New Functions

Security EnhancementThe security enhancement allows to limit the access on folders on the projects ThroughCADISON user management. The permissions from the user management and from thevisibility settings are take effect on the servers filesystem thereby. Thus we can ensurethat access to project data can be restricted not only within the CADISON modules, butalso on file system level (e.g. Windows Explorer).

(#26795)Display of additional columns for “Add new user” If commands “Add new user”, “Add new user group” or “Add new role/function” isselected in the ProjectEngineer, then the available users, user groups or roles aredisplayed in the table dialog. In the process, only the column “Object description” was displayed and it was notpossible to display additional columns. Starting from this version, the columns to be displayed are determined on the basis ofthe existing table configurations. In the dialogs, the table configurations “Userreference” (VCS-ULNK) or “Role reference” (VCS-RLNK) are used. In order to displayadditional columns in the dialogs, these table configurations have to be adjusted. If there are no table configurations, then the column “Object description” is displayedfurther.

Setting a fixed date formatIf a date is selected in CADISON for DATE property using the user interface of CADISON,then the date is formatted according to the current settings of the operating system. Ifthere are problems in this formatting or if another formatting is preferred, then acountry-specific formatting can be done using the following entry in CADISON.INI: [PHi-CADISON]DATE_LOCALE=1031The number, to which the DATE_LOCALE is set, corresponds to the internal countrynumber of the operating system (1031 corresponds to English for example and 1033corresponds to German).

Changed Functions

(#26794)Size of graphic symbols in the Object Manager Since R9, CADISON symbols of template objects are displayed smaller as compared tothe older version in the Object Manager. This is the same in drawing comparison inDesigner as well as in the dialog for “Interchange graphic variables”. Starting from thisversion, sizes of previews can be defined using entries in CADISON.INI. For this purpose, the following entries have to be present in the section “[Phi-CADISON]:

[PHi-CADISON] THUMB_WIDTH=96 THUMB_HEIGHT=96

In this example, size is set to 96 x 96 pixels. Default value is 48 x 48 pixels. Valid values

12

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

are between 32 and 256. For run-time, automatic .BMP files are created for the previews in the selected librarydirectory. In the file names of .BMP files, even the size specification is obtained so thatindividual user can work with different settings.

Menu command “Display subordered level” changed English context menu command “Display subordered level” has been renamed as "Turnon level".

Versant Version 8.0.1.4.1010In this CADISON version, Versant version 8.0.1, patch 4, build 1010 is set. Using thisversion, the problem is eliminated that an entry was partially being created in theincidence protocol after expiry of the database timeout.

Automatic selection of A table configuration in the tree/table dialogIf a structured view is selected in the main window of Project Engineer, then CADISONchecks whether a table configuration with the same name is available. If it exists, then itis automatically used in the table. In tree/table dialogs of CADISON, this has not been done so far. An appropriate tableconfiguration is never searched for after the selection of a structured view. Starting from this version, tree/table dialogs act exactly like the main window of ProjectEngineer.

Automatic selection of a table configuration after the selection of a structuredviewIf a structured view is selected in the Project Engineer or Project Navigator, thenCADISON checks whether a table configuration with the same name is available. If itexists then it is activated automatically. Thereby, CADISON did not check in the previousversions for user-defined table configurations with the same name. This restriction hasbeen eliminated in this version. If table configuration with the same name does not exist, then CADISON checks whether any user-defined table configuration with the same nameis present.

Change in the column width after the selection of the structured viewIf another structured view is selected in CADISON, then a table configuration with thesame name is searched. If it is available, it is automatically used in the table. Thereby, the column widths from the table configuration were however not used in the previousversions, but the actual column widths. This is changed in this version so that columnwidths saved in the table configuration are always used.

TRANSFERDOCS at ITFTOOLS ignores deleted filesWhen the option -TRANSFERDOCS (contained in ITFTOOLS) is used, it checks whether adocument is already deleted. If this is the case, then no message appears anymore.

Bugfixes

Recalculation of undefined unit propertiesIf a property is not defined in CADISON, then it gets an internal value “999999999” andis output in CADISON either as “---” or as “undefined”. In case of a unit property (MAGNITUDE property), this “999999999” value is however

13

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

used only when the property has to be converted in another display unit. If for example alength has value “999999999” and the display unit is to be converted from “meter” to“miles”, then the value “999999999” is also recalculated according to the unit conversionfactor. This error is eliminated. Starting from this version, “999999999”-unit properties are nomore used for further calculations or the result of the recalculation is then also“999999999”.

Memory leak after using the function “Fill and number” If the function “Fill and number” is closed, then the dialog was not deleted from thememory in the previous versions. If the function was opened multiple times, then a lot ofmemory is getting used unnecessarily. Starting from this version, the memory is againreleased when closing the dialog.

(#26723)Freeze the computer when using Object Editor In some cases, the computer may freeze completely when opening or closing the ObjectEditor. This error has been eliminated.

(#26885)Data fields are not exported to Excel XML If table content is exported to Excel using an XML file, then the date field could not betransferred to Excel in the previous versions. When opening the XML file created, Excelshowed an error notification. Starting from this version, CADISON date field can becorrectly transferred to Excel in Excel-XML format.

