CONGRATULATIONS on your purchase of a FarmTek nipple drinker system. You are now the owner of the best performing nipple system available.
This manual is designed to aid you in the management and installation of your FarmTek nipple system. Following the recommendations and guidelines within this manual will ensure that you get the optimum level of performance and years of trouble free operation from your nipple system.

Identify Components:Locate packing slip and make sure all the systems parts have arrived. After you have checked all the cartons, if you are missing any parts please call 1-800-FARMTEK immediately.
Important Management and Installation Information:System Management: To ensure optimum system performance carefully follow management guidelines outlined on page 4. Sloped Houses: Never push water uphill. Flushing System: New installations must be flushed, before birds are housed, to remove any debris in system lines from handling and installation. System should also be flushed after each grow out period. (See page 4) Filtration: Inlet water supply must be filtered through a 20 micron or smaller filter cartridge before entering systems lines. See page 16 for recommended filtration system layout. Medicating: Medicators or proportioners must be located before filtration system. See page 16 for recommended filtration system layout. Birds Per Regulator: For optimum system performance we recommend housing no more than 3,000 birds per regulator. Water Meters: One water meter per house, installed between the filtration system and regulators. Bird Placement:
Grow Out: Regularly check: filters, height of water pipe and for air blockages in water lines. Adjust sight tube water height according to chart above. Post Grow Out: High pressure flush lines after each grow out period. Clean end kit and regulator riser tubes with riser tube brush STK#WF7120.

Nipples are easily disassembled for cleaning or removing debris. Simply grasp nipple’s stainless steel body with pliers then twist and pull it out of its plastic body. The nipple’s components may then be easily cleaned or inspected. To remove metering pin simply push it out through the top of the plastic body.

Assembly Instructions Be extremely careful not to cross thread fittings.
1. Wrap the pipe thread ends of fittings #1, #2, and #3 at least five times with pipe tape.
2. Assemble fittings #1, #2, #3, and #4. (See diagram below)
3. Slide clear 5/8" PVC riser tube (#6) onto the adapter fitting (#2). The tube must be slipped completely over the barb of the fitting.
4. Tighten screw clamp (#5) around the riser tube (#6) and adapter fitting (#2).
5. Slip the riser tube spring (#7) over riser tube and push snug against the screw clamp on barb of adapter fitting (#2).
6. Drop float ball (#9) into the riser tube (#6).
7. Insert riser cap (#8) into the end of the riser tube (#6).
8. Tighten screw clamp (#5) around riser tube (#6) and riser cap (#8) as shown.
9. Glue pipe coupling (#3) onto square water pipe at end of line. Apply a generous coat of PVC cement to square water pipe, and to square water pipe coupling (#3). The glued joint must be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours before pressurizing or the joint may leak.

Assembly Instructions Be extremely careful not to cross thread fittings. NOTE: All glued joints must be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours before pressurizing or they may leak.
1. Wrap pipe tape at least five times, around male pipe thread on the elbow fitting (#1). Thread fittings into inlet and outlet of the slope compensating regulator (#17).
2. Apply a coat of PVC cement to three 2-1/8" PVC pipe sections (#18) and fittings #2 and #3 in Section A of the diagram to the right. Assemble and let dry.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for Section B.
4. Apply a coat of PVC cement to one of the PVC pipe sections (#18) in sections A and B and to the elbow fittings (#1). Assemble and let dry.
5. Assemble the fittings in Section C as shown using PVC cement to seal the fittings together and let dry. Be sure ball valve handle is opposite open ends of tees.
6. Apply PVC cement to the fittings #6, #8 and the PVC pipe #18 on the ends of sections A & B. Assemble sections A, B and C and let dry.
7. Wrap pipe tape at least five times around male pipe threads on the adapter square fittings (#4 and #10). Thread fittings #4 into #5 and #10 into #9.
8. Apply PVC cement to fittings # 5, 9, 6, 8 and two 2-1/8" PVC pipe sections (#18). Assemble and let dry.
9. Slide the clear 5/8" PVC riser tube (#16) over the insert fitting on the slope compensation regulator (#17).
10. Tighten screw clamp (#15) around riser tube (#16) and inserting fitting on slope compensation regulator.
11. Slip the riser tube spring (#13) over rise tube (#16) and push over insert fitting to screw clamp (#15) on slope compensation regulator.
12. Drop float ball (#14) into riser tube.
13. Inset riser cap (#11) into rise tube (#16).
14. Tighten clamp around rise tube (#16) and riser cap (#11).
15. Repeat steps 9 through 13 for the second riser tube assembly. NOTE: When flushing system lines, you must close valves A and C and open valve B. (See diagram to the right.)

