CULTURE CONNECTS is the official
newsletter of the MRC. This edition is
provided during Orientation and the
summer months to help new students &
families get acclimated to our cultural
student group community and the greater
community by providing a listing of
minority owned businesses in our area that
provide goods & services you need and a
listing of religious establishments to help
make the transition to our city feel more like home! Our
September newsletter will provide a survey for
student feedback on local business use, ideas
for cultural programming and a detailed
calendar of MRC events for the Fall Semester.

About the Multicultural Resource Center
MISSION STATEMENTThe mission of the Multicultural Resource Center at
Binghamton University is to educate the campus
community through initiatives designed to increase
awareness and understanding of cultural diversity,
its significance in the advancement of all fields of
endeavor and in navigating our world. The MRC
facilitates programs and activities supporting the
recruitment, retention, personal and professional
development of all students with special emphasis
on students from culturally diverse and historically
underrepresented populations.
