Holy Week & Triduum Liturgies

Our parish has a tradition of praying the Liturgy of the Hours during the Triduum. This year, to help you keep Holy Week “Holy” from Palm Sunday to Holy Thursday, we are offering additional times for communal prayer. If your days are busy, that’s an even better reason to come recenter through prayer!

Holy Week Monday of Holy Week Midday Prayer – 12:15pm (short service, convenient for people on their lunch hour) Mass – 6:00pm

Tuesday of Holy Week Chrism Mass (Cathedral of St. Peter) – 11:30am Midday Prayer – 12:15pm (short service, convenient for people on their lunch hour) Evening Prayer – 6:00pm

Wednesday of Holy Week Midday Prayer – 12:15pm (short service, convenient for people on their lunch hour) Evening Prayer – 6:00pm

The Triduum - “Three Holy Day” - is the most solemn and holy time of the liturgical year. Many parishioners give of their time and talent to create beautiful liturgies that celebrate the source of our salvation. Plan now to join your parish fami-ly as we honor the passion, death and resurrection of Christ! The Sacred Paschal Triduum

Hosanna! We welcome our Saviour King. As we approach the Triduum, let us “walk” with Jesus through His Passion and Death. It is He who wants us to join Him in bringing more souls into His kingdom. The living out our vocation is our response. Are we following our true call to be with Him? Are you called to a Religious vocation?

HOPE FOR THE JOURNEY

Check out these Two Inpirational New Books on our Kiosk!

Dr. Peter Kreeft uses Scripture to provide God’s profound answers to the most common and important questions young people ask about the deeper meaning of life, their own identities, overcoming failure and temptation, the mystery of Gods love and much more. But these are questions asked not just by the young—they are the same questions adults often ask, and God’s answers, as found in the Bible, will respond to the deepest needs of people of all ages.

Modern technology has brought powerful challenges to our interior peace and well-being. We’re experiencing a world wide crisis of attention in which information overwhelms us, corrodes true communion with others and leaves us anxious, unsettled, bored, isolated and lonely. This book offers a calm, measured and effective approach to regaining interior peace, without having to retreat from the world’s communication chaos. The wisdom of the world’s greatest thinkers, including Plato, Aristotle, St. Augus-tine and St. Thomas Aquinas show us how to cultivate the qualities of character we need to survive in our media-saturated environment. More information and other CD and Book titles can be found on our parish website link at www.stclarechurch.org under the Lighthouse logo. Mp3 formats can be purchased through this link!

Tradition of Veiling the Cross and Statues… The custom of veiling the Cross and statues is meant to simplify the worship space to concentrate (internally) on the great essentials of Christ’s work of Redemption. The intent of this tradition is to create a spiritual hunger to see the face of our Savior, Jesus Christ, once again at Easter. The covering of the cross and other spiritual images makes the celebration of Easter much more sig-nificant.

The Chrism Mass is one of the principal expressions of the life of our Local Church. On this day, the Priests and the Christian Faithful of the diocese gather as the Bishop consecrates the Sacred Chrism and blesses the Oil of the Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick. All are welcome! ARE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC? Following each Mass on the weekend of April 21-22, we will have a short presentation on what is involved in the pro-cess of becoming Catholic. Bring an interested friend or family member, come for yourself or come on hyour own to learn so that you can share with others.

St. Clare Catholic Men for Christ March Monthly Meeting

Our March meeting will be a CMFC-sponsored movie night to be held on Friday night, March 23rd. To keep us with a Lenten focus, we will be showing the movie, “The Miracle Maker”. “The Miracle Maker” is a singular achievement: a Jesus movie that is simple enough for children, sophisticated enough for scripture scholars and theologians, and artful enough for discerning cinephiles.”

The movie night will be held in the Fellowship Hall, following the Friday Stations of the Cross. Cheese Pizza and Popcorn will be provided. Bring a snack or drink to share. SECOND SATURDAY MEN’S GROUP MOVIE NIGHT! Come watch “Risen” to cele-brate the Resurrection. Join us for the 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, April 14 and stay for a guys night.
