Are you hoping to cuddle with a kitten while reading the latest best-seller? Well, please begin

your adoption search with us! I’m the

mostly grey kitten standing on the far left and my name is

Dorothy, just like the girl in The Wizard of Oz (another great

book!) I’m 12-weeks-old and I love to chase string, jump for feathers, eat treats, and be held by humans. Nellie Bly is the Tabby kitten laying under the book. She is named after the famous investigative reporter and trail blazer, and is also 12-weeks-old. She loves to sit in people’s laps while they read her stories. We both play with dogs as well as with other cats and we cuddle and sleep together. We are healthy and up to date on all our kitten shots. Our foster mom

takes great care of us and we want families who will love us forever. Nellie and I are good friends, but we can be adopted together or

separately. If you’d like to meet us and hold us in your arms, please call Adopt-An-ANGEL

at 910-392-0557. We’d also like to thank photographer Dick Parrott for taking our lovely

portrait. Books and cats just seem to go together, don’t they? After all, reading is

fundamental, and so is ADOPTION!

Yep, you might think I’m just a regular, ol’ black kitty but you couldn’t be

further from the truth. My name is Déjà and I have the brightest gold eyes

imaginable. They almost look like they’re made of

gold leaf. And my tail, it’s about half as long as the average cat’s tail. I was

found as a stray and dropped off at Animal

Services. I was unsuccessful finding a

home so I came to Adopt-An-ANGEL to expand my

search for love. I’ve already been spayed and

I’m current on vaccinations. I enjoy playing with cat toys and feeling safe. This heart of mine is ready to love you

unconditionally! If you would like to know more about me, please call Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-392-0557. You may

also visit www.adoptanangel.net for more details.

I am sponsored in honor of all the wonderful foster mommies and daddies who care for

homeless animals.

Hi, my name is Mocha and I am looking for love. I am approximately 3-years-old, I’m current on all my

vaccinations and I’m already spayed, too.

I do great with all other dogs (big or

small), I love kids and I like to play ball. I

know my basic com-mands including sit and down. I love

learning new tricks, too. I like going on walks and getting to

hang out with people. That's why I would

love to find a family to love me and for me to

love back. If you would like to meet me or if you might even like to foster me, call 910-792-1311 or email [email protected].

I am sponsored by Aunt Kerry’s Pet Stop because they

believe that Pitbulls are wonderful family dogs.

My name is Bobby and I

have the most striking good looks. I have

bleached white fur with deep black

splashes that create this

unique con-trast. How

cool is that? If you were an artist, you couldn't create an image as

beautiful. I have a notched ear because I was born on the streets and went through a feral cat program. My

rescuer thought I had a chance at becoming someone's pampered pet so she opened her home to me and taught

me how to love people. I am shy and quiet and would benefit from a quiet home. I am at Petco watching the people go by my cage. I think you humans are a busy

species who miss a lot with all of the things you find im-portant and try to get done. I think you need me to teach you to slow down and to just sit and pet me. I can teach you what is important and what is not, how to become patient and less impulsive and how to work towards a

goal and watch it blossom with time. For now, I am just resting my head on this pillow, watching and waiting for you. If you would like to know more about me or to in-

quire about the adoption process, give Adopt-An-ANGEL a call at 910-392-0557. You may also visit us online at

www.adoptanangel.net for more details.

I am sponsored by Perry Davis. Thank you!

URGENT, URGENT! I’m Running Out

of Time! I’m a puppy boy named Albert (A013578) ) and

I’ve been ready for a fam-ily since the day I arrived, but so far I’ve been over-looked! How can that be when you’re as adorable as me? I’m a 6-month-old Black Labrador Re-

triever who was found as a stray. I was covered in fleas when I came to the shelter but now I’m flea-free and feeling great! I

love to play and would be a great companion for an

active person or family who enjoys dog parks, walks in the neighborhood or strolls on the beach. I have a very friendly personality and I never know a stranger. So please hurry!

There are just too many dogs arriving at the shelter and not enough room for us all. My adoption fee includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, de-worming, 30 day flea/tick treatment and my neuter surgery. The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in

case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Sat-urdays from Noon to 4pm. For more information, please call

Pender County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484 or email [email protected]. We’ll be so happy together!

I am sponsored by Happy At Home Pet Sitting

in memory of KARMA.

Page 6: PawPrints Magazine September 2014

URGENT, URGENT! My Time Is Running Out! I’m one of those sweet, quiet dogs who tend to get overlooked when

folks come to the shelter. Other dogs are barking at the front of their kennels, getting all the attention, while I sit quietly, hoping someone will see what a jewel I am and take me

home. My name is Kaitlyn (A011345) and I’m a 3-year-old female Terrier who has been at the shelter since January 31st. When I came here I weighed only 35 pounds,

but I now weigh in at a healthy 50 pounds. I pray you’ll come visit, open my kennel door and take me out so that you can experience the loving nature of my personality. As you can see from my photo, I only wish to be held and cuddled and am just looking for a kind person that I can call my own. I’ll give you so much love and so much gratitude in return! My adoption fee in-

cludes vaccinations, deworming, 30 day flea/tick treatment and my spay! The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For more info,

call Pender County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484 or email [email protected]. Hurry over today!

I am sponsored in honor of Kathleen M. Langone.

COLUMBUS HUMANE SOCIETY

My name is Macy and I am a 1 to 2-year-old

Husky and Shepherd mix with beautiful blue eyes. At 37 pounds, I will not

get any larger. My foster parents say I am perfect in every way. I am sweet

and affectionate and I sometimes even express

my pleasure verbally like this mmmrrrrwwwoooww. What? You don’t speak dog? Translation: That is my happy sound. I also have a happy, prancy-dancy thing I do.

Very expressive - that’s me! I have excellent manners and I love toys, rawhide chews and a good snuggle. To adopt

me, call 910-619-3015 or email [email protected].

ONSLOW COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES

My name is Matilda (A077813) and I need your help. I ended up

at Animal Services due to no fault of my own. I’d truly love to have a family of my own again. I’m a terrific 5-year-old, spayed Labrador Retriever and I have

lots of special qualities. I’m house-trained, vaccinated, lov-ing, gentle, good with kids and

other animals and I’m the great-est companion ever. I just want

the chance to make a family happy with my presence. Drop

by the shelter and ask for me by name and ID#. They’ll gladly bring me out to spend some time with you and you’ll know instantly that you can’t possibly leave here without me. The shelter is located at 244 Georgetown Road in

Jacksonville. To adopt me, call 910-455-0182.