(#26903)Assign / combine table selection Two commands “Assign table selection to …” and “Combine table selection with …” arepresent in the context menu. Since R9, both these commands were deactivated in thetree dialogs. These two commands were available only in the main window of the ProjectEngineer. Starting from this version, commands can be used again in the tree dialogs.

Change in the sequence in the tree context menu If the tree context menu is opened in the free area, the first entry was always “Displaynext level” in the previous versions although it was defined using the configuration filesthat the first command should be “Search…”. Starting from this version, the contextmenu of free area is always built corresponding to the specifications in the configurationfile and all commands that are not configured further are attached.

Multiple selections in the table disappears in the tree dialog If the table is displayed in the tree dialog, then multiple objects can be selected in thetable simultaneously. If another object is then selected in the tree (either using leftmouse-click or using right mouse-click, in order to open the tree context menu), then theactual table selected was lost since R9. Starting from this version, this is retained in caseof multiple selections in the table, if an object is selected in the tree.

Automatic selection in the table in tree dialogsIf the table is displayed in a tree dialog and the entries are available in the table, then noentry is selected automatically in the table since R9. In the older versions, the first entrywas always automatically selected in the table. Starting from this version, automaticselection is again carried out.

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

Specification of date of creation / author and revision date / last editor insystem tree If new entries are created in the system tree such as database groups and databases, these entries also obtained values for the properties creator, creation date, date ofmodification, last edited by like all the other database objects. Thereby, partiallydissonant values were displayed or generated for these properties. If a new entry iscreated in the system tree, these new entries are based on the database objects from thetemplate database (default database) and these specifications were acquired from thesetemplate objects. Since these specifications originated from the time of the last systeminitialization in case of template objects, the values, which were displayed for the objectsin the system tree, were dissonant.Starting from this version, correct information for properties is displayed for the elementsin the tree.

Display of deleted objects in table of tree dialog If the table is displayed in a CADSION tree dialog and the objects, which are actuallydisplayed in the table, are deleted while editing it, the deleted objects were not removedautomatically from the table since R9. If it was clicked on these objects later, then correctcontext menu was not available for these objects since the objects were already deleted. Starting from this version, objects deleted in the tree dialogs of CADISON areautomatically removed from the tables.

Addition of new entries in the dictionary If F2-key is pressed when editing the text in a cell, the window for text search opens inthe currently installed dictionary. Using this dialog, new entries can be also added.Thereby, the text was exactly transferred as it was entered in the search line in thedialog. Since the test in the search line starts with start * by default, this star was alsotransferred for the new dictionary entry in the previous versions. This error has been eliminated. Starting from this version, two special characters start *and arrowhead right > are ignored at the start of the search line since these areconsidered as internal control characters for operation f search.

Selection of view “ISOGEN isometry” in ObjectManagerIf the entry “ISOGEN isometry” is selected for the view in the ObjectManager, then all thesymbols were displayed in the right area for the display of template objects, even whenno graphic was defined for “ISOGEN isometry” for most of the template objects. Thiserror has been eliminated.

Size of the CADISON message dialogs and Yes/No dialogs In R10, new dialogs were integrated for messages and questions by CADISON. Thesehave replaced the old message dialogs. The size of the new dialogs had not beenhowever adjusted according to the size of the messaged. This error has been eliminated.

Object locks for revisions after check-in If the documents inclusive of revisions are checked out, then these are locked in the maindatabase. In the previous versions, only the locks for documents are removed after thecheck-in, however not for the revisions. Starting from this version, the object locks ofrevisions are removed again at the time of check-in.

Controlling the table configurations At the time of control of the table configurations (especially in case of default tableconfiguration), some errors may occur. Especially when working with different .CAC files,

15

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

this could not be saved certainly in case of a change in the default table configuration. The cause for this was that an anonymous table configuration is originated depending onthe situation, which could not be correctly processed. Previously, it was necessary todelete these anonymous table definitions in the .CAC file, in order to solve the problem.Starting from this version, CADISON automatically uses the table configuration with thename “default”, if an empty name is invoked internally for the table configuration to beused.

Deactivation of a user-defined table configuration An error was included in the control of the context menu command on the table title-bar.Using this context menu, it is possible to select user-defined table configurations. Byclicking again on the already activated table configuration (marked with a checkmark),this table configuration was deselected. However, the table used this table configurationfurther. Starting from this version, the “default” table configuration is automatically selectedwhen deselecting an active table configuration.

Objects in table of tree dialogsIn addition to the subordered objects of the object selected in the tree, even the objectfrom the tree is displayed in the table of tree dialogs since R9. In older versions, the treeobject was only then displayed in the table, when the tree object did not contain anysubordered objects. Starting from this version, tables in tree dialogs act like the tables inthe older versions so that the selected tree object is displayed only when it does notpossess any further subordered objects, which can be displayed in the table.

Restoration of a user-defined table configurationIf a user-defined table configuration is selected for this table in a dialog, which containsthis table, then it is automatically used again when re-opening the dialog. However, thisdoes not function for dialogs, in which new table introduced in CADISON R9 is used. Thiserror has been eliminated.

(#24257)Use of a saved column widthIf a table configuration is edited, it is possible to enter a width for the columns. Thiscolumn width is not used by CADISON in the previous versions, if the table configurationis automatically selected by CADISON. Starting from this version, even then the columnwidths are taken into account by CADISON, when CADISON automatically selects a tableconfiguration.

