INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONSst

To mark 71 Independence Day, Aggarwal College thBallabgarh celebrated the day on 15 August, 2017

with full fanfare and enthusiasm in the premises of the college. Mr. Devender Gupta, Chairman, Governing Body, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh was the Chief Guest of the occasion. He was accompanied by Principal Dr. Krishan Kant, Principal, members of the Management and all the staff members.

The whole college was decked up with tricolor flags. The NSS & NCC volunteers presented a spectacular sight in white and blue. The air was filled with patriotic fervour. The function started with unfurling

of the Tricolor and National Anthem. In his address Sh. Devender Kumar Gupta said that we are enjoying the fruits of Independence because of the labour put in by our brave warriors and we should not let it go waste by indulging in petty struggle over caste, religion and gender. Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta also motivated the audience by making all take a pledge of loyalty towards the Nation and citizens. The students presented a colourful programme of patriotic songs, speeches & dances. To make the day memorable, Tree Plantation was done to bring freedom from pollution and bring about ecological balance. Refreshment was distributed towards the conclusion.

Hindi Diwas was celebrated in college on 14September 2017. The Guest Lecture was delivered by eminent litterateur Sh. Baldev Vanshi. The Chairperson of the function was Principal Dr. Krishan Kant, who while throwing light on the present condition of Hindi exhorted the students to master different languages for their holistic development and also be able to compete in this world. It is worth mentioning that `Hindi Chetna

th th Saptah` was celebrated in the college from 7 to 14September 2017 under which various competitions such as Story-Telling, Poem Recitation, Dictation and Essay Writing were conducted. On Hindi Diwas, Declamation Competition on `Employment

Opportunities in Hindi' was held. Sh. Baldev Vanshi in his address, highlighted the dignity of Hindi and through the Vedic quote of `Aham Brahma Asmi` motivated the students to inculcate the feeling of self-respect and self-confidence. He also told about employment opportunities in Hindi. Ms. Kiran Anand, Head of the Department, Dr. Ashok Nirala, Dr. Renu Maheshwari, Dr. Banke Bihari, Dr. Ram Chander and Dr. Manju Gupta worked to organise this event. At the end, prize winners in all the categories were felicitated.

INDUCTION CEREMONYDepartment of Commerce (Wing-III)An Induction Ceremony was organized for the first year students of B.Com (Vocational) and B.Com. (Honours) by the Commerce Department of Wing-III of the College. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta addressed all the students and guided and motivated

them for a successful career. Head of the Department Dr. Parveen Gupta welcomed all the students.

Ms. Seema Malik, Assistant Professor, introduced the students with the rules and regulations of the college and various activities of the college. Dr. Rekha Sain briefed the students about National Service Scheme (NSS) activities. All the concerned faculty members were present on this occasion. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Rekha Sain.

cultural, NCC and NSS taking place in the college and a formal introduction of faculty members was given to students. Students were motivated by Dr. Usha Aggarwal, Incharge Wing-II and the senior staff members to participate in activities of their interest along with giving equal importance to academics. At the end of the function Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal, addressed the freshers and wished them all the best.

Faculty of Arts, Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh gave a ndwarm welcome to the freshers of BA on 02 August

2017. The Induction Ceremony started with lighting of lamp before Ma Saraswati. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, who in his address motivated the students and wished them to lead their life in a meaningful manner. Students were also made aware about the scholarship norms by Dr. Naresh Kamra. Dr. Sachin Garg briefed about the rules & regulations of the college. assured them to provide every possible facility. He said, 'if you are ready to fly, we are ready to be your wings'. Mrs. Kamal Tandon, Head, Department of English, presented vote of thanks. The programme ended with National Anthem.

An Induction Ceremony was organized at Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh on 05th August 2017 to welcome its B.COM-I year students. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, who in his address congratulated the students and wished them a bright future ahead.

He motivated the students to become a STAR by participating in sports and curricular activities. Freshers were told the rules and regulations along with various activities like sports, cultural, NCC and NSS taking place in the college and a formal introduction of faculty members was given to students. Students were motivated by Dr. Usha Aggarwal, Incharge Wing-II and the senior staff members to participate in activities of their interest along with giving equal importance to academics.