4 PAW LIFESAVER RESCUE

My name is Kingston and I’m a 2-year-old boy who weighs

60 pounds. I LOVE other dogs a lot and I’m even good

with cats and kids. A long time ago some people took me and

my siblings away from my mom and left us in a field. It was really scary. My siblings were all adopted except me

and while I love living with my foster fur-siblings and my foster mom, all I really want is my

own home and family. I really am a wonderful dog! I am house-trained, crate-trained, good on leash, know basic commands, and I’m good in the car. I am fully vetted, microchipped, and heartworm negative. To adopt me,

email [email protected] or call 252-531-0744.

OPERATION TOPCAT

I’m Asia, a Siamese girl who is 5-years-

old. I’m spayed, vac-cinated, and tested

negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. At some point in my life, my hind leg was in-

jured so I walk with a permanent limp. I get around fine and can even jump up to sit next to you to be petted. I must be an indoor cat and probably shouldn’t be around dogs or aggressive cats due to my disability. Little children would also need to be gentle with me. I love close personal attention and will sleep and snuggle with you. To adopt me, email [email protected] or call 910-200-0612.

PENDER ENDANGERED ANIMAL RESCUE

Hello, my name is Sophie! I’m a female Boxer mix

who needs a forever fam-ily. I’ve been waiting at

the rescue for too long! I am healthy and full of fun and energy. I love to run and get lots of attention. I am spayed and up to date on all my shots. I tend to pick and choose my play-mates (dogs), but if han-dled correctly all will be

fine. If you’re interested in a meeting, contact Pender

Endangered Animal Rescue at [email protected] or call 910-675-0867.

ONSLOW PARTNERS FOR ANIMAL WELFARE

My name is Cash and I am

a gorgeous, sweet boy at 10-months of age and 57 pounds. My owner relo-cated out of state so my

foster mom is helping me to

find a new home. I am

neutered, up to date on vaccinations, on all preventatives, heartworm negative and I’m a very quick learner who

knows basic commands. I am good with other dogs and children and I’m laid back and gentle. Call 484-883-3552 or visit www.oc-paw.com to fill out an adoption application.

A SHELTER FRIEND

I am a uniquely marked Cata-houla mix. In fact my name, Peace, came about because of a perfect peace sign mark-ing on my back. I’m an ex-tremely sweet girl and I am

said to be a bit of an attention hog, but in a likeable way! I love kids and get along with

other dogs, once we are properly introduced. I’m an

adult of the perfect size at 35 pounds and I’m spayed, vac-cinated, heartworm negative

and on preventative. Call 910-876-0539 to learn more about me and how we can meet. Visit my rescue group

online at www.AShelterFriend.org or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ashelterfriend. Peace & love, friends!

CAROLINA ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY

My name is Gabriella and I’m a beautiful Lilac Point Siamese mix. My

family moved and left me behind to survive on my own. I am so grateful to be back inside with lots of food, water and secu-

rity! Unfortunately, I tested positive for FIV so I need to be an only cat or with other cats who

are FIV positive. I enjoy cuddling and want a loving forever home of my own. If you would like to adopt me or if you

have questions about FIV cats, visit capsrescue.com, call 910-330-1376 or email [email protected].

I am very healthy and adoptable, please give me a chance.

CAPE FEAR RESCUE LEAGUE

My name is Juno and I'm a 14-month-old Siberian Husky and Shepherd mix who weighs 55

to 60 pounds. I love to run and play with children and other

doggies. I would like to have a fenced yard to go out and play in and also another dog would be great, but not required. I'm vaccinated, spayed, heartworm free and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. I’m also

house-trained and crate-trained. Please call Pat today at 910-207-2071 if you would

like to meet me. It will be the greatest day of your life and I know that you will fall in love with me.

PAWSITIVE PARTNERS PRISON PROGRAM

Flo-Jo is my name and, like my Olympics award-winning name-

sake, I run like a champ! After all, I am a Greyhound mix. However,

my racing days are in the past, ‘cause now I just want to chill with

a loving owner and I am being trained in Monty's Home's Pawsi-tive Partners Prison Program to run only when you want me to

(that's how well they train me!) I also stay, sit, walk nicely on a

leash, and lots more. I am getting a diploma to prove it. I am a very

pretty girl, and I feel I am quite the star because everyone notices how pretty I am. Visit our website at

www.montyshome.org. Email [email protected] for more details, or call us at 910-297-1338. Please like

us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/montyshome!

ALL 4 CATS

My name is Lola and I’m 1-year-old, micro-chipped, spayed and ready to be your new best friend. I’ve been busy with my kids but

now I am ready to take my proper place -

comfortably sitting with my people, in a window sill or curled up on the bed. That all sounds great to me! My tail is very expres-sive - acting like a scorpion and moving up to hit myself in

the back when I am curious. For more information, call 919-710-3872 or visit www.facebook.com/all4catsrescue

for events where you and I can meet.

COASTAL ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORT (C.A.R.E.)

I’m Captain Jack Sparrow and I was surrendered to C.A.R.E. after being stuck under a vehi-cle. I had multiple injuries and wounds, but the volunteers at C.A.R.E. are giving me lots of TLC and medical treatment. I have made a best friend while at C.A.R.E. Her name is Sister Mary Clarence (see page 16). We love to play all day! If you

would like to donate to C.A.R.E., please go to

www.carewilmington.org and click the donate button. For updates on me and my friends, like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/carewilmington. You can also call 910-256-2624.

Just look at me! I’m ab-solutely gor-geous and

intelligent to boot! You just can’t beat that

combination. My name is Pumpkin (A077097) and I’m a

3-year-old, spayed, Tortie girl with long-hair and great feline etiquette.

I’m litter-box trained so you have no worries about accidents around the house. Also, I’m comfortable around other cats and even those crazy dogs that people seem so attached to

- go figure! We all know that “cat’s rule!” However, I’ve been here at the Animal Shelter way too long. You need to come and adopt me so I can get on up out of this place. I will be eternally grateful and I’ll keep you company for the rest of my days, sitting on your lap, giving you sandpaper

licks and lots of contented purrs. I’m the “purrfect” cat! Come on by Onslow County Animal Shelter to meet me, as

I’m certain you’ll want to adopt me on the spot! We’re located at 244 Georgetown Road in Jacksonville. For

more information, please call 910-455-0182.

I am sponsored by Dan and Sue Tuman in honor of all the cats who are waiting for homes at the shelter.

URGENT, URGENT! My Time Is

Running Out! My name is Siren (A013445) and I’m sad right now be-cause my owners moved away and

were unable to take me. They told the

shelter workers that I am a “phenomenal” dog and they were very sorry to leave

me behind. I’m a 1½-year-old Terrier girl

who is hoping that my luck will soon change. It’s just not fair that a friendly, obedient and

loving girl like me should be all alone in the world. Especially since I am made for family life! I pray you will be coming to

meet me soon as there are just too many dogs arriving at the shelter and not enough kennels to hold us all. My adoption fee includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vac-

cine, Rabies Vaccine, deworming, 30 day flea/tick treatment and my spay surgery. The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For more information, please call Pender County Animal Shelter at

910-259-1484 or email [email protected]. I hope to see you soon!