(#26476)Identification of recursive formulaeCADISON identified recursive formulae in the object model only on the level of an objectuntil previous version. When a formula referred to a further (e.g. superior) object, thetest for recursive formulae did not function anymore. In such cases, CADISON thencrashed at the time of an evaluation of the formula. Starting from this version, even therecursive formulae are identified, when they are linked using several objects. If a formulais identified as recursive, then CADISON displays the text “RECURSIVE” as propertyvalues.

Transfer of the date field to Microsoft AccessIf a table is exported to Microsoft Access from CADISON and if it is displayed in DATEproperties, it is then saved as DATE field in Access. Thereby, only lines could betransferred by CADISON in the previous versions, which also possessed a valid date. If aDATE property did not get any value in CADISON, an error message was displayed so far.

16

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

Starting from this version, no error message appears. In this case, the field remainsempty in Access.Note: an error message does not exist even when the date specification is defective (e.g.31.03.2011).

(#26839)Sort columns “Date of creation” and “Date of modification”All objects possess properties “date of creation” (P_creationdate) and “date ofmodification (P_updatedate). Although these fields contain date inputs, properties ofCADISON were so far considered as TEXT properties. Starting from this version, theseproperties are considered as DATE properties. When accessing these properties from an older database (created before R10.1), propertydefinitions are automatically changed by CADISON from TEXT to DATE.By means of this change, these properties can be sorted correctly in CADISON startingfrom this version (e.g. in table views or in reports).

Note: As far as all property definitions of P_creationdate and P_updatedate are notupdated in older databases, it may lead to sorting problems of these properties by allmeans. Only after complete update of property definitions, a correct sorting is ensured. It is to be taken into account that the conversion from TEXT to DATE implicate that theseproperties are now transferred as DATE fields to Microsoft Excel or even Microsoft Accessat the time of an export of a CADISON table.

Sorting of date columns in tablesIf date properties are displayed in a table in CADISON (object properties, which use theproperty type “DATE”), CADISON could not sort this column correctly. Starting from thisversion, DATE properties can be correctly sorted in tables.

Tree update in user managementAn object (e.g. a user) would appear twice in the tree if it was assigned to a role orgroup. Now it only appears subordered to the selected object.

Cancel button in table configuration dialogThis button was not translated into german.

Report creation into invisible directoriesThe dialog for report creation would formerly show all directories, regardless if they weremade invisible, using the function "Set visibility".

Wrong status for buttons in Tree dialogWhen the tree dialog in Designer was opened for the first time, the status of the buttons"Sort" and "Structure view (normal/reversed)" was wrong. Now these buttons aredisplayed as "pressed". Also dialog for "Synchronize drawing" was affected.

Wrong graphic and data loss after using "data from" and "data to"When using the functions "data from" and "data to" in Designer, and the selected objecthas a catalog entry, problems with graphics and object data would occur:- It would happen, that all graphic definitions at the target object were deleted, so allgraphic parameters were lost. Changing of e.g. "Height" would show no effect anymore.- It would happen, that graphic entries were multiplied. If the target object had a graphicentry, the new one from the source object would also be added.

17

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

Selecting a user in dialog "Set visibility"It could happen that the name of a user was cut if it was moved from left to right.

Wrong property filled while using "Standard Check Document"While using the function "Workflow > "Standard Check Document" on a drawing, theproperties "APPROVED" and "APPR_DATE" were filled out instead of "STDCHECKED" and"STDCHK_DATE".

Change of filename for ddf-filesCADISON created a ddf-file for every drawing. From this version on, the ddf-filenamecontains the full name of the drawing plus the ending .ddf. Example: pids0001.dwg.ddf.

Crash after showing dialog for folder selectionSome commands in CADISON show the Windows-dialog for selection of a folder (e.g.Import auxiliary object model). On some computers, this would cause a crash.

Contextmenu "Assign to object..."When multiple users are shown in the table in CADISON user management, the command"Assign to object.." is available in contextmenu. This command is now usable.

NO PDF-Creation on reports with link to drawingsWhen starting the PDF-Exporter on project level, reports that had been created on baseof a drawing were not converted to PDF. This problem has been solved.

Report Generator

New Functions

Translation for Excel reportsOptions “secondary language” and “multi-lingual”, which are available in the dialog forreport generation, are not internally evaluated further, if it concerns an Excel file for thereport. In the current version, Excel reports are to be created in secondary language ormulti-lingual like Word report.

Bugfixes

(#26491)Character length in Excel reports In previous versions, maximum 255 characters could be assigned per property in theExcel report generator. Starting from this version, this restriction does not exist.

Use of formulae in Word report templates In Word report templates, formulae such as “$P_project.PROJECT_NO$” can be entered. Thus, the valuation is diverted to another database. Thereby, the formatting entered inthe object model may be lost at the time of output depending on the properties used. This error is eliminated in this version.

Engineer

Neue Funktionen

Usage of AutoCAD plot styles at PDF creationStarting from this version, every drawing in CADISON has a new property called"PDF_PLOTSTYLE". It is empty by default. It is used by the PDF creator when it is runningin Designer. With the help of this new property it is possible to define a plot style which isto be used when creating a PDF file from this drawing.

