from another parish, it is forwarded to the that par-ish. If you attend Mass at a church other than your home parish, please feel free to drop your Offertory envelope in their basket. It will be returned to your home parish. Please make your check out to the Par-ish to which you are registered.

St. Mary Nursery Service The St. Mary Nursery will be closed starting today, July 7, through August 11, 2019. We are inviting the young families who use the nursey to be sure to share in all the activities that are offered here at St. Mary’s during the summer! St. Ursula Nursery in the Killmeyer Room, in the Social Hall, is open and available during the 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. masses on Sunday at St. Ursula. We hope to see you during the summer months!

Theology on Tap Join us on Monday, July 8 at 7:00 pm at McFadden's (North Shore by PNC Park) as we welcome Fr. Adam Verona and Steel City Catholic for a LIVE Theology on Tap podcast. Come meet other young adults from around the city and enjoy appetizers and drinks. Podcast recording will begin at 7:30 pm.

Martyrs of Hope The Sisters of St. Joseph will present a discussion on Martyrs of Hope: U.S. Missionary Martyrs in Central America, Models of Spiritual Transformation on Sunday, August 25, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse in Baden. The presentation will spotlight the lives of seven U.S. martyrs and how they serve as models for the church today. Speakers are Edward T. Brett, Ph.D., profes-sor emeritus of history at La Roche University, and Donna W. Brett, M.A, who served as an academic advisor at the University of Pittsburgh. The program will include time for reflecting or walking on the grounds. Light refreshments will be served. It is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Diocesan Youth Council High School sophomores and juniors, sponsored by either their parish grouping or Catholic high school, are invited to apply for the 2019-2020 Diocesan Youth Council. The mission and purpose of the DYC is to gather high school youth from throughout the Diocese of Pittsburgh for formation in discipleship, preparation for the apostolate, and growth as virtuous, servant leaders culminating with an informed discussion and consultation with the Diocesan bishop and his pastoral staff. Applications are available at www.diopitt.org/dyc and will be accepted as space permits. Please prayerfully consider recommending a youth to apply. The mandatory DYC Retreat will be held on July 14-16, 2019 at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center.

30 Days to Morning Glory, an At-Home Retreat, to begin the

week of July 7 includes an instruction about our Blessed Mother, Mary on DVD by Father Michael Gately, OMI, time for prayer and discussion of the love for Mary by Saints Louis de Montfort, Maximillian Kolbe, John Paul II, and Mother Teresa, and some at-home Retreat time to read. Wagon of Cheer Raffle

We will be raffling off a Wagon of Cheer at the Parish Festival. The proceeds will benefit the boiler fund. St. Mary’s is supplying the wagon. If you are willing and able, please consider donating some of the cheer! We have the wagon on display in the Rectory Office and already we have a few donations! Please drop off donations at the rectory. Thank you!

St. Mary Bakers Bake goods are needed for each dinner and the bake sale which will be held each night of the festival in Marian Hall. Rodef Shalom Biblical Garden There is a food and cooking replica of an ancient Israel exhibit at the Rodef Shalom Biblical Garden, 4905 Fifth Avenue in Oakland. Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. till dusk; Saturdays, noon till 1:00 p.m. Admission is free. Exhibit will be open though September 15, 2019.

Boys Basketball Camps Dave DeGregorio, Boys Head Varsity Basketball Coach at North Catholic High School, and his staff will host the 2019 Dave DeGregorio’s Boys Basketball Camps at North Catholic High School. The camps stress “FUN” and “FUNdamentals” for all participants and are open to grades 3 through 8. Each session costs $100 and a 20% discount is available if more than one family member attends. Session 1 takes place July 8-11 and Session 2 takes place August 6-9. Grades 3 through 5 meet from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and Grades 6 through 8 meet from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. St. Mary Faith Formation Faith Sharing for 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jesus gave specific instruction to the disciples that he sent out as recorded in this week’s gospel. The same advice is applicable to us contemporary disciples. “…say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’ ”

July 13 – Saint Henry lived in the fir st years of the second century and is remembered for His profound respect for every person and as a just emperor in Germany. July 14 – Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, a native Amer ican woman who endured bullying by her relatives but turned to Jesus, and persons in need, to serve them with love and joy.

Summer Bible Week ROAR Our Summer Bible Week ROAR is scheduled for July 29, 30, 31 and August 1 & 2. Adult and youth leaders of Grades 7 and older are welcome to join the “safari” as we experience that Life is wild ~ God is good! Blessed Trinity Academy is selling raffle tickets coinciding with the 2019 NFL season. Every week there are 4 chances to win based on teams' weekly scores, with large cash prizes at the end of the season. Overall prizes equal $21,800! Tickets can be purchased for $20 each. Tickets will be sold after masses at the scrip tables, at the BTA scrip office on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30-11:00, and at the St. Bonaventure scrip office on Fridays from 8:30-10:00. It’s Flea Market Time! Get ready to find some incredible bargains at the

2019 St. Mary of the Assumption Flea Market on July 19, 20 & 21. It’s also a great opportunity to clean out your attic or garage and donate CLEAN, USABLE items. Merchandise drop-off dates are

July 8 – 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, July 13, between 9:30 a.m. and noon.

Please take donations to Marian Hall, rear entrance, during drop-off times only. Do not leave items outside or unattended. No donations can be accepted after these dates.

We are unable to accept TV’s, computers, exercise equipment, textbooks, encyclopedias, com-puter manuals, magazines, VHS & cassettes, clothing & shoes. We can only take items that are in good condition. If you won’t buy it - no one else will.

Volunteers are always needed. We especially need Table Coordinators for: Purses, Linens, Dishes and Large Furniture. If you like meeting new people, having fun and making a difference, come join the team by calling Theresa Benedek at 412-486-4787 or e-mail your name to [email protected]. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed! If you are unable to volunteer, you can still contribute by donating baked items for our bake sale and snack shop.
