaborates on this prophecy declaring that it not only was made to Abraham, but spoke of the humanity of Christ

Galatians 3:16

3:16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, "And to seeds," as referring to many, but rather to one, "And to your seed," that is, Christ NASB

Luke records that the coming of Messiah fulfills that which was spoken to Abraham as Zacharias praised God over the birth of the herald, John the Baptizer

Prophecies and Their Fulfillment




John the Baptizer would be the herald/prophet who would identify the Messiah as the Lamb of God

"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited us and accomplished redemption for His people, And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of David His servant

As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from of old —

Salvation from our enemies, And from the hand of all who hate us;

To show mercy toward our fathers, And to remember His holy covenant,

The oath which He swore to Abraham our father,

To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear,

In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days. NASB




Numbers 24:15-17

And he took up his discourse and said, "The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor, And the oracle of the man whose eye is opened,

The oracle of him who hears the words of God, And knows the knowledge of the Most High, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered.

"I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, And a scepter shall rise from Israel, And shall crush through the forehead of Moab, And tear down all the sons of Sheth. NASB

Genesis 49:10-12-- the Messiah is called Shiloh, the One who gives rest to the people, the Prince of Peace

the kingdom of the Messiah is prophesied by Balaam, an evil prophet for hire, to say what pleased the highest bidder

yet, God uses this unfaithful prophet to advance the knowledge of Messiah




Numbers 24:17:

the Ruler was not to come in the near future -- “not now, not nigh”

the Ruler would have a glorious rule – He is likened to a star that comes out of Jacob/Israel

this Scepter would rise to power as a conqueror

Psalm 2:9-12

'Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, Thou shalt shatter them like earthenware.' "

Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Take warning, O judges of the earth.

Worship the LORD with reverence, And rejoice with trembling.

Do homage to the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him! NASB




like Moses, Messiah would be a prophet

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him. Worship the LORD with reverence, And rejoice with trembling.

This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, lest I die.' "And the

LORD said to me, 'They have spoken well.

“I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. NASB




like Moses, Messiah would communicate with God face to face

Luke 10:22

10:22 "All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." NASB

like Moses, Messiah would perform miracles

Now when John in prison heard of the works of Christ, he sent word by his disciples,

and said to Him, "Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?"

And Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and report to John what you hear and see:

the blind receive sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. NASB




like Moses, Messiah would mediate a new covenant, a new code of conduct

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. NASB

like Moses, Messiah would deliver people out of bondage

Luke 4:18

4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are downtrodden, NASB




the writer of Hebrews declares that Jesus Christ is infinitely superior to Moses

Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.

He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.

For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house. NASB

“like” Moses, attests to the superiority of the Messiah

18:15 your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen , you shall listen to him. (will be fulfilled by the nation Israel in the Millennium; is fulfilled at any time by those who believe in Christ –Jew or Gentile) NASB




Messiah is worthy of angelic praise and worship

"Rejoice, O nations, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And will render vengeance on His adversaries, And will atone for His land and His people." NASB

And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, " And let all the angels of God worship Him." NASB

And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,

saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."

And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."

And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen." And the elders fell down and worshiped. NASB




I Samuel 2:35

2:35 But I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and in My soul; and I will build him an enduring house, and he will walk before My anointed always. NASB

the Messiah is called a faithful priest, as opposed to the unfaithful service of Eli and his sons

Revelation 19:4-6

And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, "Amen. Hallelujah!"

And a voice came from the throne, saying, "Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great."

And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude and as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. NASB




Messiah will build a permanent house for God

“When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom.

He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men,

but My lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you

And your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever." NASB

Hebrews 3:5-6

Now Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;

but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end. NASB




Messiah makes a covenant with David

"He is a tower of deliverance to His king, And shows lovingkindness to His anointed, To David and his descendants forever." NASB

only Messiah can fulfill all the promises made to David -- Psalm 89: 1- 37

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Thy throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before Thee.

How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in the light of Thy countenance.

the promises made to David are made to the house of David and culminate in the coming of Messiah

"If your sons will keep My covenant, And My testimony which I will teach them, Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever."

For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation. NASB

"I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her needy with bread.

Messiah is God who takes on humanity; yet, He is God (LORD is YAHWEH, speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ, the God of Israel) Psalm 8

this Psalm is quoted four times in the New Testament, and each time it is applied to Jesus Christ

“hast made” -- CHASAR means to take away from something or subtract from that which already existed; this is not a reference to the creation of man, for the word BANAH is used for the creation of man; nothing was subtracted from the dust to create Adam

Messiah trusts in God for His deliverance from the coming Cross