Changed Functions

Handling of main windows in Engineer and PDM applications Handling of project windows is changed now in Engineer and PDM. There will be a newmenu item "Open Project-View window" under 'Project' menu. In Engineer, this will allowto open a new project window i.e. window with a project as root. In PDM, this will allowto open a window with system tree. With this, it is not required to close the PDMapplication when window with system tree is closed. Because user can always use thenew menu to open this window again. Also, in Engineer, confirmation will be asked touser before closing the last available window only and not for the last window withproject root. Because even if user closes the last window with project root there is anoption available to open this window again.

Search functionality on F3 key of tree control As per existing functionality, search dialog is opened when F3 key is pressed on a treecontrol. User can enter a search string and perform the search in tree control i.e. treenode whose text matches with the search pattern is selected one at a time. If user closesthis dialog and again presses F3 key, then the dialog is not opened and the searchfunction is executed based on the last search string. There are following changes in this functionality. 1) The old search dialog is now reimplemented using MFC technology. 2) There is an additional checkbox to decide whether this dialog should be openedeverytime the F3 key is pressed. If user selects this checkbox then on every F3 key thisdialog will be displayed. If this checkbox is not selected then the search mechanism isexactly same as the old dialog.

(#25096)Settings in the dialog “Project translation” If the dialog “project translation” is opened, the required translation options can be set inthe dialog. In the previous versions, all settings were saved permanently andindependent of project settings.Since the options “dictionary”, “configuration file”, “translate from” and “translate to”were however set in the project, the settings are pre-selected from the active projectstarting from this version. If settings, which cannot be implemented (e.g. if a dictionary is selected in the project, which is not available physically, or if a secondary language is selected, which is notavailable in the selected dictionary) are executed in the project, then these options arenot marked in the dialog. If “OK” button is activated in the dialog, then translation is notdone.

Change in the project language and the project translation

20

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

Function “Project translation” from Extra menu had carried out translation in the previousversions only then, when the target property, in which the translated term is to beentered, is empty. Thereby, it was not possible to change the secondary language in caseof an already translated project and subsequently, to translate the project again in thenewly selected secondary language.Starting from this version, the dialog “project translation” offers a new option “Translatetarget fields”. If this option is activated, all the objects are translated according to thecurrently set configuration and eventually, already filled target properties of thetranslation are overwritten.

Bugfixes

Multiple insertion in the main window of Engineer Functions “multiple insertions” and “individual insertion” are present in the Engineer. Inthe previous versions, the setting was saved only for the tree window, from which thecommand was invoked. If it was then clicked in another tree window for insertion afterthe object selection in Object Manager, then the current mode (multiple or individual)was not taken into account. With this update, identification whether the insertion has to be multiple or individual istaken into account independent of a special tree window.

Translation configuration with the same source and target propertyCADISON installation offers the translation configuration file “STANDARD.CTS”, whichdefined that the target properties for a translation correspond to the source properties. With this, e.g. the property P_name is translated directly as P_name. Previously, this “direct translation” did not function; i.e. the translation configuration“STANDARD.CTS” did not function. This error has been eliminated.

Note: Use of F2-translation function from a processing cell does not overwrite the inputfield with the translation like earlier. If e.g. the property P_name (e.g. in Object Editor,Object Inspector or in a CADISON table) is edited for activated STANDARD.CTS andF2-key is pressed, then a dialog appears by selecting the text to be translated. However, only the set main language is now always entered in P_name for text selection.

Wrong interpretation of vertical or horizontal paper format in PDFsIn CADISON Settings it is possible to decide whether drawing should be output as verticalor horizontal when converted to PDF format. These options were corrected to workproperly.

No copy of project when using "Create Projectrevision..."When selecting the command "Create Projectrevision" from menu "Workflow" in Engineer,no revision of the project was created.

Object selection in ObjectmanagerWhen selecting objects with arrow keys, the graphic variant is not marked correctly. Also, when multiple objects are selected (Ctrl+LMB), only standard-graphic is placed ondrawing. So the selection list for graphical variants is disabled in this case.

Objectmodel

Translation for attribute JOINTYPEFor relevant object classes, German translations for the property JOINTYPE (connectiontype) have been changed. Here, join types were interchanged::MP%Gew.Stutzen.:LN%Kegelst.

Minimum values for temperature specificationsFor relevant object classes, minimum values for temperature specifications have beenchanged from -273.16 to -273.15 in a previous release. For some object classes (areasMSR, common), this was neglected. For these object classes, the change has been carriedout.

Multiple allocation of a documentStarting from this version, it is possible to superordinate several object of an object classto a document. E.g. a type data sheet can be inserted in the project for different valves ofone type and this can be allocated to the data sheet of valves.

Connections "IN" and "OUT" at Cross-ReferencesThe internal properties CONNECTION_IN and CONNECTION_OUT are now correctlytranslated into english.

Designer

PID and 3D Designer

New Functions

CADISON Inventor InterfaceThis new interface enables to provide objects in Inventor with connection points, exportthem and import them as CADISON objects in the Designer. Please find more details on this in the onlinehelp.