An Induction cum Freshers' party for M.Sc.-th

Chemistry (P) 2017-2019 batch was organised on 29 August 2017 in Wing-II. College Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp to invoke goddess Saraswati. Students were given a brief introduction of the college, its glorious past and laurels brought by students by showing them a slide show of the activities of the previous session and were given a warm welcome by Dr. Poonam Anand, Co-ordinator, M.Sc. Chemistry. Final year students gave wonderful performances of dances and singing in the welcome of freshers. Freshers were also seen in their high spirits &they took part in various games and activity rounds organised by their seniors. Sandeep Sharma & Reshma Rana were adjudged as Mr. Fresher & Miss Fresher by Ms. Geeta Rathi, Ms. Mansi Tyagi, Mr. Chander Attri & Ms. Jyotsna Vashistha. An Induction-cum-Freshers` party for M.Sc.Physics st(P) was organised on 1 Sept. 2017 in Seminar Hall,

Wing-II of College Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal was the Chief Guest. The function started with lighting of Deep Shikha. Dr. A.S. Yadav, HOD, Physics welcomed the Principal and Incharge Dr. Usha Aggarwal. He also apprised the Chief Guest with various activities going on in the department. Students were given a brief introduction of Department of Physics & the college. Final year students welcomed the freshers` and gave a wonderful performance of dances and songs. Freshers` also showed the high spirit and took part in various activities and games organised by their seniors to select Mr. & Ms. Fresher. Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal of the college was the chief guest and he welcomed the freshers to be a part of college family and motivated them to set the goal and work hard to achieve the same. The students were told about the NET which is a mandatory test for lecturership and free coaching classes organized in the campus. Dr. Usha Aggarwal, Incharge Wing-II, Dr. Reena Choudhary H.O.D, Chemistry, Dr.K.L.Kaushik, HOD, Maths, Dr.A.S,Yadav, HOD Physics & Dr. Poonam Anand, Coordinator, M.Sc. program and senior faculty from other departments were also present. An entertaining cultural program was presented by the freshers and was appreciated by one and all. The students were served refreshments and were given one academic folder each. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Sabir Hussain, Dept. of Chemistry at the end of the function.

Department of Management & Computer Science Aggarwal College Ballabgarh organised an Induction Ceremony on 04.09.2017 for the students of BCA, BBA, BBA (CAM) & B.VOC first year. Dr. Krishan Kant, Principal Aggarwal College Ballabgarh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme was started with alighting the Deepshikha followed by floral welcome to Dr. Krishan Kant. Dr. Sachin Garg, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Shilpa Goel, Department of Management delivered welcome address and introduced students with the Principal. Speaker of the day, Sh. Sanjay Tickoo, Dean NIIT's Business in Emerging Markets shared his views on digital sunami. He emphasized that the world has turned into a global village due to digital revolution. It is only those people who will equip themselves with digitalization & latest trends that will survive in the extremely competitive era.

Several new students of different U.G classes shared their views as to how they got to know about this college & why they took admission in the college. Dr.

Shilpa Goel briefed the students about the Library, NSS, Sports, Computer and other facilities provided in the college. Dr. Sachin Garg focused on the rules & regulations of the college. Dr. Krishan Kant in his address motivated the students to achieve their goals & assured them to provide every possible facility but intern students should remain eager to learn new things with full determination and discipline.

ACTIVITIES AT A GLANCESeven Day Campaign on Computer Literacy

HIV/AIDS Awareness Workshop

The College organized a seven-day campaign (4-10 July, 2017) on Computer Literacy under Outreach Programme in the adopted village Chandawali in Ballabgarh. This campaign was run by Department of Computer Science under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta. The objective of this campaign was to enhance the IT skills of the villagers of Chandawali. From time to time, the College keeps organizing a variety of social and creative activities for Chandawali. Head of Department, Computer Science, Dr. Sachin Garg said that on the lines of Skill India, we have launched Computer Literacy Campaign, whose purpose is to apprise our youth with technical knowledge as per market needs. Young people should gain the knowledge of computer nuances. On this occasion, Dr. Krishna Kant Gupta, Principal said that we are continuously making efforts for the multifaceted development of Gram Chandawali. The College is organizing many programs on cleanliness, health, and education in order to establish it as an ideal village.

Under the aegis of Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh organised a

stnumber of events from 1 August 2017 to 15 August 2017 under, World AIDS Awareness Society as directed by DHE and Haryana State AIDS Control Society, Panchkula. On 9th August, 2017, Dr. Anup Singh, Deputy Civil Surgeon of Badshah Khan Govt.

Hospital, Faridabad was invited as the Keynote Speaker and he informed the students of various reasons & remedies for HIV/AIDS in detail. He expressed his concern over the increasing number of AIDS patients and also said that the use of injections in drugs is one of the main reasons of the widespread increase in number of AIDS cases worldwide.

