My Dear Ones,

Integrity removes the self fulfilling negative prophecies in your

life, in your cognizance, in your inner space! When you start something, if

you just decide to remove the negative cognizance, suddenly you will have

the courage to grasp the whole scene of the action you are going to get

into. You always internally prepare yourself for facing any failure. That does

not need to strengthen your belief that you’re going to have failure. As you

are preparing, you gather the tools to handle the failures and each time you

remember those possible failures, you make it as a commitment to yourself

that you will have failure. So, I am telling you now, don’t plan for failure, plan

for success and you will always have success!

Be Blissful!

8life strategy

The wise grieve neiTher for Those who have departed nor for those who have

not departed. This thought opens up many

different dimensions of life. It is the wise

who do not grieve for the departed, as they

understand that an individual who has spent his

life in growth will always continue to live and

the one who hasn’t was long lost.

There is a clear difference beTween growing and aging. One who proceeds

through life’s experiences and uses them to

constantly add authenticity and integrity to his

cognizance, grows. Taking every experience of

life as a lesson in living these truths expands

the consciousness. A person who has grown

over time is one who will live on regardless of

his physical presence.

one who is Tired aT The end of all of

life’s lessons is only aging. When there is no

will to stretch out as far as possible, a person

is operating from engraved memories. For

example, when someone is irrationally scared

of riding a bike. He doesn't allow himself to even

consider the possibility that it is a perfectly

safe act, let alone stretch out to understand

the root cause of the fear and eliminate it. This

is inauthenticity, and it is the reason for any

kind of fear. Inauthenticity is the unwillingness

to stretch to your peak potential in the given

moment of life.

due To lack of inTegriTy arises greed. Integrity is fulfilling the words you give to

yourself and to others. Instead of fulfilling the

words given to yourself and to others, you

frantically gather more and more words! When

people fail to fulfill the words they made to

themselves initially, they try to think of what

they want further, planning more and focusing

less on what was to be fulfilled initially. When

they don’t take responsibility for things, there

begins the pattern of depending on others,

which makes a person feel powerless. This

feeling causes worry, as there is always the

chance that the thing one depends

on will no longer exist. Selfishness

arises from the lack of willingness of a

person to enrich another with his own

experiences. This selfishness gives way

to a constant need for attention from

others, as the person is unwilling to

enrich himself or others around him.

when The emoTions of fear,

greed, worry and need for attention

take their toll, the person is left

exhausted by life. Such a person has

simply aged with time, not grown.

every momenT spenT in growing is an indication of

life. When the consciousness is

nurtured by authenticity, integrity,

responsibility and enrichment,

there is no doubt that the soul will

never depart, even if the body

departs. A wise man does not

grieve the passing of a person who

has grown, as he knows that he

continues to live on.

for every momenT of fear, greed, worry and selfishness,

there is dullness. One could even say

that this is death, as the soul has long

since departed.

There is a Technique ThaT nurTures growTh. Keep a diary that

records every emotion lived during the

day. For every experience, understand

either there is growth and enrichment

of the consciousness or there is aging

that comes from exhaustion. This

gives life a fresh start. It sends out the

message that every experience in life,

good or bad, can be used either to grow

or to age.

Initiation is a powerful tool that allows a disciple to get a glimpse of satori, or the Truth. It defies logic and understanding.

What is Initiation?

EnlightEnEd MastErs havE sEvEral MEthods of expressing the truth to their disciples. One such method uses words. When a teacher expresses a truth to a disciple in this way it is called teaching. While words can be a powerful tool to convey messages and truths, a Master has the ability to directly transmit an experience to a disciple. This method is called initiation.

initiation is a powErful tool that allows a person to get a glimpse of the truth. When some truth which comes out of an enlightened inner space suddenly clicks with a person, it is called initiation. Initiation does not mean chanting some special mantra in someone’s ears, or doing something special. It means directly experiencing a great truth which has the power to bring about a transformation in the person being initiated. Some part of the mind may of course continue to resist the truth since it is too strong. Too many things may need to be changed if the person accepts the truth and starts expressing it in his life. However, the core of his being will resonate with the truth. His heart will feel connected with the truth which the Master is expressing.

for initiation to happEn, only two things are needed. The first thing is: listening. In Vedantic tradition there is a beautiful word shravana, which

means intense LISTENING. Listening is God. Everything starts from listening. Usually, within the space of a few minutes a person’s mind goes through many thoughts, just like flipping channels at home on a television. For the transmission of truth to take place, one’s attentiveness should be only with the Master. The second thing that is needed is to be receptive and open to the truths being expressed. One should just relax and go with the flow. It is also important to not wait for or expect anything to happen. Rather, one must let go of preconceived, prejudiced ideas and hypothetical questions; the words and expression of the Master will simply dissolve all the confusion and doubts.

initiation is an Extraordinary ExpEriEncE that can happen to any person at any time. Even if a disciple has already undergone the process, they can still be initiated by another Master anytime afterwards. One must only remember the two important prerequisites: Be present and relax. In Sanskrit, a mantra is defined as ‘Mantrayate iti mantra’. ‘Mantrayate’ means the truths which not only bring you out of depression, but once and for all remove the very source of depression in you! An initiation is the direct experience of such a truth, even if it is just a glimpse. The Master can offer that glimpse to a disciple, but only a disciple can prepare himself for it.

Navadhi Kriya for a Healthy Body

siddha & ayurveda

Navadhi kriya is a small and simple

exercise to balance the three doshas of

our body. The three doshas are vata, pitta

and kapha, and they aptly represent the

three forces of Nature; the air, fire and

earth elements. When they are in balance,

the body becomes free of any illness or

disease. When we bring integrity within our

thinking and take ownership of our body, we

remove the mental blocks that cling on to a

diseased body. Just uttering the words ‘I own

my body. I declare to have a healthy body’, to

oneself and doing this simple kriya will help

a person to create a yogic body.

This kriya is practiced in many Ayurveda

hospitals as a part of the initial cleansing

procedures before actual treatment.

The kriya involves inducing vomiting by

massaging the innermost part of the throat.