Automatic configuration of unique sub-elements in SelectorIn case of configurable objects, it was previously always necessary in Matpipe and inSelector to configure all sub-objects even when the sub-objects are unique due to filters, which can be saved in case of link definition.Starting from this version, Selector / Matpipe checks automatically whether asub-element is already unique and then configures this unique sub-element.If the main object is configured, then all the actual mandatory links (optional links arenot taken into account) and their sub-objects are monitored. Once only one object isavailable under one link, and only one detail entry is available for this object due to theselection of the main object, this detail entry is automatically set to “configured”. In order to display optically that the sub-elements have been already configured, allsub-entries in the tree are automatically expanded.

Height dimensioning for measuring Z-values in layoutsIn tools menu, new command “Height dimensioning” is present in the area “Sections andviews”. With this command, so-called Z-dimensions can be created in a layout. A3D-coordinate can be selected in a view window and the Z-value is determined from thisselected coordinate and can be positioned as text with a leader in the layout.

(#26846)Insert object “Connecting element” manually in drawingIn previous versions, the object ITF-COUP could not be inserted manually in a drawing. Itwas created automatically by CADISON only in case of automatic pipe overlay /integration, if an element was integrated in a pipeline, which requires objects of the type“Connecting element”.Starting from this version, the object can also be inserted manually. In 2D-drawings, itcan be inserted using Object Manager and in 3D-drawings using Matpipe Selector.

Creation of PDF-files with .pc3-fileWhile creating PDFs from CADISON, it is necessary to configure a printer in CADISON.INI.If a PDF is created of a drawing, CADISON checks starting in this version, if there is acorresponding plot-configuration in AutoCAD (extension ".pc3"). It will be used, if itexists. That makes it possible to use special plot settings for PDF creation as for exampleto have text in the drawing to be treated as "text" in the PDF.

Incorrect graphic after allocation of another catalog entry in case of pipelineelementsIt may happen in case of some elements, which are already placed in 3D-drawings andwhich possess catalog entries, that the graphic is not displayed correctly any more afterthe allocation of another catalog entry. In such cases, the graphical element has to bedeleted from the drawing and re-inserted using Synchronize drawing in the previousversions. The reason for this is that the catalog entry defines which type of element has to becreated in the AutoCAD drawing. If an element was created in the drawing at thebeginning, then type of the element cannot be changed anymore. Most of the catalog entries for pipeline elements such as pipes, elbows, tees arerepresented as specially programmed custom entities (e.g. VC3D_SEG4_CIRC for pipesand VC3D_TJUNCTION_CIRC for tees). If such an element is inserted in a drawing, thena corresponding AutoCAD element is obtained (such as VC3D_SEG4_CIRC).However, there are single special catalog entries for pipeline elements, for which aparametric graphic is defined in Matpipe. These catalog entries are displayed in AutoCADas elements of the type VC3D_VARIANTENTITY. If a new element type is required due toa new catalog entry, then it cannot be transferred to Designer so that the “old” elementshows an incorrect graphic. Starting from this version, the specially programmed pipeline elements (such asVC3D_TJUNCTION_CIRC) are replaced for example at the time of a change of the catalogentry in elements by the type VC3D_VARIANTENTITY.Note: The replacement of VC3D_VARIANTENTITY elements by specially programmedpipeline elements does not function as before. Thus the graphic has to be deleted forthese objects and the objects have to be placed again using Synchronize drawing.

Thickness of the vessel in Vessel Assistant In the previous versions, the input “wall thickness” in the Vessel Assistant is not takeninto consideration either at the time of selection of top and bottom with Selector or at thetime of creation of vessel jacket. In the current version, the wall thickness is used as afilter criterion, in order to find corresponding parts in the catalog with other parameters(e.g. diameter), if the input is greater than 0mm. If the Selector does not find anycorresponding parts, then the user has to browse manually and then eventually adjustthe input of the wall thickness in the dialog. The vessel jacket is now created with the thickness entered instead of the default valueof 2mm as in the past versions. Attention: Wall thickness is only transferred as data inthe database object. The graphic remains created as before with 0mm thickness.

(#26917)Height of the jacket as user input in the Vessel Assistant Parameter “Height H” in the Vessel Assistant corresponds with the height of the jacket ofboth the bottoms. In the current version, it is now possible to enter a fixed value H2 onlyfor the jacket. Input field for H2 is activated only when the top and the bottom arealready selected. If a value is entered in one of the two fields (H or H2) then the value inthe other field automatically gets adjusted. This additional input option is extended forvertical as well as horizontal vessels.

(#26916)Length specification LC in the Nozzle Assistant In the Nozzle Assistant, length of the nozzle can be specified in the field LC. Sketch in thedialog for nozzles / manholes on the vessel bodies (cylinders) allows to assume that thespecified length LC is thereby a projected length. Previously, LC was neither used asactual length nor as projected length. This projected length corresponds to the actual length of the nozzle at an angle WA=90degrees. However, as soon as another angle is specified such as 45 degrees, the pipe ofthe nozzle has to become longer, in order to correspond to the projected length.Since the value for LC was always used as actual length in the previous versions, the user

24

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

had to calculate the actual length in case of an angle other than 90 degrees for WA. If thenozzle is too short and thus, does not outreach the vessel body (cylinder), an errornotification is displayed in AutoCAD command line and the values are not transferred forthe nozzle. Starting from this version, the specified value for LC is always considered as projectedvalue and is automatically converted into the actual length correspondingly. With this, itis ensured that the specified value for LC can be correctly converted.

