This frog goes like a rocket and is so named because of its remarkable long-jump abilities and streamlined body. The long-leaping frog is native to Australia and is often found near streams, swamps, ponds and flooded grassy areas.

The aluminium bronze coin's reverse portrays two Rocket Frogs in colour against a background of their natural habitat. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark and monetary denomination are also incorporated in the design.

The coin's reverse depicts a yellow and black snake curled around a tree branch. The snake has a striking black diamond set in its visible eye. The Chinese character for 'snake' and the inscription 'Year of the Snake' also appear in the design.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, this coin is housed in a black and red display case and illustrated shipper and comes accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