The mechanism of action is that excess

kapha from the throat, vata from the chest

and pitta from liver, all three are expelled

out, thus balancing them. It is strongly

recommended for the initiated Niraahaaris

(initiated disciples don’t eat solid food) to

do this kriya regularly, at least once a week.

Ayurveda teaches that regular vomiting of

the pitta clears the intestines and removes

the excess belly fat. The dis-balanced pitta

of the body gets removed from the system

through the oral route.

Ayurvedic scientists also claim that

this kriya can heal even cancer, since cancer

is nothing but an imbalance of the three

doshas.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Clip your nails and clean the

thumb well before proceeding.

2. Apply a pinch of Haritaki powder

on your fingertip. Applying Haritaki powder

will help get rid of ulcers, if any, and remove

bad breath.

3. Massage the upper palate in a

circular manner. Allow vomiting to happen.

4. Lie down and rest the body for

approx. 45 min, to allow the body to settle

down.

19 bliss bitesGreen Peas Snack

IngredIents

1/2 kg fresh green peas

1 slice of ginger, grated

1 bunch of fresh coriander

leaves, chopped

2 tsp. fresh lemon juice

2 tsp. cumin seeds (jeera)

3 tsp. coriander powder

1 pinch of asafoetida (heeng)

1/2 tsp. red chilli powder

1/2 tsp. turmeric powder

(haldi)

1 tsp. salt (as per taste)

1/2 cup water

1 tbsp. vegetable cooking oil

Green peas (Pisum sativum) are one of the most nutritious leguminous vegetables which originate from the sub-

Himalayan plains of North-West India. Fresh green peas are a rich source of folic acid, ascorbic acid, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin

B complex, proteins, minerals, fibre and calories and have zero cholesterol. Not surprisingly, they are a popular ingredient in

many Indian dishes. This green peas snack is ideal as a breakfast item, a main course dish or an evening snack that is very easy

to prepare.

PreParatIon

1) Shell the fresh green peas by splitting open the pea pods and taking out the green pea seeds inside. Separate all the green pea seeds and wash them well.

2) Add a tbsp. of vegetable cooking oil to a *pressure cooker and allow it to heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them crackle. Then, add the red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and the asafoetida. Mix well.

3) To this mixture, now add the shelled green pea seeds. Mix well. Now add the salt. Mix again. When the spices have mixed well with the peas, add the half cup water and mix again. Now close the lid of the pressure cooker

and allow it to simmer for 15 mins. After 15 mins, turn off the heat and let the pressure cooker cool down.

4) Serve the hot, cooked green peas and garnish with chopped coriander, lemon juice and grated ginger on the top.

The dish can be eaten as a snack or as a side dish with breads or chapatis.

*In the absence of a pressure cooker, use a wok. After mixing all the ingredients, cover the wok with a lid, not allowing any vapour to escape, and allow the dish to simmer for approx. 20 mins, turning frequently.

Mind is an ACTION !

‘Tada Drastuh Svarupe Vasthanam’(Patanjali Yoga Sutra, Sutra 3 - Verse I)

uncluTching is The essence of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. The ancient Indian sage Patanjali, who was the founder of the ancient yogic sciences, condensed the truth, explanations of which would occupy volumes, into this one short verse. According to him, unclutching or the cessation of the mind and all its thoughts, can be achieved by understanding a few simple concepts.

The firsT concepT To imbibe is ThaT your mind is noT an objecT, iT is an acTion. We always feel that the mind is bigger than our brain. We always say that the brain is only physical, but the mind is subtle, so it holds a greater power over the brain. However, one of my masters once told me a very beautiful statement - One action of your brain is called mind. We can do many things with our legs, like walking and running. In the same way, the mind or thinking is just another action of your brain. Cognizing this truth will make you realize that you can relax from it at any time.

Adapted from Nithyananda’s Discourse on the Patanjali Yoga Sutras in March, 2009 delivered in Vancouver, Canada

Page 21: Nithyananda Times - March, 2013

21 be unclutched

The momenT you realize that you are

responsible for your thinking, you will stop. Only when

you don’t want to take the responsibility for it, will

you go on postponing and your mind will continue to

enslave you. This is the essence of this verse - to take

responsibility for your subtle actions called the “mind”.

Do you ever ask yourself why you stopped or started

doing a particular action? No! You simply know why,

and that’s why you performed the action in the first

place. In the same way, you can start, stop and restart

your own mind - if you take the responsibility and do

it. Taking responsibility for each and every action, and

having the awareness that all situations around us

and within us are a reflection of our own inner space is

the only way to live authentically. This includes taking

responsibility for our own minds.

The second concepT is acceptance. In Zen

philosophy, there is a small story: There was a great

enlightened master who had an enlightened disciple

called Suzuki. When Suzuki’s master died, he began

to cry. All of the master’s other disciples came and

asked Suzuki why he was crying, because after all, an

enlightened being cannot cry! Suzuki retorted that

if that holds true, then he was no longer interested in

enlightenment. He could not be so insensitive, because

he knew how much he will miss the master’s physical

presence. Then, another disciple asked him, “What

about acceptance? Have you been teaching it to us

all these years without experiencing it yourself?”. In

response to this, Suzuki beautifully explained that there

are two levels of acceptance. The first is acceptance

of the outer situation - whatever is happening around

a person. That is surrendering to the now, the present

moment. Experiencing certain emotions in response to

the outer world situation and accepting those emotions,

is the second level of acceptance. That is accepting the inner world situation - accepting that certain outer world

situations will bring about certain inner world changes

in you. Suzuki was accepting his master’s death and

also accepting the pain he felt in response to it. He was

completely in acceptance.

if you accepT only the outer world and try to be

calm and collected all the time without accepting the

anger or pain in you, you cannot be established in your

true nature. When you are in complete acceptance,

suddenly you will see that you are established in your

nature, that you are no more in the chaos that your

mind creates, but simply pure consciousness. Being

established in this state is known as ‘unclutching’.

When thoughts disappear and cessation happens, it

results in relaxation into your own true nature.