Assembly Instructions Be extremely careful not to cross thread fittings.
1. Wrap pipe tape at least five times around male pipe thread on fittings #1, #3, #4, #6 and #8.
2. Thread square fitting (#1) into female tee fitting (#2) and square fitting (#6) into the ball valve (#5).
3. Thread close nipple fitting (#4) into ball valve (#5), and the female tee fitting (#2) onto the close nipple fitting (#4).
4. Thread close nipple fitting (#3) into the female tee fitting (#2).
5. Thread adapter (#8) into elbow fitting (#7). Push clear 5/8" PVC riser tube (#9) onto insert adapter (#8). Be sure hose is slipped completely over fittings barb.
6. Tighten clamp (#10) around the riser tube (#9).
7. Slip the riser tube spring (#12) over riser tube (#9) and push to screw clamp on barb of insert adapter (#8).
8. Drop float ball into riser tube.
9. Insert riser cap (#14) into riser tube (#9).
10. Tighten clamp around riser tube (#9) and riser cap (#14).
11. Thread completed riser section elbow fitting (#7) onto completed water line section close nipple fitting (#3).

Hang a section of conduit from the winch system drop cords at a comfortable working height.
Insert another section of conduit and hang using the winch system-drop cords.
Continue hanging sections until all the conduits are hung.

2. After hanging all the conduit, start at one end of the line and connect one section of square water pipe to the conduit using the orange hanger brackets. NOTE: The first bracket should be positioned as close to the end of the line as possible. Evenly space the hanger brackets every 2' down the section of pipe. NOTE: Brackets should be no closer than 2" to a nipple.

Repeat step 3, over the entire length of the line. Then, starting at one end of the line, untie drop cords from conduit and tie them to the top of the orange hanger brackets using cord adjusters.

3. Connect the next section of water pipe to the conduit with orange hanger brackets spaced every 2 feet. The first hanger bracket should be placed exactly 2' from the last bracket on the first section of pipe. Brackets should be no closer than 2" to a nipple.
Next, connect the two sections of water pipe using a black coupling and two squeeze clamps (see illustration below). Slip the coupling and clamps onto the pipe then squeeze the clamps tight. There should be a 1/4" gap between pipe ends in coupling.

Install flush kit by gluing square pipe adapter #6 (#6 Flush Kit Installation page 6-7) onto water pipe and attach conduit to top of regulator using clamp #29 page 7. Apply a coat of PVC cement to the pipe and fitting #6 then assemble. This is a critical joint, be sure to use an adequate amount of PVC cement. The glued joint must be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours before pressurizing or the joint may leak.
To complete flush kit installation, hang regulator from winch system using drop cord with cord adjuster. Lastly, attach garden hose (WF1170) water supply line to flush kit inlet.

6. Install end kit onto system lines by gluing square adapter (#3 End Kit Assembly Page 5) onto square water pipe. Apply a coat of PVC cement to the pipe and fitting #3 then assemble them. This is a critical joint, be sure to use an adequate amount of PVC cement. The glued joint must be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours before pressurizing or the joint may leak.

Brooder break connector is installed by simply gluing square pipe adapters #1, and #6 to ends of square water pipe at the brooder curtain.
Insert S-Hook into conduit end at regulator. Next measure correct length of shock wire. Attach shock wire to springs open end using the provided cable sleeve.

Install shock wire before pressurizing system lines. To install shock wire complete steps 8A, 8B and 8C. Items required: Spring (1), Cable Sleeve (2), S-Hooks (2) and Shock Wire.

8c. At end kit hook an S-Hook into the end of the conduit. Then attach the shock wire to the S-Hook using the provided aluminum cable sleeve (before crimping the sleeve be sure the shock wire spring is fully extended).

First, drain your system. Then remove all of your cup drinkers from the water line. Your new Super Flow nipple drinker system will use your present cup systems water line, shocker wire, carrier system and winching hardware. Reusing these perfectly good components saves you money. Use your existing winching hardware!
Loosen the shock wire guides that hold the water line in position. Next, rotate the water lines of your cup system 180°. Then tighten the shock wire guides around the water pipe securing it in position. Your water lines are now ready for your new FarmTek Super Flow nipple drinkers. Conversion saves time and money! Install FarmTek 360° Action Super Flow™ Nipple Drinkers into the same holes that your cup drinkers were in. Our best nipple drinker. This 360° nipple perfectly waters your birds while keeping your litter dry. Does not require a drip cup. All sealing components are 100% stainless steel. IMPORTANT: Nipples that are replacing cups: Wrap nipple's threads at least 5 times with pipe tape. Do not thread nipple fully into pipe, leave 3 or 4 threads showing. Nipples added to line: Drill 23/64" holes for nipples. Be sure to drill holes very straight and in the center of pipe. Once holes are drilled thread nipples into pipe by hand using a standard ratchet. Do not thread nipples fully into pipe, leave 3 or 4 threads showing. Complete 5 sections approximately 50' and pressurize line. Check for leaks around threads of nipples. If no leaks are present, complete remaining sections. If leaks are discovered call FarmTek immediately at 1-800-327-6835. Lastly, install your new FarmTek regulators, flush kits and end kits. Once you have completed this easy four step conversion you will have one of the best nipple drinker systems available for only a fraction of the cost of an entire new system.