I am sponsored in appreciation of everyone who has

rescued a homeless animal.

Adopt-An-ANGEL

◄My name is Kirby and I am a little

shy. I would benefit from

being adopted into a home with another well-

balanced dog. I am

young enough that I

will over-come this if

you’ll be patient and give me TLC and socialization. I am just 7-months old and will probably grow to be only 50

pounds at most. I also need a quiet home without small kids (who can be noisy at times). I am absolutely beautiful

with my pretty golden fur.

◄My name is Bo, and if I do say so myself, I am drop dead gorgeous!! I have deep choco-late fur that is al-

most black. I am a dream on a leash,

have excellent manners and am super easy. I do well with other dogs and I am

house-trained. I weigh about 55 pounds so I am a mid-sized family dog who

is already fixed and vaccinated.

►My name is Rio and I dance across the sand.

Just like that river twisting through a dusty land.

And when I shine I really show you all I can. Oh

Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande. That's what they sing when they come

to see me. My name is Rio and I am a wonderful yellow Lab mix. I came

from Pender County Ani-mal Shelter a few weeks back because they had run out of space and I’d run out of time. They are so full of animals so please go adopt from any of the county shelters or just adopt me. I am eager to please and gentle. I seem to do well with other animals and I am already neutered, vacci-nated, and heartworm negative, too. And if you choose

me, you can sing “Rio” to me and I will just love you.

►My name is Misty and I am a really loveable girl. I

do well with most other dogs and I’m looking for a

home full of love. I am pretty playful and full of

beans. I am a smaller girl who weighs approximately

30 pounds. I am already spayed, I have all my vac-

cinations and I have un-dergone a heartworm

treatment. So, you won't have to pay for anything

extra when you get me. I am ready to GO!

◄My name is June and I'm a 2-year-old spayed Lab mix girl. I'm what you'd call an all-star dog: I'm friendly, obedient, easy-going, cheerful, and always at the ready to be a listening ear! I'm all set to make some lucky family a truly amazing lifelong companion so come on out and fall in love with me! You’ll find that it’s one of the best decisions you ever made.

►My name is Balto and I have a great disposition. I am mid-sized around 40 pounds and I

have the most ador-able blue eye, as

you can see. I am pretty calm and seem to do well

with other dogs. I am well-mannered, have moderate en-ergy and I’m house-

trained. I may sound cocky but, oh

well, I am drop dead gorgeous, too. I have already been to the vet where I

was fixed and I’m current on all my vaccinations.

Save lives…please spay or neuter your pets!

Do you have an empty lap? Well, my name is Marcel and I’m looking

for a permanent lap situation. If your lap is available for a sweet,

loving kitten, you will be rewarded with an abun-

dance of purrs and snug-gles. I’m just 12-weeks-old, so we have a lifetime of cuddles ahead of us! I just love to be petted by loving hands and I also get along well with other

kitties. I got a great check-up at the vet’s

office and am neutered, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. I would love to be part of a family where I can grow from an

adorable kitten into an even more handsome boy! For adoption information, please call Cat Adoption Team at 910-792-9014 or visit us at Petsmart in Wilmington. We’re there

7 days a week! You can also visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CatAdoptionTeamNC.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Annie Lake, cherished family member to Doug and Lisa from

Hi! I am Momma June. I

just showed up on some-one's

doorstep. It was

thought that I had been hit by a car since I

was only using

three of my legs. I also had ticks, fleas, grain mites, intes-tinal parasites, and heartworms!!! I am currently undergo-

Hello there! I’m a Bulldog/Boxer mix girl and my name is Millie. I’ve been a little sad lately –

my best friend was

adopted and I miss him. I’m a young girl at only 2-

years-old. I have lots of

energy and it would be so great to be

adopted by a family that has a playmate for me. We could meet first at Paw’s Place to make sure that we get

along. Oh, did I mention that I love people, too! I am ready and waiting for my family to come and get me.

Please call Paw’s Place at 910-845-7297 and tell them you’re on your way. We’re open every day from 9am-Noon

so pick your day and come on over!

I am sponsored in loving memory of Grace Harrington.

Hi! My name is Sister Mary

Clarence! And I am one sister who has her

"act" together. I am a young kit-ten and FULL of

energy. I find hands very inter-esting, especially

to play with. I love to seek out new adventures

everyday. I spend most of my time at the Operator station here at Atlantic Animal Hospital, roaming the desk. I have even pounced on the phones and accidentally hung up on clients - OOPS! My new best friend is Captain Jack Spar-row (see page 9). I am searching for my forever home and I hope it’s with you. Cat Tails

◄There’s always one black cat with a name that has to do with nighttime or witch-craft. Well, I am the night-time one, Moonlight. As usual I am one of the nicest cats in the building but be-cause I’m black - I get over looked all the time. I am a 7-month-old, very friendly, easy-going gal. I run and play with the best of them. There will never be a dull moment with me in your house. Please see me for the awesome kitty I am!

◄I’m named after the Oscar winner of 2014, Lupita,

and you know how beautiful she is. Does that give you a hint how

gorgeous I must be? I am just 4-months-old, and

have very unusual colored long-hair

and wonderful tufted ears. If I were a guy, this much ear hair

would be gross, but I’m a cat so it’s cute. I love to play and want attention on my terms. If you want a cat who should be

on People’s most beautiful list, for sure I am that cat.

▲Two are more fun. We are Malcolm and Maximilian. We are 5-month-old brothers and as you can see, we look a lot alike. We are both white and the only difference is Mal-colm has blue eyes and I have green. We are into serious snuggling - like if you sit down, we are in your lap. Our fos-

ter mom used to work out every morning and we helped. Yes, she used us like weights. It was so much fun. Come

try us and see. ◄SIAMESE MIX!

Now that I have your attention, take a look. My name is Jasper and I am a 5-month-old Siamese mix. I’m already fixed and I’m current on vaccina-

tions. I am very sweet but somewhat aloof, much as a Siamese

should be. I get along with all the other cats in the building but I

should be treated like the royal I am. So if

you want the snooty Siamese I am perfect for you.

◄▲There’s always one in the crowd, this month there are 2.

What is it you ask, well, it is front declawed. Both of us, DeeDee and Bess, are declawed. We are both very

sweet and a little sad. You see, our owner got sick and can no longer keep us - which is why we are back at Cat Tails. We are 8-year-old sisters, one Calico and one Tor-tie. We don’t have to stay together but it sure would be

nice if we could!