He also advised students that we should be sympathetic towards AIDS patients and prevention from AIDS is the best course. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, while addressing the students on this

occasion, made them take oath of good behaviour and also said that the culture and civilization of India has been a saviour of the people even though India is second in the world is terms of population but still it is very low in world ranking in number of AIDS patients. All the three units of the college Red Ribbon Club and Youth Red Cross participated in the

program. Program convener, Dr. Jaypal Singh informed that under this Program Essay Writing, Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competitions were organised. Students sent a message by making a human chain. A film made by Haryana AIDS Control Society was also screened during this event. Dr. Vinod Rathi, Program officer of Youth Red Cross, Unit-II and Dr. Lovekesh, Program officer of Unit-III were also present during this programme and encouraged the students to spread awareness about AIDS.

TALENT HUNTAggarwal College, Ballabgarh organized a 'Talent

thHunt' in all three wings on 9 August 2017 under the supervision of Dr. K.L. Kaushik. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta while addressing the students explained the importance of extra-curricular activities to them. While encouraging the students, he said that the college provides opportunities to bring out the hidden skills of the students and he also mentioned that it is the responsibility of the teachers to bring out and polish the talent of the students. During the program, students exhibited their skills and potential through declamation, poetry-recitation, dance, drama, music, mime etc.

The program was organized by Mrs. Kiran Anand, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Dr. Shobhna Goel, Dr. Shilpa Goel, Dr. Usha Choudhary and Dr. Renu Maheshwari. The first-year students of all the streams participated with full zeal. On this occasion the Principal of the college

made the students take pledge to make India free from corruption, poverty, communalism, terrorism and casteism and contribute towards the building of New India.

Department of the College on 11 August 2017 on the occasion of Haryana Golden Jubilee Celebrations, which is being celebrated from 1 November 2016 to 31 October 2017 across Haryana, as directed by DHE. The topic of the contest was 'Contribution of Haryana in the Indian Freedom Struggle (1857-1947)'. The selected teams of B.A. and B.Com-I, II, III years participated in this contest. The first position in the contest was bagged by the team of students of BA-II Year, second by team of B.A III and third rank by B.Com-I Honourable

Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta congratulated the winners and blessed them for their bright future. The event was organised under the guidance of HOD, HistoryDr. Jay Pal Singh. He also congratulated all the winners and mentioned that the role of quiz contest is spreading awareness.

On the theme of Indian Historical Heritage, the Spot Painting Competition was organized by the INTACH Young Heritage Club of the College. A total of 27 students of History Department participated in the event. Principal, Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, informed that the club is regularly organizing various activities and educational tours for students to make them aware of the cultural & historical heritage of India. He encouraged the students to contribute towards the activities of the club and share its responsibilities. Dr. Jaypal Singh, informed that there are around 100 students who are the members of the club & have taken pledge to conserve the culture & heritage of India. The prizes to winners will be awarded by Sh. Anand Mehta, a well- known

educationist, Chapter of Faridabad. He is also the convener of the Faridabad Chapter of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage.

A Visit to Women Police Station Sector-16 Faridabad was organized by the College, under the supervision of Associate Prof. Mrs. Kamal Tandon and Dr. Poonam Anand with the help of Women Cell Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh. Around 80 girl students visited the police station and met SHO Mrs. Sushil there who gave them information regarding FIR Act, domestic violence, rape cases and women and child helpline nos. 1091, 1098.She also told that there are three Counselling Cells in Faridabad District i.e. Ballabgarh ,NIT and Faridabad. She encouraged the students to be brave and to speak up against any problem faced by them. Students took keen interest and listened carefully The purpose of this visit was to aware the girl students about working of police and to remove their hesitation. ACP Ms. Pooja Dabla helped a lot in arranging this visit successfully.

A parent-teacher Meeting was organised on 10th September 2017, in Aggarwal College under the co-ordinator Dr. K.L. Kaushik in which a total of 120 parents participated along with students. Dr. K.L. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta carefully listened to the suggestions of the parents and told that as per the suggestions from last PTM the information, about the absent students is sent via SMS to the parents daily. A suggestion box was also made available to the students to put their views about hygiene, water supply and canteen. Dr. M. P Singh, Chief Trainer of the camp educated the volunteers on First Aid & Home remedies. Dr.