The very idea of complete acceptance is a

technique in itself. There is no need to practice any

additional meditation in order to live this. The concept

of complete acceptance, if understood and practiced,

will establish you in the state of unclutching. Unless

you are able to completely accept situations, you

cannot unclutch. After acceptance, you will realize

that your mind is just an action and you must take the

responsibility to stop it. Just internalizing these two

truths will become a technique in itself and you will be

unclutched.

DeDicateD to LorD Shiva, the Hindu God of rejuvenation, Maha Shivaratri is a celebration of the expression of Divine energy in the cosmos.

accorDing to veDic textS, on this day Shiva first expressed himself on the planet earth. It is said that Brahma, the god of creation, and Vishnu, the god of sustenance, were fighting over who was supreme. Shiva, appearing before them as a shaft of light, states that whoever can find the beginning or end of His form will be supreme. Brahma flew towards Shiva’s head, while Vishnu searched for His feet. Neither had any luck. Realizing defeat, Vishnu gave up, while Brahma decided to cheat his way to victory. Upon seeing a screw pine flower falling from Shiva’s ears,

he took it to Shiva saying that he brought it himself. Shiva knew it was a lie. Shiva appeared in all His glory, and pronounced that Brahma will not be worshiped in his divine form by people and neither will the flower be used in the worship of Shiva. Shiva made Brahma realize his inauthenticity and uplifted the world through His Divine form. The message from this historic tale is that neither intellect (represented by Brahma) nor wealth (represented by Vishnu) by itself can lead one to the ultimate. Seeing Brahma, Shiva revealed Himself to the whole world.

the SuperconSciouS energy haS to reveal itself to the world and elevate the world to its level. Shiva Ratri is the night when the Divine revealed itself to the world and elevated the world. The first and foremost incarnation since time immemorial happened in the cosmos on the midnight of Shiva Ratri. From this darkness the great light beam happened, the conscious shaft expressed. Shiva, the multidimensional incarnation, happened on the timeline on Maha Shiva Ratri. Each dimension of Mahadeva expresses one dimension of Jeevan Mukti (living enlightenment) in its full form. Shiva Ratri is a great opportunity for everyone to raise themselves to the Shiva consciousness, to the Shiva state. Each person is an embodiment of Shiva. In everyone, Shiva is radiating Himself, He is available, He is present. Shiva Ratri is the time when one can start radiating that Shiva consciousness NOW.

hoLi, the “feStivaL of coLorS,” is a Hindu festival celebrating the commemoration of the spring season. Once an observance of good harvests and fertile land, it is marked as a time of rejoicing in the abundant colors of spring and bidding farewell to winter. Celebrations consists of holding bonfires and throwing colored powder at one another. Yet, aside from these exuberant celebrations, Holi’s roots lie in an ancient Hindu legend, which itself adds significance to the festivities.

accorDing to the LegenD, there lived an asura (demon) king named Hiranyakashyap, who was extremely arrogant and felt himself higher than even the Gods. Prahalad was the king’s son who was a faithful devotee of Lord Vishnu. The king asked his son, “Who is greater, God or me?” His son unfalteringly answered “God” as Hiranyakashyap was only a king. This made Hiranyakashyap furious and he decided to kill Prahalad. However, despite numerous attempts to kill his son, Hiranyakashyap failed every time. Prahalad survived poisonings, stampeding elephants, venomous snake attacks and other nefarious plots. Hiranyakashyap then decided to

use his sister Holika to help kill his son.

accorDing to LegenD, hoLika haD been given mystical powers by the gods that made her immune to fire. One day she grabbed Prahalad, and with him on her lap, she sat in the middle of a large fire. Despite the dire situation, Prahalad remained devoted to Lord Vishnu and he went unscathed, while Holika herself was burned to death. Shortly thereafter, Lord Vishnu himself killed Hiranyakashyap by appearing from a pillar, taking the form of Lord Narasimha - half man, half animal - to fulfill Prahlad’s words that God is everywhere. Seeing the authenticity of Prahlad, Lord VIshnu Himself came down on the planet earth to fulfill the words uttered by his devotee and protect him.

toDay, hinDuS burn the bonfire of Holika symbolizing the power of devotion and the triumph of spiritual strength over the collective negativity of the society. by nature, goD buiLt you with integrity. Your built-in, natural nature is integrity. That is why when you are in integrity, you feel so full, so complete. Life starts with integrity, authenticity, taking responsibility and enriching yourself and others. integrity is you fulfilling the word and thoughts you give to yourself and to others and experiencing a state of poornatva (completion) with yourself and with life. authenticity is you being established in the peak of your capability and responding to life from who you perceive yourself to be for your own self (mamakara), who you project yourself to be for others (ahamkara), and what others expect you to be for them (anyakara). Your mamakara, ahamkara and anykara need to be aligned. reSponSibiLity is living and responding to life from the truth that you are the source of, and therefore, you are responsible for all happenings in and around you. Only in the space of responsibility life flowers in you. enriching means constantly enriching you and others. Enriching is continuously infusing all these three tattvas in your life and others’ life.

when you Start being integrateD, so much of your inner space is available to you. This naturally brings authenticity in you and makes you take responsibility and continue to enrich yourself and others.

the firSt Sign of non integrity wiLL be that you wiLL feeL everything iS impoSSibLe. Just like for each disease there are symptoms such as knee pain, fainting, headaches, and so on, if you are feeling that everything is impossible in your life, you have a lack of integrity, it is the symptom. You need to sit and complete with yourself.