(#24871)Sectional planes for function “Representation with centerlines”If the front and / or rear sectional plane is active in a view port in a layout and thefunction “Representation with centerlines” is used for this view port, then the centerlinescreated were not intersected at the sectional plane in the previous versions.3D-pipeline elements are displayed by AutoCAD according to the sectional plane. Thissectional plane is not taken into account at the time of creation of the centerlines in thelayout by CADISON. Starting from this version, preset front and rear sectional planes aretaken into account so that the centerlines created are correctly displayed.

Pipe class selection list of the Nozzle Assistant The same pipe class in R10.1 is listed only once in the Nozzle Assistant.

(#26812)Adjustment of sub-elements according to Matpipe assembly ruleIf a configurable object is defined in Matpipe, an assembly rule can be created, whichdefines how the sub-elements should be graphically linked with the main element.Thereby, both the position as well as a rotation is specified. In the previous versions, therotation was used only at the time of first placement of the graphic in the drawing. Then,it was possible to rotate the connected objects manually and thus, to change thealignment deviant from the assembly rule. Starting from this version, the assembly rule has a higher priority and can reset therotations that are done manually as soon as the object is updated.Thereby, it is possible in case of valves with connected drives to change the rotation ofthe connected drive later using the valve property ROT_DRIVE.Rotations that are done manually are however lost as soon as CADISON updates theobjects.

Drag and Drop of pipe routesIf a pipe route is drawn in a new drawing by simply dragging it from another drawing anddropping it into the new drawing, a second graphic is created for the exisiting pipe route.so, this new route is not a new object, only an additional graphic. This drag and dropdoes not work, if the two drawings are of a different type (e.g. ET nd PID). From this version on, CADISON will show the dialog for continue pipeline. The samehappens when 3d-centerlines (pipeline and pipeduct) are placed by drag n drop.

Error message "No catalog defined" in CCG protocolWhen a new vessel was created using the tank assistant, AutoCAD showed the message"No catalog defined!" in the commandline. Reason for this message is, that singleelements like tank-body and head, are connected graphically. CADISON checks at allconnected objects, if it is necessary to create welds etc. For this check, a pipeclass isrequired. But these objects have no pipeclass, so the error message is displayed. From this version on, the message is not displayed for objects which have either asuperior object of type nozzle or tank.

Bugfixes

(#27131)Display of “incorrect” graphics for 3D-elements in the general layoutsIn some drawings, it has occurred that individual 3D-elements were displayed with anincorrect graphic, if a new catalog entry was assigned to the elements. Special pipelineelements such as tees and elbows were thereof concerned, for which an insulationthickness was specified and for which smaller nominal sizes were assigned using “Assigncatalog”. Due to smaller nominal sizes and the specified insulation thickness, CADISONcould not implement new parameters and thus, rejected the approval of new graphicparameters. Since the old catalog entry was already removed by means of “Assigncatalog entry”, the pipeline element was then displayed with the default parameters.Starting from this version, it is checked whether the parameters have been transferred atthe time of assignment of new graphic parameters to 3D-element in the drawing. If not, then it is checked whether the graphical element currently possesses an insulationthickness. If yes, then it is set to 0 and it is again attempted to assign new graphicparameters. If this also does not function, then the object is displayed again as beforewith its default parameters (since even here, the old catalog entry has been removed). If this procedure however functions, then the 3D-element is displayed correctly. Theinsulation thickness is present in the database like before, as it was defined by the user. However, the graphical element in the drawing has the insulation thickness 0. Ifinsulation bodies are to be displayed in 3D-designer, then these elements obviously donot display any insulation bodies.

(#26814/26485/24049)Export MPL's with DWG neutral export DWG neutral export converts even MPL's into native AutoCAD elements so that the usercan see the exported Dwgs without CADISON.

(#27269)AutoCAD hangs in case of commands “DWG neutral export” and “Create PDF” In AutoCAD, different dockable windows such as layer window can be displayed. Whenstarting AutoCAD next, the windows are opened automatically by AutoCAD.If AutoCAD is started from CADISON in for commands “DWG neutral export” and “CreatePDF”, then this window makes sure that CADISON can no more terminate AutoCADcorrectly. As a result, AutoCAD window freezes after the neutral DWG file or PDF file hasbeen created. Starting from this version, AutoCAD can be correctly terminated aftercompletion of the process.

(#27247)Missing translation in the window title of pipeline connection from to Dialog title for “Edit pipeline connection” is not translated in another language.

(#24601)Layer is switched off in case of “Representation with centerline” When using the command “Representation with centerline”, some layers, which are usedfor the representation of centerlines are temporarily, switched off. If one of these layersis set as the current layer, a query appeared in the previous versions on the AutoCADcommand line whether the active layer is to be really switched off. This could lead to thetermination of the function. Starting from this version, layer “0” is thus automatically set as the active layer whenstarting the function. At the end of the function, the previously active layer is reset. Iflayer “0” was switched off beforehand, then it is thereby again switched on.

