ith the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it seems like the hardest thing to do now a days

is to eat healthy. You have classes to attend, paper work to do, and your job that you still have to go to.

With such a busy lifestyle the last thing on your mind is thinking about whether or not your meal is healthy. Sometimes, the easiest thing to eat is the quickest thing you can get your hands on and that usually means fast. Being an athlete, you need to be thinking about the types of meals you eat. Although you may be getting a lot of exercise, a poor diet can hinder athletic performance. Just remember that everything you put into your body has an effect on you.

People always say that eating too much fast food is bad for you but there’s good reason for it. Most fast foods are loaded with calories and little nutrients. An average meal at a fast food joint will run you anywhere from 800-1200+ calories in one meal. That’s a lot of calories for one meal given that the average person needs about 2,000 calories per day. Besides the calories, another factor with just grabbing fast food is that the meals are typically loaded with Saturated fat which is the bad fat. Eating foods that are high in saturated fat can increase bad cholesterol level in the blood. It’s also the main cause of heart attack, stroke and peripheral vascular diseases. Trans-fat which is also found in many fast food meals is

Walso causes elevated levels of bad cholesterol in the blood and can lower the amount of good cholesterol in your body. Sodium or salt is another reason why you should always be weary about eating fast foods. Fast foods restaurants use a ton of it when preparing its meals. An average adult needs to consume about 1200mg of sodium per day. The average chicken sandwich containsaround 1880 mg of sodium and a bacon cheeseburger will have up to 2070 mg of sodium. Sodium isn’t all that bad, our body needs some salt. Too much salt is bad for the body because it can cause high blood pressure, obesity, and osteoporosis.

Eating right is always going to be a challenge. Fast food places have started providing healthier options on their menus for health conscious people on the go. Just take the time to read the menus and think about what’s in the foods you are about to order. Knowledge is power and the right types of foods will complement your workouts. So even on a busy schedule, you can still find healthy foods that will keep you on track with your fitness regimen, you just need to look and think healthy before you eat.

very golfer, deep down, wants to believe that brand new golf clubs will make them a better golfer. While they may take your cool factor up a few notches and make you the envy of the clubhouse improving your game is going to take a little more effort than that. To better align your expectations to reality we have come up with some tips to help you improve.

1. lessons from the right pro for you. If you don’t know how a golf swing is supposed to work, or you don’t know what your golf swing is

actually doing, then you will never improve. The job of a teaching pro is to identify the dysfunctional parts of your swing, and teach you how to make them functional. The right teacher for you is one who can (a) identify your biggest problems, and (b) convey them in terms that are helpful to you.

2. Practice, the right kind and lots of it. Unless you are inherently an outstanding athlete, simply knowing what you’re doing wrong -- and

even how to do it right – does not always get you very far. Of course, it’s an essential first step. But you also have to practice doing it right until you “groove” it, until it becomes “muscle memory”. That is going to take more practice and more discipline than you might imagine.

3. Clubs that fit you, not some magic invention just one that fits your gaMe and FRaMe. There is no magic! Technology has put a few extra yards on how far a club can hit the ball (compared

with ten or fifteen years ago) but the most important thing about your clubs is that they are the right clubs for your game and frame -- that they fit you. If they don’t, you could indeed be losing a lot of yards and adding a lot of strokes to your score. But the answer isn’t “the finest clubs that money can buy;” it is a competent club fitting.

Q. What is the best tip you would give to a beginner?A. Find clubs that fit you. It will save you a ton of aggravation from the start. Make sure they aren’t

too short, long or heavy. Otherwise, you’ll adapt your swing to the equipment in a way that might not be technically sound. It’s easy to get fit, and it really does matter.

What conclusion can we draw from Tiger’s advice?1. Those selling off-the-shelf brand name clubs have always relied, when push comes to shove,

on the endorsements of the tour pros. One of the best of the tour pros says that fitting is the most important thing.

2. If fitting is “the best tip for a beginner”, then it is the most important thing. Even more important than the brand of club you get.

3. If it’s that important, you should find a specialist in custom fitting.4. Once you find your specialist…….PRACTICE!

And remember, you need to do all three to see improvement. If new clubs alone help much, and continue to help for more than a short honeymoon, then your old clubs must have been very ill-suited to your game to begin with.