Change your Past to Change your Future

before changing your future, change your paSt. Immediately, the question arises, ‘How can my past be changed? It has already happened.’ Every idea you carry about your past is wrong. You do not remember your past as it happened, you carry an edited version of your past with you. People usually say, ‘Don’t bother about the past, change your future.’ No! I am saying, don’t bother about your future, change your past! The hangover you carry from the past is the disease you are suffering with. You are not going to be out of the disease until you complete with your past. The load of the past will not even allow you to make any decisions, leave alone execution. Making whatever you think as ‘impossible’ as possible is integrity. Why will anything not be possible? The word ‘impossible’ cannot even exist in your conscious constitution.

thiS Sangha (community) iS the biggeSt miracLe i have DemonStrateD. Built in such a short span of time, inspite of so much beating. If I am possible, nothing is impossible! We just need to carry the past without the load, the inner space of possibility. I am not teaching you positive thinking, that is the biggest negative thinking that can happen to you! All your positive thinking is like a comedian laughing at you, it is not a hero doing great things. When a lion goes into a forest, he doesn’t declare he is the king, everybody knows he is the king. When integrity starts happening in you, you don't declare you are positive, you just make everyone experience you are positivity. Positivity is nothing but the absence of the load of past negativity. Then you just flow in positivity, you just flow in completion.

there iS no Such thing aS practicaLity. Practicality is the most impractical thing in the world. The idea of practicality is nothing but suicidal because it is coming from the past. Any human being has authenticity and inauthenticity both. When you live in authenticity, you will bring the response of authenticity from the other person also. Make it very clear to yourself, you are the source. Success or failure is decided by you inside. Continuously listen to your inner being. Continuously do completions with yourself and others. Feeling powerful inside will make everything a success for you. Feeling powerless inside, nothing will be success for you. When you are feeling powerful, failure doesn’t even enter your breathing space.

What do you really believe about you?

when you Start thinking with integrity, you wiLL know your Strong beLiefS. One of the biggest problems human beings have – you love to be successful, but you deeply believe you are a failure! This is one of the biggest paradox with which human beings are suffering. It shows the lack of integrity in your thinking. Understand, some of your actions may be failure, some of your decisions or dimensions may be a failure, but YOU are never a failure - because you are still breathing!

when you have not LoSt the inSpiration to take the reSponSibiLity for your Life, nothing iS LoSt. If you take the responsibility, even death cannot come near you. With integrity and authenticity, when you take responsibility, the consciousness growing in the body starts happening more intensely. Whether it is to do with health, or creativity, or solving relationship problems, creating wealth or achieving the inner fulfillment, let your every decision be out of authenticity and enriching; not out of anything else – not out of fear or greed.

Stop your SeLf-fuLfiLLing negative prophecieS! When you start living in integrity, you will diagnose the self-fulfilling negative prophecies you constantly give to yourself. Each one of you is your own negative astrologer. First you give yourself the self-fulfilling negative prophecy - I am a failure. Then you train yourself for that! First you are an astrologer who predicts that you are a failure, then you are a trainer who trains you to be a failure. If it still does not happen, you behave like a judge and declare that you are a failure! When you are about to get into the car itself, you declare you will have an accident. Then when you drive, you will continuously sleep, and even after that when only a small accident happens, you just hit one corner of the road, nothing happens to you or the car, still you say ‘I told you that accident will happen! See what happened?’

DecLare your integrity, not your faiLure. The power of integrity will teach you to diagnose your self-fulfilling negative prophecies. Sometimes you take up failure as the self-sympathy creating mechanism to justify your failure. You think that for success you have to work, but failure happens naturally! How many of you think you have to work hard for success, but failure comes naturally? Bring integrity; you will

kriShna SayS very beautifuLLy - by their nature, our senses are tuned for the outer world – means, they are tuned to be active, alive and creating. Extrovert does not mean it is negative. Extrovert senses will always be alive, creative, active, contributing. All great creative persons took responsibility for their extrovert senses. Senses are extrovert, they flow naturally. By nature, they flow towards for achieving. You are programmed by nature to be successful! The natural programming of you is to be successful. But lack of integrity allows the poison of self-fulfilling negative prophecies to grow in your system. The first thing a human being needs to do is weed out all the self-fulfilling negative prophecies he carries in him.

ramakriShna giveS a very beautifuL exampLe: how much ever water you bring into your paddy field, if there are too many frog holes, rat holes, all the water will go and settle there. You will not have water for growing the paddy. The frog holes, rat

holes, snake holes are the negative self-fulfilling prophecies! All the energy you bring, all the Kundalini energy (latent yogic energy) I pour into you, just goes and settles there. Finally - no water. Neither paddy nor Ganga water can flow, because all 24 hours you are weighed, loaded with negative self-fulfilling prophecies. First thing a human being needs to know is how to weed out the negative self-fulfilling prophecies.

your integrity Can remove your negativity

SeLf-fuLfiLLing negative prophecieS are the chainS tieD to your LegS; they are the weight on your inner space. Integrity is the only way you can even find those negative self-fulfilling prophecies and weed them out. If you start looking, naturally you will not give your negative self-fulfilling prophecies any more life. Even for ten days, if you look at your negative self-fulfilling prophecies with awareness, they will die. Understand - even if you had negative self-fulfilling prophecies for 1000 years, if you do not encourage them for just ten days, they will die. Even if the tree has grown for 1000 years, it takes just a few minutes to die if you pour acid. Integrity is the acid that can destroy the weeds of negative self-fulfilling prophecies in you.

juSt thinking with integrity removeS the weeDS of negativity. You do not need courage to fight negativity, you just need the awareness to remove negativity. If you think you need courage, you are caught in the wrong fight! If you think you need to fight your negativity, it is like bringing an atom bomb to fight with your own shadow. If you put an atom bomb, who is going to die? You are also going to die. NO! You just need a torch to fight with your shadow! You just need the torch of integrity to remove the negativity.

ComPletion removes negativity

every time, the moment you have a Strong iDea or beLief that what you are doing is going to be a failure, just remember that your belief is a commitment and word that you are giving to you. When you give a commitment, knowingly or unknowingly you will fulfill it. So, if you give that word, naturally you have to fulfill it! Do you want to fulfill that word? No. Then tell yourself - ‘I am not going to fulfill it. I am going to have the cognition of fulfillment, not failure.’ Consciously disown and complete with it.

if it comeS back, Do that again. Complete with it again and again. How many times will it come back? Practice it. Even your belief is not required. Your cognizance is only what is required. Even if you have cognized this theoretically, it is enough. Now apply this mechanical process, then come back to me with the result. It is a homework for you. For 48 hours, practice this cognizance.

compLeting aLL the incompLetionS iS the baSic Step in Life. For whatever hurts you are carrying inside, reach out to the person involved and complete with him/her. If you are not able to reach out to that person, atleast sit in front of a mirror, invoke that person’s presence and complete. Unless poornatva (completion) happens, nothing can be done. Life does not start.

integrity removeS the SeLf fuLfiLLing negative prophecieS in your Life, in your cognizance, in your inner Space! When you start something, if you just decide to remove the negative cognizance, suddenly you will have the courage to grasp the whole scene of the action you are going to get into. Integrity will simply remove the negative cognizance from your inner space.

