DIRECTORY UPDATE

Dear Parishioners: As you know, our parish directory for the year 2012 has been seriously de-layed. There were concerns and corrections that needed to be ad-dressed before releasing the direc-

tory for publication. We’re sorry for the delay, but we think you’ll be pleased with the final up-to-date re-sults . The good news – we’ve been given a ship date by the publisher of no later than July 6th. As soon as the direc-tories arrive in the parish office, the Directory Ministry will notify parishioners through the bulletin, website and Facebook. Everyone who sat for a picture will receive a free directory. There will be a limited amount of direc-tories for sale at $10.00 a copy for those who may want additional copies or those who are not receiving a free directory at this time. We share your disappointment for the delay in publication and look forward to the upcom-ing distribution dates. We are anticipating giving the directories out at the Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th Masses, and for the following weekend on Sat-urday, August 4th and Sunday, August 5th. Directories will be available during regular office hours in the parish of-fice during the week. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Ray and Marta Werner Directory Ministry

SERRA VOCATION THOUGHT

A vocation must be nurtured for a lifetime, not just until ordination or the taking of vows. You can help nur-ture the vocation of priests, deacons, sisters and brothers by praying, listen-ing and expressing appreciation. A life of service needs support from those served.

INSTALLATION OF FR. DAVID GAA, OFM, AS PASTOR OF MISSION SAN LUIS REY PARISH

The Installation by Bishop Robert Brom, Bishop of San Diego, of Fr. David Gaa, OFM, as Pastor of Mission San Luis Rey Parish will take place on July 15 during 10:00 a.m. Mass. Mass will be in English and

Spanish with prayers of intercession in various lan-guages, reflecting the multicultural character of our parish. All parishioners are invited to this cele-bration inaugurating the ministry of Fr. David as our pastor. Please be sure to save the date.

FAITH FORMATION PRESENTS: “Coming Back to the Church” This Week’s Catholic Update: free online video de-signed for today’s adults, teens and children. Saundra Willingham introduces us to a view of a woman who was raised Catholic and left the Church for a time. She explains what led her back to the faith of her birth--a moving testimony of how the unique "Catholic" approach to God continues to draw us home (4:47). High school-adult Additional uses: returning Catholics programs (From Catholic Update Video: "What Makes Us Catholic? Discovering Our Catholic Identity") To play this week's featured video: go to -- http://ondemand.catholicupdate.org/, click on playlists. On the right, click on: "I have a code from my parish or school and need to access the videos.” Viewing the vid-eos is free. Register as a viewer. Registration is free. Use this share code: 492LYN After viewing this Catholic Update Here are some questions to guide your time in prayer.

What parts of Catholic identity do you feel good about? proud of?

What about the Catholic Church or Catholic Faith do you wish you understood better?

Have you ever experienced yourself being mis-read—that another person puts more weight on a part of your identity than it warrants? Do you think people do that with religions too? How do you see this being done with the Catholic Church?

RCIA—INQUIRY Have you ever had questions about the Catholic Church? How do you become a member of the Catholic Church? For those not baptized, baptized in another Christian church, or baptized Catholic but inactive in the church, please call 760-547-0702.

CATHOLICISM The SCC ministry will be presenting the acclaimed and dynamic series CATHOLICISM. Catholicism is a DVD series that goes to heart of what Catholics believe and why they believe. The material is based on Scripture, the Catechism, and the spiritual intellects of the Catholic Church both past and present. The Church’s global culture, the beauty of its art and architecture and the goodness of its people is high-lighted. Fr. Robert Barron makes the teachings of the Church quite understandable. The presentation will be on Sunday in the Serra Ctr., after the 5pm Mass. Each session is just one hour. Please add this to your summer plans! For information call Bill 760-547-0702.

Si su matrimonio los está destruyendo, si no existe una comunicación significativa, o si han con-siderado la separación o el divorcio, Retrouvaille