►Where’s my tail? That’s what I keep asking. You see, I

have some Manx in me which means I have no tail. But I don’t care, less to

clean I say. I’m Washington and I am a 5-month-old

gray Tabby boy. If you want someone

to play with you and to snuggle, I am the

perfect match. No need to sign up at

match.com, you found the purrfect match right here!

Page 18: PawPrints Magazine September 2014

My name is Harley and I am a super, loveable BIG

cat. I do great with cats, kids and dogs, too. In fact, I am part dog or

maybe I was a dog in a former

life. I follow you around

and want to be near you just like a dog. I

am a little older and I have

diabetes which is easily con-trolled with

insulin. The vet thinks it is possible that I can get off this insulin soon and maybe get it managed with just special food. That’s my goal along with finding a loving home. It is very easy for you to give me shots twice a day and I am feeling so much better now. If you are interested in meeting me,

please call and my groupie girls can tell you more about me and more about this diabetes stuff. Honestly, it’s easy stuff and not too much money either. Adopt-An-ANGEL’s phone number is 910-392-0557 - I highly recommend you call it.

I am sponsored by Perry Davis. Thank you!

My name is Samson and I’m only 7-

months-old and 33

pounds. I was found wandering as a stray and had

never been given any

care or attention.

After being a pitiful,

abandoned pup, I was extremely

thrilled being in a foster home. Now, I have a big heart and smile because of what my foster family has done for me. I have received all my vaccinations, I’m neutered, I’m heartworm negative and I’m on preventative. I’m a very loving dog who is good with kids, cats and other dogs. I’m even

house-trained and crate-trained! I am currently accepting applications for my new forever home. You can find an application online at www.oc-paw.com or you may call

Onslow County Partners for Animal Welfare at 484-883-3552. Oh yeah, I’m also excelling in a training program

and in a few weeks I will stand for my companion dog cer-tification. Impressive, huh!

◄We two sisters found ourselves at the shelter when our family moved away and couldn’t take us. Oh well, their sad misfortune could be your lucky day because we are two wonderful, loveable girls! My name is Cricket and I’m the chocolate-brown kitty on top. My fur is the color of a tootsie roll, I swear! My Tabby sister, Zoe, is on bottom. We are 4-years-old, spayed, litterbox-trained, friendly to children and accustomed to living with a friendly dog. We are used to living indoors only and love dry food. Double your love and adopt us!

◄My name is Larry and, although I’m homeless, I’m managing to make the best of things with my upbeat and very friendly personality. I love being with other cats and am a good friend to Tabitha, pictured above. My other buddy, Rocco, was adopted recently. I hope I’m next! I’m a 1-year-old boy who enjoys laying in the sunshine and being rubbed. Please come meet me!

◄Don’t be misled by my

name: I’m only 3-years-old! They should

have called me “Little Man” instead of Old Man

because I’m a small boy at 21 pounds. I’m a

mini-Schnauzer who melts

hearts easily with my loving

and gentle personality. My human died so

I hope to be back in a family

soon. I’m house-trained, leash-trained, neutered, friendly with

children and not much of a barker. I’m such a loveable, fantastic little boy. Hurry over - I’m a true gem!

◄My name is Tabitha and I’m a 1-year-old girl who is already spayed, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. I’m a super-sweet kitty, always glad to be kissed and cuddled. I get along great with other cats (that’s one of my very best friends, Larry, pictured below) and I enjoy batting toys in between naps. Could I be your new girl? Hurry on over to the shelter!

I’m one German Shep-herd mix puppy you’d love to have as a fam-ily companion! Keep

reading to find out why! My name is Mary and

I’m a 7-month-old spayed girl. I am an extremely smart, ad-

venturous and curious pup. I know the com-mand “off”, I sit when you put the leash on me, and I know that

“Let’s go” means we’re ready to go outside. I play nicely in a fence and have a great time

with other dogs. I adore people and love giving them kisses. Toys and rawhides are two of my other favorites.

I’m crate-trained, on heartworm prevention and just 37 pounds. Don’t I sound like a great girl? Well, please

come meet me and let’s see if we’re a match! For more information or directions to the shelter, please call the

New Hanover Humane Society at 910-763-6692 .

well-mannered, I walk on a leash like a

dream and I’m in-credibly handsome!

I'm all set to be a fantastic companion

for some lucky family, so please come out and see if I'm the one for you. You’ll also be pleased to know that my adoption fee includes a

physical examination, heartworm test and rabies vaccina-tion. Wow, what a deal! For driving directions or more in-

◄I’m homeless through absolutely no fault of my own. There was a domes-tic violence situation in my previous home and I had to leave. My name is Prissy (A309595) and I’m a super affectionate girl who will rub against your legs and I’ll even stand up on my hind legs so that I can nuzzle my head into your hand. I’m looking for a kind, stable and loving fam-ily that I can make a life-time commitment to.

◄My name is Rudy (A308864) and I came to the shelter with Stormy. I’m a neutered boy who is the king of head butts. I give head butts galore! I’ll head butt your head, your cheek, your hand, your leg...anywhere I can show affection! I love to be held, I’m easy-going and laid-back, I’m already neu-tered and vaccinated, and I’m 2-years-old. Please come out to the shelter and adopt me today.

►My name is Charlotte (A308765) and I was once a family dog but

they told me I’d grown to be a bigger dog than

they expected. What? I’m only 40 something pounds. There is no

denying it, I am simply wonderful! I’m crate-trained, leash-trained,

good with kids and other dogs, spayed and vacci-nated. I’m very sweet,

know how to sit on com-mand and I’m full of good energy. I love

plush squeaky toys and after being betrayed by my family, I think I deserve lots of those in my new home (I like to throw them up in the air and then I’ll run and retrieve them). Let’s share this life

together and make each other feel loved.

►I am one heartbroken little guy, well, maybe not so little...but I

am very sad about being

homeless. I’m Lazy Boy

(A309518) and I’m 7-years-old. I spent those years being a wonderful

companion to my family but a new human baby came along, so now I’m here at the shelter. I love being petted

and getting neck and chin scratches and I love being held. I’ve only lived inside, I’m litter-trained, I’m good with kids

and other cats and I just want to be part of a family again.

►You would think after loving my family for 13-

years, finding a new home wouldn’t be on

my daily list of chores. Well, it is. I was

abandoned, along with two other feline family

members, in a Rubbermaid bin. We had to be treated for heat exhaustion but

we’re doing well now. My name is Stormy

(A308904) and I’m an inside-only, super

friendly, big cat who loves neck and chin scratches. I’m purry,

nuzzly and very eager to make you feel loved. I promise to greet you like we’re long lost friends.