The fundamenTal way of enriching life with enlightenment is by being complete with all the patterns carried within. Any action that remains unfulfilled as per our fantasy, either due to hindrance from the outside world or from within can be termed as an incompletion. This can be either with ourselves or with another person. If we want a friend to live up to certain expectations that he or she can not honour, then it leads to incompletion. The first step to healing such an incompletion is to render the relationship complete. The only way to do this is by facing the other person and healing the hurt caused in the relationship. This can also be done by invoking their presence if they are no longer physically present. This process of completion and subsequent healing is absolutely necessary. Unless we are complete in all dimensions, life does not begin - living does not happen in us.

similarly, incompleTion also happens inTernally. Any unfulfilled desire or fantasy carried

by us, relating to ourselves, remains as an incompletion. The ideas which we have about us, we should either fulfill them or drop them. If we can not afford to fulfill them with our adopted lifestyle then dropping those will bring about completion with ourselves. For completion to happen, authentic listening needs to happen first. We need to authentically listen to the cries of our heart. This does not mean we will do everything that our heart wants. Just listening to our heart can give tremendous self satisfaction. Completion with ourselves involves giving ourselves the much needed self-attention. It even cures physical pain, as pain is a simple manifestation of being unable to sit comfortably with oneself.

when There is a disTurbance, the source is invariably from within us. Be it any kind of hindrance, this technique of completion within the self will be the path to enriching one’s life and cleansing the body of all negativity in its varied forms.

Poornatva Kriya - Be Complete!Taken from Nithyananda’s Daily Discourses on the subject of ‘Completion’ delivered in 2013 in Bidadi Ashram, Bangalore, India

Sva-poornatva kriya

a. idenTify your source inauThenTiciTy - What is it that has been a repetitive pattern or inauthenticity that you are carrying within you which makes you experience low energy again and again and keeps on repeating itself in your life? Also identify other additional inauthenticities that you are carrying within you which make you experience low energy in your life.

b. if you do not remember repetitive experiences in your life where the same inauthenticity has happened again and again, identify the experiences in your life where there are different kinds of inauthenticities you carry within, which make you experience low energy in your life.

make a conscious resoluTion with integrity, authenticity and responsibility and make this declaration – ‘Now, I am only being complete in life.’ Declare to yourself – ‘I am now in poornatva. I am committing to being complete and causing completion for myself and for life. I am enriching myself and life

with completion.’

Then go To a place where you have a mirror. Please understand that the person in the mirror is the incomplete half of you. Often that incomplete half of you is a small child – only a few days/months/years old. So when you complete with the “little you” in the mirror, you restore completion to the person in the mirror and inside you as well. This is what you should do:

• siT in a comforTable position facing the mirror• connecT wiTh The person in the mirror• look direcTly inTo The eyes of the person in the mirror• see The 1 year old or 2 year old or the 3 year old or the 4 year old or the 10 year old in the mirror which is the incomplete half of you • go back To earliesT memories of your life and contemplate on incidents/situations in your life where you have experienced low level energy emotions such as anger, guilt, frustration and agitation with yourself (incompletion in some form) from those incidents/situations

Page 32: Nithyananda Times - March, 2013

32

• now Take responsibiliTy for liberating yourself from this inauthenticity you are carrying within you and the incompletion that you have kept alive for yourself• re-live Those incidenTs/siTuaTions compleTely. Then, talk aloud with the person in the mirror till you experience completion happening both for you and for the person in the mirror.

noTe: repeaT re-living The incidents/situations and continue talking again and again till you experience being free of the low level emotions inside you

once you have experienced completion with incomplete part of u in the mirror -• you will feel lighT

• you will feel absence of something, being relieved of some big burden• unTil This happens, conTinue digging out.• keep finishing iT off. Getting it out of you, expose it totally.• once you feel ThaT there is an absence of heaviness, to a certain extent svapoornatva is done. Continue doing this till you experience completely being out of its grip, till you are completely out of pain or any other heaviness that exists within.

poornatva kriya

make a conscious resoluTion with integrity, authenticity and responsibility and make this declaration – ‘I am only being complete in life.’ Declare to yourself – ‘I am now in poornatva. I am committing to being complete and causing completion for myself and for life. I am enriching myself to completion.’

poornaTva kriya is resToring completion to the different incomplete parts of you which are sitting in others. While doing Poornatva Kriya with others there may be two possibilities –

you may have a very strong resistance to some person. The resistance or fear or hatred is so strong that

you cannot even think of facing that person and talking to him or her. If that is the case, first sit in front of the mirror and invoke that person’s presence in the mirror. See that person sitting in the mirror. Connect with that person making eye to eye contact with him/ her in the mirror. Re-live incidents that happened between you and that person and then talk to the person in the mirror till you experience completion.

you may be in talking terms with the person or you are comfortable with that person and have no major resistance in communicating with that person. If that is the case, talk to that person directly either in person or, if you do not have access to talking in person, talk over the phone. If there is no access to even a phone, then communicate through email. If there is no access to email also, then sit with the mirror and connect with that person in the mirror and do the completion process.

firsT do poornaTva kriya with your mother. Before you begin to talk to her, remind yourself – ‘With integrity, authenticity and responsibility, I am declaring that I am enriching myself and life with completion.’

