What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

Channels of Feedback

Through Surveymonkey, Youtube and through messenger questioning, I have gathered a range of feedback in regards of my project.

Advert Response

Advert the majority of the responses were positive, proclaiming that the design was ‘effective’ and ‘appealing’. Though simplistic in appearance, the feedback shows that the Advert does as I planned, portraying the important details in an eye-catching and simple manner.

Digipack Response

Digipack the response to the Digipack was mixed. Though I had chosen script font for the intension of an artistic style, the feedback shows that some thought it to be ‘too florid for a CD cover’ and ‘closely packed too which exacerbates the issue’. Though others have thought the fonts ‘fit the style’ in regards of the band and their brand identity. In consideration of the feedback, I believe the script has expressed my artistic style I intended for the band, however I could have altered it so it is more reader-friendly in regards to the negative feedback.

Music Video Response

Music Video Again the responses to the video were mixed. Though visibly eye-catching, some believed it to be too realistic to the lyrics.

“i love how the visuals match the lyrics completely is a really nice little story teller and reminds me slightly of nightmare before chrismas when the skeletons appear! i love this video and think youve done an amazing job and like the previous comment says u must of had a lot of patience for it. well done.” “The Music in this 100% matches the visuals (Y) I think its a really good attempt at animation... I was crap when I tried so youve obviously got more patience and talent than me lol.” “soo kewl =D well done love the doodles it works really well with the music because its so unique =)”

Feedback #2

“I don't think the animation really works with this kind of music, its a little repetitive but you can see that you have put a lot of work into the stylisation of the video. I like the editing of the video, it works. I guess the video is about a man in love with a woman, but she knows better than to get with a guy like him.” “very fun and alot to look at and edited well, however i do not think the animation used really matches the track. Can see youve put alot of work in, well done.”

Conclusion

With the feedback, I believe that although the images sometimes literally follow the lyrics, I could have also used symbolism in order to still get the narrative across to the audience. Needless to say, the editing and animation of the project took a long time and effort, paying off in regards to the positive feedback. If I were to have a more expansive knowledge on key-framing and the editing programming within Premier Pro, along with more time, then I believe I would have created a better piece.

Conclusion Cont....

Having said that, I still think I have reached the expectations of what the project entailed. Providing a brand identity for my chosen band, a suitable Digipack work marketing, an Advert that promotes the Digipack and a video which gives the taste of the alternative/’artsy’ band.