◄I’m Rosie (A309415) and I’m a Rottie and German Shepherd mixed girl. I’ve already been spayed and vac-cinated and I’m good with other dogs. I en-joy playing ball, I know how to sit on com-mand, I have a great temperament, and I’m a treat aficionado. Pair that with my willing-ness to please and be loved, and you’ve got yourself a highly train-able and intelligent family member.

My name is Feather and I'm a spayed

Boxer/Bulldog mix girl who's 1½-years-old.

Friendly doesn't even begin to describe me - I

love everyone I meet and am so eager to show what a sweet,

playful and happy gal I am!! I can't wait to share my outgoing

personality with a lov-ing family so hurry on

down and see if I'm the love of your life! If you

Hello there! My name is Armstrong

and I am a very good boy. I am

happy and exuber-ant. I seem to do

well with other dogs but I’m just not too

fond of cats. I enjoy having fun and I

love to pull my foster mom on a skate-

board or run along-side a bike. I love to play, but I am really calm inside a house. If you are active people, I would even do well in

an apartment. I am neutered, heartworm negative, vaccinated and weigh around 50 to 60 pounds. To adopt me, please pick up the phone today and call

Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-392-0557.

My name is Lady and I'm a 3-year-old black

and white Lab mix. I'm a sweet girl who has a lot of energy

and I'd love to find an exercise partner. I

would be great at agil-ity-training and I love

the water. I love being around people and am eager to please. I was

treated for heart-worms, I’m spayed

and I’m up to date on my shots. I get along with most dogs, but I like to

herd cats, so I probably need a home without them. Please call 910-271-3101 to meet me.

My name is Camper and I'm a love-able 2 to

3-year-old Walker

Hound. I'm up to date

on my shots and neu-

tered. I get along great with everyone I meet - other dogs, cats and people of all sizes. I'm a quiet dog and eager to please. I did OK in the house, but I'd really rather be outdoors. So if you have a farm or property and need a great companion, I'm your guy. Please call 910-271-3101 and we can

arrange a time and place to meet.

My name is Tess and I’m 4-years-old, spayed,

house-trained and ready for a great home! I love

life and meeting new peo-ple, I’m great with kids and I’m very smart! I

would do best in a family setting with another dog my size (preferably not under 35 pounds) and it

would be best if my new home did not have cats. I am energetic so a jog or long walk with me in the

morning would be the best routine to keep me (and you) fit and less anxious when family members have to leave. Check out this great video of me online at http://youtu.be/IB7A9TNuens. Please contact Katie with RescueConnect at 410-441-9241 to meet me!

Ready for a great com-panion to take on walks

I’m a 5 to 6-year-old, 38 pound, spayed Corgi mix who is healthy and vacci-nated! I like to hang out with humans and I’m a sweet girl! I am blind in my right eye and have limited vision in my left.

This makes me a little unsure in new settings. In a home setting, I get along great with my foster brother.

Given my low key demeanor with small dogs, everyone expects me to do great with cats, too! Please contact Ava at 704-560-9517 or Leslie at 910-352-5150 with RescueConnect if you are interested in meeting me!

Bonjour! Comment

allez-vous? Je m’appelle

Bisou! Bisou

means “a friendly kiss” and I’ve got

a ton of them! Are you looking

for a low rider with a little international beagle flair? One with a certain je ne sais quoi? Then look no further – I am

adorable! I have mastered the leash walk, dogs come from all around to see how it’s done – owners take notes,

Bassets scratch their heads in amazement. And I’m a marathoner when it comes to walking. And while we’re

out, I love to visit with all of the people and dogs we meet. I run, I play, I maintain a joie de vivre for each new day!

I’m a lover of all things: people, dogs, children – the more the merrier. I may be a little on the mischievous side, but only in an effort to keep you on your toes. I will soon be saying “au revoir” to these nasty heartworms, but we can arrange for travel in October. I’m ready to go – my bis-cuits and berets are packed! To make me a member of your family, call Carolina Bassett Hound Rescue at 919-708-4247 or visit www.cbhr.com. Also, we are always short on foster homes! If you have ever thought about

fostering, contact CBHR for more details.

I am sponsored by Pine Valley Animal Hospital. Thank you!

URGENT, URGENT! My Time Is Running Out! If you’re one of those

loving people who feels that older dogs deserve the warmth and dignity of a home instead of a

concrete kennel, please come adopt me! My

pleading eyes say it all. I’m Annie (A013581), a 6 to 8-year-old Boxer

mix girl who was found as a stray. Although no one has come to claim me, I must have been loved at one time be-

cause I have a friendly, social disposition and I

get along well with other dogs. I also enjoy

getting out of my kennel for hugs and kisses. I just don’t want to go back! Won’t you hurry over and get to know me? My adoption fee includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, deworming, 30 day flea/tick treatment and my spay surgery. The shelter is now

open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to

4pm. For more information, please call Pender County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484 or send an email to

[email protected]. Please help turn my sad eyes into ones filled with gratitude!

I am sponsored in loving memory of Hank Harrington.

My name is Belle and I am a vision-impaired Black Lab/Pit mix who is homeless. I’ve had a rough life so far, having

lived my life in a junk yard, but you can help change that. I can’t see very well so I can't find my family. Please share

your eyes with me and help me. I cannot see out of one eye and I only see shadows out of my other. I am a gentle,

funny, easy dog who gets along with cats and dogs. I do need a patient, stable, quiet family because of my rough

start. I need someone who doesn’t have a lot of company in and out. I like to carry tennis balls and hoard toys! I am

house-trained, fixed, vaccinated and heartworm negative. If you would like to know more about me, call Adopt-An-

ANGEL at 910-392-0557.

I am sponsored by Cindy Meyers in loving memory of Harley and Murphy.

Hi! My name is Ellie and I should totally be your

new cat! I was found as a stray in Brunswick

County, and I lived at the shelter there until Adopt-An-ANGEL scooped me up! I’m currently staying

in a foster home, but I can’t wait to find a home of my very own! I am a dainty girl who is around 2-years-old. I LOVE to be around people, I give

lots of kisses and I am an excellent snuggler. I es-pecially like to sit on the

back of the couch with one back foot hanging down. I like other cats (even when other cats aren’t too sure about me – I just want to be friends!) and I would probably do okay

with dogs, if the dogs are okay with cats. I am spunky and funny. I like to be picked up and carried around, and I will

follow you around like a puppy. If you call for me, I talk back to you. I LOVE dangly toys and feather wands and I will drag them around the house playing by myself! I am spayed, up to date on my shots and have excellent litter-box manners. I am pretty much just a fantastic girl – all I

need is a forever home. Could it be with you? Please call Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-392-0557 or visit us online at

www.adoptanangel.net for more details.