Then you Talk To your mother, share the incidents where you experienced incompletion with her. Share with her the inauthenticity that was there inside you in each situation which left you incomplete with her. Take responsibility for that inauthenticity now and LISTEN and talk to your mother and restore completion. When you are complete, you will experience a shift in the way you now experience your mother - that is, you will see the heaviness reducing, you will feel free.

afTer you compleTe wiTh your mother, do this process with your father & all other relationships in your life such as - your brothers, sisters, spouse, children, friends, etc. Most important thing to note is – Do not entertain spontaneous lying. When you are talking to yourself and others during this kriya, be aware of not getting into spontaneous lying. Listen to others and take responsibility for their inauthenticities also. Also do completion with Swamiji by sitting face to face with his photograph.

Shiva is a universally worshiped Hindu God who is considered to be the primordial Guru on planet Earth. This poem is written in praise of Lord Shiva.

34science meets spirituality

from time immemoriaL, DeSpite the disbelief in the subject, astrology still holds its power and influence on human beings due to the amazing science behind it. A report says that in India, 93% of the people read or study their horoscopes regularly before taking any big decisions, including marital decisions. Usually, any concept which expands beyond a certain limit loses its originality and starts getting diluted. The science of astrology is not an exception. However, this does not imply that the science itself is a lie. There is one example, which when understood, will enable a person to connect with the science of astrology.

for one moment, when the shutter of the camera opens, the outside image gets imprinted on the film. Then the film can be developed to become a photograph. The same film cannot be used for the second time, since it will have the image captured at the first shot. In the same way, the moment a

person’s consciousness enters into their body, the energy level of the cosmos gets printed in that consciousness. One’s inner space gets the print of the cosmic energy level based on the time of the birth and the position of the nine major energy centers.

one more unDerStanDing that neeDS to be internalized is that the astronomical planets are not astrological planet energies. Although the number is the same, the astrological planets are energies. In a temple, nine astrological energies or grahas are worshiped as deities. For example, Shani graha (an astrological planet) is not exactly Saturn. A particular energy of pull and push always exists between the different grahas (astrological planets). Not all the energy that comes from Saturn will influence the planet Earth. Due to energy clash there will be an addition or deletion of energy. For example, if 100 units of push energy comes from Saturn and 20 units of pull energy comes from

The Science of AstrologyAdapted from Nithyananda’s Discourse on the Shiva Sutras on 3rd December, 2007 delivered in Mont Clair, California, USA

Buddha, it will be neutralized to become 80. If Shukra adds 30 units to the energy, it will become 110 units. By the time it reaches the planet Earth, it may get deviated and change its value to some extent. The net energy that finally reaches the planet Earth is called as Shani.

thiS iS a very SubtLe science. The same planet Saturn will not have same influence over planet Earth continuously. If Saturn moves, the total calculation of the pull or push will differ. If the astronomical planets and astrological planets were the same, the energy difference would not be there; but it is not the same. It is the totality of the energy that reaches the planet Earth that is called as “Shani”. The major influence in this energy will be Saturn, but it is not decided by the planetary position of Saturn alone and the value is continuously changing. Similarly, when we say Buddha energy, it is not only the planet Buddha that is radiating that energy. By the time the energy of the planet reaches the planet earth, it goes through almost five

alterations, many other energies get added or deleted.

the Different energy poSitionS cLearLy decide the cosmic energy level during the time of birth. Based on that, the course of one’s life can be predicted easily, although not the exact incidents. Incidents are too minute details and if minute happenings could also be predicted, one wouldn’t have any freedom. Having an idea about one’s horoscope gives the intelligence to take decisions in life, as well as the intelligence to have acceptance about inevitable situations.

in inDia, in the oLDen days, every family had a family astrologer who knew the family completely and could interpret the energy flow of the family members and guide them accordingly. It will be beneficial for a seeker to read books on horoscope and astrology, to have an opening and glimpse of this science. The astrological sutras encourage one’s visualization and the power to connect incidents, which really helps a person grow.

this MEditation tEchniquE, takEn froM the Shiva Sutras delivered by Mahadeva (Shiva) Himself to Devi, gives solution for all problems - all psychological problems being faced in relationships and otherwise. But the purpose of the technique is not only to solve the psychological problems. Meditation is not a mere replacement for medication or psychological solutions. It has got more sanctity associated with it. One small side effect of meditation is having physical and mental health. That is not the main or only effect of meditation, it is something much more than physical and mental solutions.

this MEditation can dirEctly dElivEr the enlightenment experience. Mahadeva takes us to a deeper level of our inner space. He explains how to

work on ourselves when a mood against someone or for someone arises within. He says, ’Let you be centered on you. Let you go to the source of the emotion from where it arose.’

whEthEr wE arE supprEssing or ExprEssing any emotion, for example anger, the other becomes important. Even when we suppress an emotion, in our inner space the other will be constantly remembered, and will be important. Here Shiva is not teaching us to show compassion or to suppress the emotion. No! He is simply teaching us to turn the whole direction and handle anger as an energy, without bothering about the reason or the person. He asks us to drop both and handle the anger as an energy, not as an emotion. When we look at anger as an emotion, we will try to

Page 39: Nithyananda Times - March, 2013

look for the reason and convert it into compassion. If we look at it from the angle of the other person, we will try to suppress it, to prevent pouring it on the other person. Shiva is asking us to drop both. He asks us to go to the source of the emotion within, making us centered on ourselves, without being moved by any emotion, thoughts and engraved memories.

instructions

stEp 1. closE your EyEs. Sit with any tension and irritation you already have. Remember your most intimate enemy, the person or people who create anger in you. Remember the people, the objects or situations that create deep anger in you. Allow yourself

to create the intense anger.

stEp 2. now, forgEt thE objEct. Forget the person and the situations that created the anger in you. Just go to the source of the energy, from where the emotion is arising. Go to the source of the heat and the irritation. Go to the source of the anger. Allow yourself to reach the deepest level of meditation.

stEp 3. rElax, opEn your EyEs.

This meditation technique needs to be practised when anger happens in real life situations. Only then the anger will be authentic and then the meditation will be a deep experience.