Jaypal Singh, Chief Co-ordinator of the event, told that the camp focussed on education regarding Bone Fracture, various bandages, burn remedies, drown remedies, unconscious remedies, accidental help, snake bite, monkey bite and Mad-dog bite cases. Poster Making were “Green Chemistry” and “Chemistry in everyday life”. There were 11 entries for this contest out of which Meenakshi of B.Sc-V sem NM stood first, Ravina B.Sc-Vsem. NMSF stood second and Shivani of B.Sc-I sem NM got III prize. In Inter Class Wall Magazine competition, team from B.Sc-III was awarded First Prize, team from B.Sc-I got II prize and team from B.Sc-II was adjudged at III position.

Inquisitive', a quiz competition was organized in the thCollege on 12 September, 2017 by the English

Language Society. The Competition covered the questions from a plethora of subjects like EVS, English Language, English Literature and Visuals etc. Students from all the years of B.A. and M.A. English participated enthusiastically in the competition. The contest was attended by a large number of students

Aggarwal College organised a one-day Anaemia Check-up camp under the aegis of Rotary Club, Sec-7, Faridabad on 14-09-2017. A team of two technicians from Rotary Club took samples of 370 girl students and female staff of the college.

Haryana State Youth Red Cross Society, Chandigarh organised a Six-day camp from 15-20 September, 2017 at Shri Krishan Kripa Dham, Vrindavan. 31 colleges of 18 districts from Haryana participated in this camp. Around 300 Volunteers in the camp were made aware about the history of the society and also about Henry Donald who helped the wounded during World War -I &World War-II and also helped in sending messages to their homes. Volunteers used to parade and meditate in the morning and were

trained on first-aid, blood donation, hygiene and helping the disabled.

During the camp all the volunteers visited almost all the holy places in Mathura & Vrindavan. A total of 10 Volunteers participated in the camp from Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh along with Mr. Lovekesh. Volunteers said that the camp filled them with new zeal & helping the disabled has become their motto in life. professionally qualified software trainer from N.I.I.T Ltd., Gurgaon, was the Speaker of the day. He delivered his lecture on 'DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION'. This lecture was organized for the final year students of B.Voc., BCA and M.Sc. (C.S). Mr. Rakesh Pandit focused on Digital Transformation process of shifting from traditional approach to new ways of working using digital technologies, full stack developers that can resolve problems on all aspects from front-end to back-end, demonstrated Agile developers, Process Re-engineers etc.

He also elaborated on new technologies required by the industries, Multi-skilled product engineers, Open Source Developers, Solution architects etc. The students took keen interest in this lecture. Students asked questions, and the speaker answered their questions in a meaningful and interesting way. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sachin Garg.

speaker by presenting a bouquet of flowers. Dr. Atwal presented her views on 'The Role of women in National Movement.' While rejecting the use of word `contribution` she mentioned that women have always been the part of national movement and were associated with it from the beginning.

She divided the role of women in national movement in stages. In the first stage, they contributed in social reforms and reforming the position of women in society. In second stage, contribution of women in constitutional area and in third stage, she talked about the contribution of women in post Jalianwala Bagh massacre era. She also discussed the role & contribution of Muslim women in National Movement. Towards the end she answered various questions asked by students.

At last, Mrs. Vinita Sharma, Assistant Professor, History Department thanked everyone for being a part of the program.

An MoU between Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh and NTUST Taipai, Taiwan was also signed. Around 308 delegates and resource persons from Japan, Taiwan, Nepal, Malaysia and India participated in it and shared their research on Solar Energy Conversion, Nano Material, High Sound Pressure Measurement, Refinery

Process,Hybrid Transparent Electrodes, Heavy Metal ION Sensors, Effect of Gamma Irradiation etc. There were five technical sessions which were chaired by eminent scholars and experts from all over the country and abroad. Sahare, D.U., Prof. Amitanshu Pattanaik DRDO, Delhi, Prof. M.D. Shrisat, Dr.BAM University Aurangabad, Mr. C.U.Aniz, UOP, Honeywell Co. Gurgaon, Prof. R.G. Sonkawade, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Prof. R.P.Chauhan, NIT, Kurukshetra and Prof. Ashok Sharma DCRUST, Murthal. In the Valedictory Function, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, V.C. YMCAUS&T, Faridabad was the Chief Guest and Chairperson was Mr. Devender Kumar Gupta, President Governing Body, Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh. The summary was presented by Dr.Sanjeev Gupta. Seminar on Public Speaking

A One-day career counselling seminar was organised on 12th September 2017 by Commerce Department in Wing-III of the College. Extra-Curricular activities were organised. in the college with the encouragement of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta for the bright future of the students.