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

Undesired centerlines in case of “Representation with centerlines” In the previous versions, the function “Representation with centerlines” createdcenterlines from all individual pipeline components and also ventilation components.Thereby, it was not checked whether the corresponding geometry belongs to a pipeline orair duct. Since the individual components are also used for other objects (e.g. the vessel assistantcreates a vessel body from a pipe and a cap and nozzle assistant creates a nozzle bymeans of a pipe), centerlines appear even for these objects. Since the centerlines are undesired, the function checks whether the objects even belongto the pipelines or air ducts starting from this version. If an object does not belong tosuch a pipe or duct, then it does not create any centerlines.

Termination of the function “Representation with Centerlines” If the option “Centerlines” is used in case of the function “Representation withcenterlines”, then it could happen in the previous versions that the function was notexecuted completely. Thereby, it could happen that either all the generated centerlineswere not terminated correctly at the edge of the view port or that the centerlines werenot created for all the selected view ports in case of selection of several view ports. Insome cases, the centerline representation of the other window is also thereby deletedwhen using this function again. This error has been eliminated.

Open drawing using Windows 7 Start menu (so-called jump-list) If a drawing is opened without CADISON connection using Windows 7 jump-list (selectStart->Designer->Recently used->Drawing in the list), then the user is required to loginand to select the project and the drawing for opening. Drawing from the jump-list andthe drawing selected by the user are opened. CADISON copy dialog will then appear andthereby, lead to the possible data corruption. The problem is eliminated in R10.1.

(#26453)The Nozzle Assistant does not identify the pipe class of the nozzle to be edited The pipe class of the nozzle to be edited is not identified by the Nozzle Assistant and theselection list in the dialog is not set the pipe class, in which the nozzle has been created, but always to the first entry in the list. The pipe class used is identified in R10.1, if pipeand flange created with the same pipe class or nozzle without flange is selected, otherwise no entry in the list is selected.

(#22165)Error notification missing in case of “Edit nozzle” When setting the nozzle, a warning is shown if necessary, if the specific parameter valuesfall short (e.g. “minimum length of 100.0 for stub-end fallen short). If however thechanges are carried out using “Edit nozzle”, then no corresponding notification follows.Defective entries are simply ignored here. In R10.1, corresponding notification isdisplayed at the time of editing the nozzle similar to when making a new placement.

(#27129)Nozzle assistant creates nozzles with incorrect length If a nozzle is created on a vessel cover with parameters R>0 andW!=0/W!=180, then the result is a nozzle with too long pipe. This error is now eliminatedin R10.1

Drawing frame changedIt is noticed that the inner drawing frames are not closed correctly and the insertionpoints for the title block are not positioned correctly.

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

These errors have been eliminated.Furthermore, the drawing frame PHI-A3HOOK has been expanded so that the labeling isnow included in both German and English.

(#26853)Connections are not rotated in case of AUIf CADISON Explorer is used in Designer for placement of geometries and thereby, theoption “AU” is used for automatic alignment of objects, then it could happen in theprevious versions that the graphic to be placed was mirrored. This error is eliminated inthis version. The solution in this case is that the target connection point and the connection point tobe placed define a coordinate system. If however one of these points defines ananticlockwise coordinate system and the other point defines a clockwise coordinatesystem, then the geometry was mirrored in the previous versions. Starting from thisversion, the coordinate systems have another rotational direction. If yes, then the(incomplete sentence)

Placement of an alternative graphic of an object with Object ManagerInsertion of graphic of an object in a drawing is implemented with Object Manager asfollows:- By double-clicking on the symbol, an object can be inserted with thereby selectedgraphic variant. Multiple selections of the objects are ignored. - By means of Insert button, several objects can be inserted sequentially with pre-defineddefault graphic variant. Selected graphic variant is ignored.- By means of Insert button, an object with selected graphic variant can be inserted onlyif an object is selected.

(#25906)Pipe route changes according to movement of the geometriesIf several objects are modified in AutoCAD with commands MOVE, ROTATE or the gripedit commands, then it could occur in the previous versions that the pipe routes were notcorrectly changed after closing the command. As a result, pipe routes could be brokenand the connections between pipe routes and previously connected objects could get lost. These errors have been eliminated so that the pipe routes are correctly updated after theuse of the above-mentioned AutoCAD edit commands.

(#27211)Duct arcs rectangular is not transferred to ACISIf a “duct arc” does not have any radius (0.0mm), then the graphic would not beconverted into ACIS body.

Opening visibility control from dockable TreeIn dockable Tree and in Synchronize Drawing dialog, it is possible to show a detailed viewof the object's graphic. Each graphic has a menu where the function "Set visibility" canbe opened. Beginning in R10 this dialog was remodeled. Now it appears here also.

Nozzle Assistant creates nozzle with wrong pipeclassWhile starting the nozzle assistant, a nozzle is created by using the first availablepipeclass in the list as default. If another class is selected and the dialog is closed withOk, without that a pipe was selected, then the nozzle is created using the first pipe classin the list instead of the selected one.

Automatically calculated value of diameter in Tank Assistant

28

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R10.1 Release Notes

The value for diameter (calculated from volume and height) in the Tank Assistant issometimes wrong showing "-1.#J".

Error message "Unknown Graphic" while using Synchronize drawingIf a new drawing is created by pressing Ctrl+N, then this drawing is not beeing initializedcorrectly. Objects from EMSR could not be inserted anymore.