“he is my keshava,” I said to myself spontaneously after watching “Deeper Insights Into Mahabharata” on youtube - a discourse given by Swamiji. Somehow the name “Keshava” felt right, it was how Arjuna addressed Krishna and it was how I related with Swamiji. This was 2007 and I had just discovered Swamiji on youtube as I was desperately trying to find some meaning to my life. I had already graduated from my university with a Management and Finance degree and was supposed to head on

to a promising career in corporate management but somehow it did not feel right. I could not move to Washington DC and get a job like many of my friends did. I was looking for something but I did not know what that ‘something’ was! I was desperate. I began cursing myself, ‘What is wrong with me? Why can’t I get a job and be happy like my friends?’ I was depressed and I began drinking

heavily just so that I could numb myself so I do not feel anything. I felt a big void in my life and I began thinking how suicide can indeed seem like a solution. i somehow Turned around into looking for answers on the internet. I searched and searched and searched. I read through many things and then one day I found Life Bliss Foundation channel on youtube. The first discourse I watched was “The ultimate morality, Be What you are!” I felt a strange pull towards Swamiji and when I watched

“Deeper Insights Into Mahabharata” something inside told me that Swamiji is my Guru. I also began to see Swamiji in my dreams frequently.

The longing

Then began The journey of intense longing to see Swamiji, that would not happen for a few years. I literally felt like a gopika waiting to meet Krishna. I called Los Angeles (LA) temple thinking Swamiji lives in LA but someone on the phone told me that Swamiji is leaving the next day so hurry up and come see him. Alas! I was living in Virginia and could not make it. But then I decided I will move near the LA temple so that I can be around Swamiji when he comes and also be surrounded by Swamiji’s disciples. I packed my bags and drove across country to San Francisco area to spend a few weeks with my brother and then move down to LA. But I discovered that there is a temple in San Jose! i called The Temple to inquire when I can come and visit. The lady on the phone insisted that I should do LBP (Life Bliss Program - Level 1). I had no clue what LBP was or anything about it! The lady was Ma Snehamayi. I went to see the temple and pretty soon became a volunteer. I heard all different stories from everyone about spending time with Swamiji and I grew more and more restless. I was waiting and waiting. Then Swamiji’s tour was announced and Swamiji came to LA in April, 2009.

iT was april 1sT, 2009 that I would first see Swamiji. I was prepared! I had washed and ironed my white kurta, wrote a heartfelt letter to Swamiji to give during energy darshan, bought mala and bracelet to be energized (I would not wear mala or bracelet until Swamiji put it on me himself). Rishi Tejo, Ma Tejo and me were going to see Swamiji in LA! As I went to pick up Ma Tejo from her work, I locked myself out of my car with all my stuff in.

But I did not care, I was going to see Swamiji, so we flew to LA. iT was noT Time for the discourse yet so we were in the temple area just looking around and suddenly... suddenly Swamiji passed right by me! I can never forget that moment, I could feel the air as he passed by me. I saw Swamiji’s majestic walk for the first time and I stood frozen in my spot. I saw him as a lion and me as a scared little cub. I fell on my knees and called him ‘Keshava’.

laTer ThaT nighT, i timidly went up to the stage as my turn came for energy darshan. Swamiji looked at me for the first time, I went into a different state where nothing else mattered. I said, “I finally get to see you!” and I greedily hugged him. He was singing the Theppam song and it was perfect, it was one of my favorite songs! He put the mala and the bracelet on me and I touched his feet and then I hugged him again! It was a hug from the divine because it was so fulfilling. I came out all excited and almost dancing and Gynaneshwari Mayi was delighted to see me so happy as she knew I had been waiting for this moment for a long time. As I came out of the hall I noticed something on my hand! It was Swamiji’s hair! I had Swamiji’s hair on my hand! I was later asked by Ma Snehamayi to give it so that she could give it back to the ashram, which I did. The religious aTTack

The senior disciples whom I looked up to showed a complete different side and I got disillusioned at first and very hurt by how they behaved. But then it all became a blessing in disguise because no longer could I rely on anything or anyone outside of me. I had to mature my gurubhakti (devotion to the Guru) into atmabhakti (Devotion to the Self). I had to be the light unto myself. This started happening! I felt Swamiji

inside me more and more and I actually discovered

the sweetness of gurubhakti only after discovering

atmabhakti. It was truly a metamorphosis period

where I became confident on my own and became

determined to get enlightened.

now

as a volunTeer in San Jose temple, I have discovered and been discovering many joys of living under Swamiji. I do feel like I am moving towards becoming a leader in all areas of my life, being authentic in my relationships, and being of service to others so that they can discover their spiritual dimension as well. Although I long for attention from Swamiji, these words from him always ring in my head, “Do not chase me. If you do my work, I will chase you!” This gives me the courage and inspiration to work without expectations which has made me realize that the work

itself is a reward.

i recenTly saw a dream where Swamiji said, “I am Omkarapriyan.” Now I see Swamiji as myself and I am now realizing that after gurubhakti comes atmabhakti and after atmabhakti comes deeper levels of gurubhakti.

Akashic Records are the cosmic archives of everything happened, happening, will happen

And one more important sacred secret you need

to understand time is not three as you think, past

present, future. It is a small mind which cannot

see things as it is which needs to segregate,

segregate, segregate.

Past, Present & Future are One!

For

example, if you keep a fruit

basket on the table

ordinarily if you look

in one moment, and you

know it is a fruit basket with

five different fruits are there,

but for a child it cannot grasp the

the whole thing immediately. He will

say first, oh banana, then mango,

pineapple, apple. It can understand

one by one by one. Same past,

present, future, in Sanskrit we call it

Kaala. Only an ignorant mind grasp,

perceives as past, present, future,

but in truth it is not three different

things.

An enlightened being sees Kaala as one, one entity,

one experience, one reality.

Continuously

wise men all over

the world again

and again in all religion

repeats this one truth: History

repeats itself. Understand, the

patterns are same. So it is not

even repeating. It is re-beating.

The whole life is certain rhythm

with certain beats. That rhythm

is continuously moving. Even the

word repeating is not right word.

Re-beating is right word. History is

constantly re-beating itself because

past is not independent of future

and future is not independent from

the past. There are just single unit.