I am sponsored by Netop and Ruby in memory of Sampson.

Hi, my name is Caine! Will you take a minute to read about me? I have been

waiting for a furever home for over a year! Sadly, last

year my owner passed away from cancer and I

was left with no where to go. My foster mommy took me in and has had me ever since. She has eight other fur kids and, since I have

to be the only fur baby, she rotates me every single day to get attention time. She knows this is no life for me. I may be an 11-year-old American Bulldog but I have tons of life left. I love to play fetch and I am probably the best snug-gler you could ever ask for. I am a very loyal boy who will be your constant companion. If you are looking for a dog

with a ton of personality I am your boy! I need a home with no dogs, cats or small kids. I am not mean at all; I

just have never lived with any of those and would do best in a home without. I am completely house-trained and I never need to go in a crate as I will never chew anything

up! I have no major health issues either, I am looking pretty good for my age. Please consider adopting me,

you will not regret it! Call my Pender Perfect Pets foster mom anytime at 910-538-0106. She will include 6-month’s worth of heartworm prevention for me,

3-month’s worth of food and also free petsitting for life (that is what she does for a living). Please call today!

◄It’s me, Shelby! I really am a sweet-heart and I love to cuddle and give

kisses. If you have another 4-legged

family member, we would need to see

how we get along. At 7½-years-old, I may be getting a little gray around

the muzzle, but I still have lots of pep. If you are looking for a more mature dog who has manners, I’m your

girl. Come check me out!

◄It’s me, Raven! I’m

one of the pups from Piper’s Pup-pies. I am now 3½-months-old.

I am spayed, microchipped

and vaccinated. I really love the water. If a pool

is not available, well, a water dish will do just as well! I was part of a big family, so it would be great to have an-

other 4-legged friend to play with. Please come meet me!

◄My name is Tessie. My markings make it look like I have white socks on my feet. I’m a healthy girl who would love a fenced-in yard where I could run around and play – per-haps with children in the family. That would be a dream come true. I would really love to celebrate my third birth-day with my forever family – is that you? Come visit me any day from 9am to Noon!

▲Clifford’s my name! I’m a young lad at just 1½-years-old. Since arriving at Paw’s Place I have been given so

much attention. My heart just melts when people show me love and affection. I’m neutered, up to date on shots and

microchipped. I am healthy! I get along with everyone. I’m not too big – I’m just right. One volunteer says that I have “bedroom eyes”. I’m not sure what that means, but maybe

you do – so come on out and ask for Clifford.

◄My name is Casper and I did not have a great home life before arriving at Paw’s Place. I survived by staying under the radar and acting tough when I had to. Do you have a home where I can just be sweet me? I’d do best in a home with-out children but it would be really cool if you had another small dog to help me learn how to behave in a real home. At just 3-years of age and under 25 pounds, I just know that I can learn to trust people again if you are patient with me. Will you give me a chance?

◄My name is Baby, and that’s what

I was to my former owners – their

baby. But they were getting on in years and realized they

couldn’t take care of me the way they

wanted to, so that is why I’m looking for a

new family. I love people, but not so much other dogs –

that is because I was their one and only. I will make a great companion for someone who has a lonely heart and likes to go for walks and give belly rubs. Pick me!

◄I am truly one of the sweet-est, most affectionate kittens you will ever have the good fortune to meet - and I’m up for adoption! My name is

Elizabeth (A013534) and I’m a 4-month-old girl with me-dium-length, soft grey fur.

When I was taken out of my cage for this photo, I didn’t try to run off. No, I immediately started purring and rubbing myself against everyone,

loving the attention. I’m defi-nitely not a shy kitty, I do love humans. I hope you’ll come quickly to the shelter to meet

me! I’m a real gem and I’ll make someone so very happy.

NOW OPEN ON SUNDAYS! 1pm to 4pm

Please Adopt! WE’RE OVERCROWDED AND NEAR CAPACITY.

◄I’m a very friendly and loving Husky mix girl named Maya (A011361) and I hope to be meeting you soon! When I ar-rived at the shelter in February, I was under-weight and had a chain wrapped around me. Today, I’m at a healthy weight, I walk well on a leash, I get along with other dogs and I’m look-ing forward to being with folks who love me and treat me right! Let’s go!

►Hello there! I’m a Shar Pei mix named

Theo (A013586) and I’d love to be your new best friend! I’m just 3-years-old and I have a

happy, friendly and loving personality. I

may be a bit shy when we first meet, but I

quickly warm up and am sooooo happy for kind words and loving

hugs. My siblings have all been adopted so it’s my turn now to

be the lucky one. Won’t you come by the

shelter today?

►Looking for a beautiful Calico girl to brighten up

your home and heart? How about me? I’m Tiara (A013686), a

1-year-old girl who was found outside as a

stray. I am shy at first but I warm up quickly and I love being held and caressed by kind

hands. I would love to find myself purring in a

home soon. Please come to the shelter so

that I can be yours!

◄Hi! My name is Willow (A013379) and I’m ready to be back in a home where I be-long! There are so many loud noises here. Can I go home with you? I’m a 6-month-old girl who finds com-fort being held and cuddled by humans. They make me feel safe and loved. Come visit me today and let’s see if I’m your girl! ◄I’m an extra-sweet

and precious kitten who just wants to be held and loved! I am quite content to be held in your arms as long as you’ll let me; I don’t scramble to get away. My name is Katie (A013559) and I’m a 3-month-old darling who was found as a stray. I’ve been here almost a month so I hope you’ll be coming for me soon! I love to play, eat, nap and melt hearts - come get me!

(A072803), a 1½-year-old male Lab/Boxer mix.

Happy doesn't even begin to describe

smile! I can't wait to find my soul mate who will take me jogging on the

beach, hiking in the woods and, of

course, let me have dibs on the couch! My adoption fee includes a physical examination, heartworm test, rabies vaccination and neuter surgery - wow! Please come out

and meet me - I could be your perfect sidekick! For driving directions or more information, call Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services at 910-754-8204.

Alakazaam!!! It's me! Magic! I’m a 2-year-old male

Walker Hound, tall and lean like basket-

ball great Magic Johnson. And, like

Magic, I have a magical personality. I love everyone and they love me. I am being trained in the

Monty's Home Pawsitive Partners Prison Program for eight weeks, where

I'll be getting my diploma, which tells you that I can sit, stay, walk by your side on a leash, etc. etc. etc. You've got to come around and see me, because this photo doesn't do me justice.