Under the guidance of Head of the Department of Management Dr. Shilpa Goel, Head of the Dept. of Commerce, Dr. Praveen Gupta and Sh. Digvijay Dubey of Path Maker Academy gave information about options available to students after graduation like SSC, Bank PO, CGL etc. Sh. Dubey informed the students through the medium of presentation and also took feedback from students.

A seminar on the topic 'How to do well in Extempore & Public Speaking' was organised on 15th September 2017 in Wing-II Seminar Hall. Dr. Akash Sharma from ITM group of Institutions, a senior management professional & seasoned entrepreneur with over 21years of diverse experience in MNCs & Indian Corporate discussed & shared his experience with our students and gave valuable tips regarding how to make themselves trained for extempore & public speaking

which is the need of the day to face the competitive world. Students took keen interest & made this interactive session a success. Dr. Poonam Anand gave a vote of thanks to the team from ITM group of Institutions and to the audience.

A Workshop on 'Career in Management Courses (CAT/MAT)' by Career and Counseling Cell in Wing-II was organized for students of BA-III/B.Com-III/B.Sc.-III year on 4th August 2017. Students were told regarding the various opportunities available after doing Post-graduation in Management and how to

prepare for the admission tests in reputed institutes. The speaker made our students aware of the importance of communication skills.

India, GEA Project USA along with 11 member team of USA.. In his address Principal Dr. Krishan Kant said that such workshops help to widen the perspective and raise the vision of students. He believed that the students of the college will be able to employ themselves in suitable jobs in the changing scenario. Chief Guest Dr. Suresh Bedi, Senior Economist, MRIU, Faridabad, in his Inaugural Address said that this workshop is the need of the hour as it will make students aware of making the best possible use of available resources. He further said that it will help students in knowing how inflation, unemployment, decreasing agriculture and different trades are affecting international economy. He applauded the efforts of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh in organizing this workshop. Through this workshop, he said, good economic intelligence is

generated which will help solve world economic problems. The Chairperson of the workshop, Mr. Aadil Chital Wala, said that the related economic aspects will be enumerated in such a way that all the participants will be fully benefitted by it.In the Keynote Address, Mr. Federico Mele said that the aim of organizing this workshop is to help people face the challenges imposed by demonetization and GST and also to help new and young entrepreneurs access funds to start their own business and thus help India's economy grow. He also said that coming to Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh is a dream come true for him. The theme of the workshop was presented by Dr. Manoj Shukla, in which he told that the five-day long workshop is divided into different concepts per day covering the major aspects of Economics. Such workshops and seminars have been organized from time to time for the benefit of students and teachers. In the Valedictory ceremony held on 24th August 2017, the winners of the Team Project were

felicitated. Mr. Federico said that their visit to Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh proved to be quite fruitful and memorable as the workshop helped them in exchanging knowledge and experience between USA and India. The Global Economics Awareness Project hopes to be back to Aggarwal College for future workshops. The Chief Guest of the Ceremony, Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta told that such workshops help the students in modern global environment and thus help in moulding their personality in facing the challenges being imposed on them. The participant students were also quite enthusiastic with the interaction and said that such workshops opened altogether new vistas for them and encouraged them to explore more.

A workshop was organized by Commerce Forum for B.Com-III year students in Wing-I auditorium of l College on 1st September 2017 under the guidance of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta. Mrs. Rajni Aggarwal welcomed the Keynote Speaker Mr. Tarun Sharma who is a founder and president of NGO 'The Rising'. The topic of workshop was 'Wake up India'. As a speaker Mr. Tarun Sharma addressed several schools, colleges and organizations in India. He has also shared his expertise with top most organizations like RBI, Haryana Institution of Public Administration, Maruti Udyog, Godrej and many more. Workshop was very informative for the students. He told students how to be passionate in their life to achieve their goals. Students asked various questions and got satisfactory answers. All the faculty members of Commerce Department were present there.

In the state level Archery Championship organised in Bhiwani district of Haryana from 23-09-2017 to 24-09-2017, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh won gold medals. B.Sc. III year students Karamveer Sorat and Akash Rajput won the gold medals and brought laurels to the college. A total of 350 players participated from all the districts of Haryana. Principal of the college Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta congratulated the winners for the achievement and appreciated their hard work and encouraged them to continue their hard work and zeal. On this occasion, President of College Management Committee, Sh. Devender Gupta also congratulated the winners and blessed them for bright future.

Ms. Pooja Huda, of BA III year participated in the Softball World Cup as a member of the Indian Softball team and has brought laurels to herself and the college through her performance. She is the only player to be selected for the National Softball team, from Haryana to participate in