Your innermost consciousness

can experience all three at a time.

Simply it can experience. Past,

present, future, all these three are

the very integral part of your inner

space.

When enlightened masters say, ‘Future is predetermined’,

they are saying the truth. When

Taken from the Akashic Readings by Kaalabhairava through Nithyananda on 23rd November, 2012 on the subject “Key to Your Future”

Page 46: Nithyananda Times - March, 2013

46esoteric

enlightened masters say, ‘Future can be changed,

can be alerted’ they are saying the truth. Please

understand, when enlighten masters are saying

future cannot be altered it is predetermined, they

are saying the truth. When enlightened masters

say future can be altered , it is your freedom, they

are saying the truth. Both are true, both of them are

saying the truth. When Ramana Maharishi says,

“future is predetermined’, he is speaking the truth.

When Ramakrishna said, “future can be altered, it

is your freedom’ they are saying the truth. When

enlighten masters are saying “both are truth”, they

are saying the truth. When Ramana Maharishi is

says, “future is predetermined” he is saying the truth.

When Ramakrishna says, “the future can be altered”

he is saying the truth. When Nithyananda says,

“Both are truth” He is saying the truth. Just expand

the scope of your understanding, you will see the

truth in all three statements.

Your future has two layers. One, the

possibility of distortions and second is possibility of

falling back into the restful awareness. Possibility

of falling back into the restful awareness is

predetermined. That cannot be changed. The

possibility of getting diluted is changeable. You have

a freedom over it. That is why I tell you, celebrate

this message. The revelation happening to all of you

right now is a gift from Kaalabhairava, Maha Kaala,

which I received just today morning. Because such

a great truth, I cannot be keeping it, hiding inside of

my heart. I am not that violent person. The moment

that it is gifted to me, I open it and share it with

you all. I only received only just today’s morning.

Understand, celebrate! This is the greatest message

to the humanity. The possibility of realization is

predetermined. The possibility of beautiful moments

in your life getting clarity, restful awareness falling

back receiving the inspiration is predetermined

in your life. That cannot be changed. Only the

possibility of delusion is your freedom. Again,

celebrate because it is your freedom you can always

stop the delusion.

What a beautiful existence. Just make this

into your reality. Make this into reality. Future has

two possibility. The possibility of falling back into

the wisdom, enlightenment, restful awareness, that

is predetermined. That is extension of the past. That

is programmed. Only the possibility of delusion is

your freedom. I think Kaalabhairava has solved all

problems related to past, present and future and the

questions possible about past, present, future.

47 Q&A

Q & AQuestion: You have said in some discourses that one can learn to function on two to three hours of sleep a day. I need that in order to be

closer to you.

Master: Two to three hours of sleep happens as a by product of our psychological revolution. When the intensity happens in us, so much love for

doing something or to enjoy something happens

inside that suddenly sleep reduces. That’s all. If we

have something which is more interesting than

sleep, then naturally sleep will reduce. In most of our

lives, there is nothing more interesting than sleep. So

we decide to just lie down.

Question: Since our society is at least partly controlled by politicians, how do we, as spiritual beings, exist as part of our society? Can we be both political and spiritual beings?

Master: Yes! Understand that politicians may

not be spiritual beings but spiritual beings can

become, tolerate and engage in politics. That won’t

be a problem. Spirituality gives us such an open

understanding and vast inner space; we will be able

to accommodate even those things. That’s not a

problem. But this is an age old problem. All fighting

on this planet is between politicians and religious

people. That’s all.

If you are truly spiritual, even if you are a politician you won’t fight. In ancient times there

were a few spiritual kings. There were a few peaceful

kings who never fought, for example Akbar.

On the other hand, there were some people who were supposed to become politicians, but for one reason or another they became religious people. Still, because of their mindset

they always created conflict and war. This shows us

that if the spiritual essence is not imbibed whether

you are a religious leader or a politician, you will

create conflicts; however, if you imbibe the spiritual

essence, even if you are a politician you won’t

promote wars.

The first chief adviser of Akbar was named Maheshwara. In the course of time people started

Page 48: Nithyananda Times - March, 2013

48Q&A

calling him Birbal. He was actually a

Brahmin from a nearby village, and his

name was Maheshwara. Even if you

see Akbar’s court records, his name

was mentioned as Maheshwara. He

received salary every month in that

name, and the court documents said

his name was Maheshwara. If you

read his stories you would understand

that he was a very intelligent and wise

adviser, although he was depicted as

a joker. If you read his history, it said

he was from a Brahmin family and his

name was Maheshwara. And such a

wise man was adviser to this peaceful

king.

Maybe because Akbar had such

intelligent advisers, he neither

converted nor killed people. His

period was a golden period. Both

Ashoka and Akbar created golden

periods. During Ashoka’s reign there

was a golden period because of the

Buddhist enlightenment, Buddhist

knowledge. I don’t know if Ashoka

himself was enlightened but he had

Buddhist masters guiding him. In the

same way with Akbar a golden period

passed because he had a Brahmin, a

very intelligent Brahmin, as his guide.

Question: Dear Swamiji please can

you explain about bio-memory.

What exactly is it?

Master: Please understand bio-

memory means the part of your

experience which becomes a

solid part of your muscles. Please

understand when you eat food, a part

of the food becomes blood, some of it

becomes bones, a certain part becomes

the bone marrow, and a certain part

becomes your thoughts.

In the same way, when you think

or experience something, certain

part of that experience becomes part of

your blood, certain part becomes your

bone marrow, certain part becomes

your bone, certain part becomes a

solid physical particle of your body.

The memory or the experience which

happens in you very strongly becomes

part of your very biology is bio memory.

Memory which becomes part of your

biology is bio memory. Sometimes you

can see when the depression or the

fear becomes too much you will see

the whole upper body what you think

as you becomes heavy and immobile,

uncomfortable; don’t know what to do.

Especially when you are getting into

some criminal activity or illegal activity,

you will see the whole body resist. If

you are getting into some activity which

should not be done, you will see that

fear. Bio memory means memory which

became part of the biology.