◄I’m Caroline and I’m a very sweet puppy girl, just 10-months-old. I came to the shelter with my sister, Dakota. She’s waiting for a home, too! Our owner wasn’t prepared to look after two pup-pies so we were taken to Animal Control. Luckily, Pender Hu-mane Society saw us and took us in. I’m a very friendly, delightful young girl and I’d be a welcome addition to any lucky family!

◄One ear up and one ear down - it’s my signa-ture look! My name is Benji and I’m a very precious 1½-year-old

boy who was running out of time at a shelter in

Columbus County when my new friends took me in. I’m a playful, happy and smart fellow. I love

everyone I meet and greet them as though

they are my best friends on the planet! I play

nicely with Levi (pictured below) so I’d probably do

well with other dogs, too. Please come meet me today!

◄▲I’m Lightning (at left) and this is my good friend, Sunshine! We two kittens are not sib-lings, but we’ve become best buddies in our foster home

and can be adopted together or separately. I’m a little boy and I was found in the middle of the road by one of the shelter staff. Sunshine was very sick when she arrived,

but she has recovered fully. We love to play, cuddle, eat, nap and bat toys around. To know us is to love us, so

please call the shelter today and let’s get together!

►I’m a big, cuddly boy named Otis and I need a loving home. You see, my

owner passed away and I

sure do miss being part of a family. I’m very sweet and I wel-

come atten-tion, whether it’s kisses or kind hands on my fur. I get along with other kitties - in fact, my friend Buttons is also looking for a family. I’m neutered, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. All I

need is a human companion to make me happy again.

►We are two very charming brothers named Mikey and Peanut! We get

along great, as you can see from our

photo, but we do not have to be adopted together. However, you might just de-

cide ‘two’ is a magic number when you see how we complement each other - we’re so entertain-ing and very sweet! We are young boys who love playing

with toys and cuddling with humans, and we also get along with the other cats here. We’re in great health and are

neutered, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. Adopt us and you’ll wonder how you ever got along without our love!

Mikey Peanut

◄Hi there! You’re looking at your new best friend. My name is Levi and I’m a very loving boy, just 9-months-old. I know that I will make you happy because I’m friendly, calm and I listen to commands, such as ‘sit’. I play well with Benji, at top, so I bet I’d get along with other dogs, too. I came to the shelter when I was running out of time. They saved me for you!

Hi! My name is Maria and I'm available for cuddles. I'm 8 to 10-months-old, I’ve been spayed and I’m up to date on my vaccinations. I have a very sweet loveable personality. It is quite possible that I could have some Maine Coon in me with this fluffy tail. Did you see how beautiful it is? It would probably wag like a dog’s tail if you came and found me at PetSense in Shallotte, NC. If you would like to know more about me or would like

to inquire about the adoption process, please call Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-392-0557. You may also

Hi! I am Andy and I was found wandering by a

good Samaritan. Luckily, they brought me to

ready to be part of a fam-ily. I like kids and other pets and would be your best friend forever. If

◄My name is Helga and I am a beautiful 3-year-old Blue Pitbull. I was in horrible shape when I was found wandering the streets of Wilmington. Now, I have been spayed, I'm up to date on my vaccines and I’m very ready for my forever home. I am extremely sweet with all people but I need a home with no other pets. I want you all to myself. I love car rides, the beach, going on walks and cuddling.

►Hello everyone, my name is Pearl and I am a 1-year-old female Black Labrador. I have been through training at Ca-nines for Service and I know about 30 com-

mands! How's that for impressive!! I did not

make it into the program for reasons out of my

control. I am a pretty big girl weighing in at 70

pounds. I am presently living with a Doberman and boy, do we love to

play. I have so much love to give and I can't wait for a family of my own. I am completely vetted and micro-

chipped and just waiting for you to claim me as your own.

►Hi, I'm Dolly, a very sweet, energetic black and white

female Shih Tzu. I was born 3-years ago and adopted by a

family who chained me up outside and never gave me any medical care much less love and attention. Since

being rescued, I've bonded very quickly to my foster mom

and will do the same with you. I really need a stable environment. Since I had never had vet care, I am blind in one eye and my vision is compromised in the other. I can see out of my somewhat

good eye but need patience. If you will take a chance on me, I promise to be your very best friend. I really am a lover. I will

need eye drops in my eyes a few times a week.

►My name is Kahlua. I love everyone and get so excited when people come around

because I want everyone

to pet me. I had to have

my leg ampu-tated because of an injury that healed wrong but that does not slow me

down one bit. I love to play and go for long walks. I have been through training and behave very well. I like

most dogs but I will chase cats. Please take a chance on me and call R.A.C.E. today.

◄My name is Bailey and I am an 8-years-young Shep-herd and Chow mix. I hail from Ohio where unfortu-nately, my owner recently passed away. His best

friend raised money for me to be flown to NC where I

hope to find my new forever home. I am a beautiful 65 pound bundle of love. I am staying with 6 dogs, so it's safe to say I get along with

dogs just fine. I am ob-sessed with balls, I love to chase them and I will run after them as long as you keep throwing them. I am

fully vetted, spayed, on heartworm prevention and micro-chipped. I really am a lot of fun.

►My name is Buttercup and

I absolutely love people

and other ani-mals. I am a beautiful red-dish gold Lab

mix. I have an incredibly lov-ing nature and will be an awe-some family dog. I am around 2-years-old and I am be-ing trained by my foster mom - who by the way just loves

me to pieces. I was turned in to the shelter with my 7 adorable puppies (who have all been adopted). I weigh just 40 pounds and am just as sweet as they come. I

love walks, the dog park, car rides and anything else we can do together.

◄I’m Fonzie and I am one cool dude!

I may be a little short, but don't hold that against me! I am about 5-years-

old and I’m a Beagle mix. Laid-back and very affectionate is

how volunteers describe me. Oh -

and of course ADORABLE! I love to play with tennis

balls and I love to be petted. I am a very

family-oriented dog who is smart and eager to please.

◄They got it right when they named me Baby! That’s what I am - a big baby! I am such a sweet girl! I love to play and be petted and I do really well walking on a har-ness. I can even sit! And there's nothing I like more than playing with squeaky toys. I am about 6-years-old but still love to run like a puppy. (I just wear out easier and faster!!!) I would love for September to be the month I’m adopted!

►I’m Owen and I’m the funniest boy ever! I’m a 6-year-old brin-dle Boxer who came

to SOAR when my owners got pregnant and felt they wouldn’t

have time to spend with me. I’m neu-

tered, vaccinated and extremely smart! I’m

energetic and won-derful with people. I

love to give kisses, so don’t wear make-

up when you come meet me or you won't

have any left on you when you leave!!!

