We went up Penang Hill during the holidays. At the foot of the hill

is the Penang Hill Railway, one of the worlds old funicular systems. It was

built in 1897 but commissioned only on 1923. The funicular system was

replaced in 2012 and we go up in the new, air-conditioned coaches. The

ride only taking 9 minutes. On the way up, we enjoyed the lush greenery

and saw some Macaque monkey. On the summit, about 750 meters

below sea level, we had a spectacular view of the island below and the

surrounding sea. Then, us went to the food court and enjoyed some

snacks. It was cool up there and an air was fresh. Fortunately, we had our

jackets. The souvenir stalls was interesting but a bit expensive so we did

not buy anything. We enjoyed walked among the high trees and

exploring the nature trails. It was wonderfully day on the hill. We finally

had an early dinner there and then took the train down. We hope to go up

Penang Hill again.e.g. oldest

Road accidents occur daily. What is alarming is that the rate of road accidents

in our country is rather high. It is imperative that awareness campaigns iscarried out, especially in schools. The setting out of road safety clubs in

school is a step for the right direction. The Ministry of Education may

even step in by making road safety part of the schools curriculum and at

least a compulsory co-curricular activities. Local traffic police can conduct

talks on road safety most regularly in schools. In addition, traffic games for

schoolchildren should be revived as this can teach the young participants road

courtesy and the importance of not breaking traffic roles. Poster competitions

on road safety should also be held at all level. The mass media especially

television and newspapers have an important role to carry to help curb road

accidents. Last but not least, the relevant authorities should come up hard

on those who break traffic rules. Hefty fines or even the suspension of their

driving license should be imposed.e.g. area) ____________b) ____________c) ____________d) ____________e) ____________f) ____________g) ____________h) ____________i) ____________j) ____________

Today, we are going to visit one of the older jungles in the world to learn

more about exotic plants. Do you know that there are plants that must kill

an eat insects? Sound strange, does it? The pitcher plant is one of these

plants that traps insect for food. This plant can be found in our National

Park in Pahang. This plant looks like the pitcher or jug. It even has a lid to

keep from the rain. A sweet, sticky substance cover the mouth of the

pitcher. This substance attracts insects to the pitcher. If the insect want to

get more of the sweet substance, it will crawl deeper into the pitcher whennectar is found on the bottom. The inner wall of the pitcher is covered

with fine hairs who points downwards. This prevents the insect from

crawling out of the pitcher. Eventually, it can die inside it. Then, the plant

will digest the dead insect and absorb it as food. Well, listeners, that is all

we have for now. Make sure you tune in next time for more interesting

facts about nature. Have a great weekend ahead. We will be back with

You at the same time, next Monday.e.g. oldesta) ____________

Hang gliders were easy to assemble and carry, as they have no motor. Basically, they consist for a metal frame, sail cloth and wire. It is amazing to think that such the simple apparatus can lift off the ground and stayed in the air by using air currents, as birds do. By learning to the right or left which I am in the air, I can change direction. The scenery below me is spectacularly, whether I am glided over beaches or mountains, rivers or fields. Sometimes my flight last for a few hours, sometimes for a few minutes. It is not easy to learn to fly a hang-glider as they requires a lot of discipline, energy and courage. The feeling that you got the first time you leave the ground is unforgettable. I strong recommend this sport to all who love excitement, adventure and challenge.e.g. area) _____________

MR. NOBODY

I know a funny little man,

As quite as a mouse,

Who does the mischief that is done

In everybodys house!

Theres no one ever sees his face,

And yet we all agree

That every plate we brake was cracked

By Mr. Nobody.

Tis he who always tears our books,

Who leaves the door ajar,

He pulls the buttons from our shirts,

And scatters pins afar,

That squeaking door will always squeak,

For, prithee, dont you see,

We leave the oiling to be done

By Mr. Nobody.

He puts damp wood upon the fire,

That kettles cannot boil,

His are the feet that bring in mud,

And all the carpets soil.

The papers always are mislaid

Who had them last but he?

Theres no one tosses them about,

But Mr. Nobody.

The finger marks upon the door By none of us are made;

We never leave the blinds unclosed,

To let the curtains fade;

The ink we never spill; the boots

That lying round you see

Are not our boots they all belong

To Mr. Nobody.

When would you do if you won a million ringgit? Well, this is a common question we are asked from time to time, but have not really given it serious thought. I guess when it really happens, we will have lots of friends hanging around for handouts, and receive calls and e-mails from people asking for money for some problems or another.

If i had a million ringgit, I would first bur a house for my parents and give them some money so that they can use it for whatever they want. Then, I would give some to charity. Close to my heart are animals and children, so I would donate a generous amount to animal shelters and another portion to charities for abused children. I would also like to give some to my siblings and good friends who have been such an important part of my life. I would like to travel so I will plan some holiday trips with my family.

I do not want a car or expensive things for myself. I will save a reasonable portion for my future, especially my education. The difficult part will be deciding the actual amounts. I will have to get a financial expert to help me make wise decisions.