►Kita's the name and lovin's my game! I'm a

sweet 3½-year-old boy with a mix of

herding dog, Corgi, Akita (thus the name!) and Romeo! They take great care of me here at

SOAR and I have made some won-derful friends - but

I want nothing more than a fur-

ever home of my own and someone to love me as much as I love them! I will be waiting for you, ma chérie amour!

►We are Dusty (tri-colored female), Casper and Mini Moi (both white

males) and we are waiting to meet you! Our mom,

sister and brother have already gone to their "furr-ever"

homes and now it's our turn!!! We are 3½-months-old,

spayed/neutered, up to date on kitten shots and ready to

go! We are three of the sweetest kittens ever and funny, funny, funny! Come visit us at SOAR and watch us play.

Before long, you will have fallen in love!

►I’m Sadie and I’m the sweetest girl!

I’m a Beagle/Hound mix, 30 pounds and 6-years-old. I came

to SOAR because my person passed away. I’ve always

been an inside dog and I’m spayed, up

to date on shots, house-trained, very

submissive - but I like other dogs,

people and I don’t even mind cats! I

love to sleep in the bed with you at

night! Please come meet me today!

Adopt-An-ANGEL Seeks Volunteers Do you have some spare time? Would you like to help Adopt-An-ANGEL find homes for homeless animals? They are looking for some energetic, responsible, committed, passionate people to help out at adop-tion fairs. They hold adoption fairs every Saturday and Sunday at Petco

on South College Road in Wilmington from 10am to 6pm. Volunteer shifts generally run from 10am to 2pm or 2pm to 6pm one day on the weekend. You can sign up weekly so come when you can. It does require some manual labor such as lifting cages, cleaning cages and walking strong dogs. There are also a few weekly shifts open for cage cleaning at various pet stores throughout the week and some transport options, too. It can be very meaningful and rewarding to help a homeless animal find its forever home. For more information, please call Art at 203-994-3765. You may only be one person, but you can be one person who makes a difference. Life is too short, do stuff that matters!

We are all from different Breed Rescues. Please read our stories!

Breed Rescues

BOSTON TERRIER RESCUE TEAM CAROLINA

My name is Coco! I’m an 8-year-young Boston Terrier lady who is look-ing for a furever home.

I have already been spayed, I’m up to date on my shots, I’m micro-chipped, I’m heartworm

negative and I’m all ready to be adopted! I get along with everyone I meet and just love my

walks. Do you have room in your home and

heart for me? If so, please email [email protected] or call 828-778-2045 today.

CAROLINA POODLE RESCUE

My name is Aladdin! My owner turned me in to the shelter as she

said she could no longer care for me. I am a really sweet, 7-year-old, male, silver Miniature Poodle and live to be loved. Show me a little affection and I

will be devoted to you! I am very happy to lay in your lap or at your feet

in a dog bed. I really do like to be with you, whether it is at home, going for a walk or riding in the car. Soak-ing up sunshine on the deck is also a favorite. If you let me, I will curl up in bed with you and sleep all night. I am

a quiet boy who would do best in a home with no young children and maybe a "buddy" to keep me company when

you are gone. I am looking for my forever home. Visit www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and apply. If you have any

questions, call 864-489-3559. Hope to meet you soon!

GREAT DANE RESCUE ALLIANCE

I'm an 18-month-old Great Dane named Titus! I love to play fetch and tug-of-war and

I walk phenomenally on a leash! I know some basic commands such as sit and

stay, but my "sit" is more of a "lay down" since I can't sit on the hardwood floors without

sliding down. I get along great with other dogs but I

would prefer a home without children. I'm really a good

dog and you can tell I'm trying to please you, I just don't know exactly how to all the time just yet. I'm also house

and crate-trained, too! To adopt me, call 704-559-4121 or email [email protected].

SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS

Hi, I’m Ariel! I’m a tiny mini-Schnauzer. At 3-years-old and just 10 pounds, I’m a timid little girl but I’m very loving once I get to know you. At first, I will need time to adjust to my sur-

roundings, but given the proper environment I will be a wonder-ful family companion. I would be happiest in an adult-only

home or one with older kids. I am microchipped, heartworm

negative, vaccinated and spayed. If you are interested in me and would like to read more about me or other pets up for adoption, please visit

www.schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org. Please call 919-723-7145 if you need an application mailed or faxed to you.

SIAMESE CAT RESCUE CENTER

My name is Sabrina (VA9860) and I'm a Snowshoe Siamese. I lost my home due to

no fault of my own. Now, I can't seem to catch a break and

find a new one. What's a girl to do? I

love chatting, long walks around the

house, lap sitting and helping you do the dishes. Dishes you might say...yes, I'm not afraid of water at all. I actually

try to get in the sink and help you. I am scared of other furry friends and I would do best in a home as an only pet.

Please contact Siamese Cat Rescue Center by visiting http://va.siameserescue.org or by calling 540-672-6373.

I also want to add that SCRC has an amazing fleet of volunteers who will help get me to my furever home.

COASTAL CAROLINA BOSTON TERRIER RESCUE

My name is Delilah and I’m a Boston Terrier mix with a pure Boston per-sonality. I am an obedi-ent dog with excellent manners, I walk on a

leash without pulling and know basic commands. I

don’t even mind going into the crate while you are away or at bedtime

but will happily curl up in bed with you at night. I would enjoy a fenced area to run around in or a dog park. For

more info or to contact my foster family, please email [email protected] or call 252-633-0987. Visit us online at

www.ccbtr.org or check us out on Facebook.

Dr. Christian Bolz Dr. Debbie Bolz Dr. Colleen Peat

Hi, my name is Riley and I’m an almost 2-year-old, very

energetic, Bos-ton Terrier mix who is looking for an active

family to call my own. I get

along great with male dogs and would probably excel in agility-training! I love to run and play and hang out on the couch! I’m very sweet

and snuggly and my foster mom says I will melt your heart. I will need to go on daily walks or runs and will be your best friend for life! If you are interested in adopting me,

please email Boston Terrier Rescue Team of the Carolinas at [email protected] or call 828-778-2045.

I am sponsored by Top Toad in the Cotton Exchange

in Downtown Wilmington, NC. Thank you!

I’m a 1-year-old boy named Petey and I’m the best friend

you’ve been searching for! Gre-garious, outgoing, sweet as honey, and playful as a

kitten. That’s me! I would do well in a home with other

cats and I get along great with children. I just love my peo-ple. I’m a social boy who loves to

play and just wrap myself around you. I keep myself enter-

tained with a few toys and am simply a fantastic companion. My good points

just go on and on, folks! Oh, and as for my health, I am neutered, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. Give Cat Adop-tion Team a call at 910-792-9014 if you’d like more infor-

mation. I’m also at Petsmart in Wilmington 7 days a week!

I am sponsored by ECM Corporation. Thank you!