Display of invisible objectsObject can be rendered invisible for certain users. These objects (drawings) appeardnonetheless if the dialog for opening drawings was diaplayed using Ctrl+O. The sameapplies for documents in the ISOGEN dialog.

Minimal length in Nozzle AssistantIf a nozzle is placed at a cylindrical tank body, it's minimal length is calculatedautomatically. CADISON corrects the length, if an invalid value was entered. Sometimes, this calculated minimal length was wrong and the nozzle was placed inside the body.

Exchange graphical variant at different object typesIf the function for exchanging the graphic of symbols is started and the user selectsobjects ob different types (e.g. valve and pump), an error message appears. Thecommand was not stopped, though.

(#27475)Connections of pipe routes after creating a pipe crossingIf pipelines were cut using pipe crossings, these could normally be reconnected. CADISONwould unite the two pipe routes. This was not working correctly in R10 and is now fixed.

Creation of EXTERNAL_x connection pointsIf connections like EXTERNAL_<number> where created during a Designer session, thenumber had a reference to the total amount of connections available at the selectedobject. If a connection point was deleted in the meantime, this number was not correctanymore. From now on all EXTERNAL connections have unique names.

Converting of flat end-capsIn 3D-Designer it is possible to create flat end-caps with a height of 0. ACIS convertercould not convert this type of object into 3D-models (AcDb3dSolid). From this version on,ACIS converter can convert flat end-caps (Entity-Typ Vc3dCapCirc) into flat regions(AcDbRegion).

Button "OK" and "Cancel" not translatedThe dialog for object designation contains another dialog for creating customdesignations. In this dialog, both buttons were not translated into English and Russian.

Error message while invalid object selection at "Fit dimstyle to scale" and "ZoomVP to meet scale"When these commands are started, the user has to select a viewport. If nothing wasseleceted, an error message appeared in command line ("bad argument type: lselsetpnil"). From this version on, the user will be asked again to select a valid viewport and noerror message will be displayed. The function can be aborted by using Esc key.

Highlight objectsa from non-modal table dialogObject are now highlighted as dashed lines, not blinking.

Diverse errors in Tank AssistantDescription texts for bodies, caps, supports etc. in Selector are sometimes displayedwrong as "999999999".

Setting steps in CADISON ExplorerThe dialog of CADISON Explorer contains the tab "Options". Here, a step width can beselected. From now on translated description texts are displayed.

PDF-creation of invisible documentsPDF exporter would convert all documents below project level, regardless if they werevisible to the user or not.

ACIS Converter: wrong geometry when converting nozzle at tank bottomA nozzle which was placed on a tank bottom or head would be incorrectly converted bythe ACIS converter. It could happen, that the geometry was positioned on a wrongcoordinate in the model.

Editing nozzle with stub-endIn nozzle assistant it is possible to create flanges and stub-ends as end-object of thenozzle. The function "Edit nozzle" would only check for flanges. Now it also checks forstub-ends and screws.

PID Designer for Visio

New Functions

Visio to DWG conversionWith this release, a new module is available with Visio2DWG converter in a first version. With this, Visio drawings, especially drawings from Visio PID-Designer, can be convertedinto DWG format. This module is integrated in Visio PID-Designer in the menu “Project & DocumentManager” and required a separate license. In addition to this, an AutoCAD license isrequired for the executing computer. The existing restrictions (objects types that are nottransferred, formatting, etc.) can be learnt from the documentation.

Bugfixes

(#26947)Frozen layer is not printed If a layer in CADISON layer management is frozen or if it is made invisible usingCADISON command "Designer Checker-> Hide objects", then this layer is alsoautomatically set to "do not print". On the other hand, a layer is again set to "print", if itis set to visible using above-mentioned CADISON functions.

(#26933)Selection list not available in case of continue pipeline If no pipelines are included yet for the first medium in the database, then the selectionlist "Available pipelines" is always grayed out when using "Continue pipeline". As soon asa pipeline is available fort he first medium in the database, the selection list is available. This problem is now eliminated.

Sub Shapes in a multi-Shape are not set to same layer as the main shape Sub Shapes, which consisted in a main Shape will be set to same layer as there master.

Defect object inspector Object inspector opened in a drawing does not react anymore, if another drawing isopened and again closed. Error has been eliminated in R10.1

Error when copying from Designer with pipeline If a pipeline with its user labeling is copied in Visio-PID Designer, then the copied userlabeling is not allocated to the correct pipeline and has incorrect database link. Whendeleting the copied user labeling, the original user labeling is also deleted. This error hasbeen eliminated in Release 10.1.

(#27017) Edit Pipeline connection in Visio-PID If any Input is missing in dialog "Edit Pipeline Connection", function fails with an errormessage. All input fields should be filled before OK-button is activated.

Design Checker "Display Cadison objects"If command "Hide Cadison objects" is used twice, then the objects cannot be displayedagain using the command "Display Cadison objects". Error is eliminated in R10.1.

(#27202)Error when moving/rotating a construction set CADISON construction set - Shapes does not react as before when moving/rotating forthe first time after placing it.

Error when terminating the copy procedure of the pipeline with user labeling Ifthe copy procedure of a pipeline in the PID-Designer for Visio is terminated (close copydialog with cancel) with the user labeling, then the graphic of the copied user labeling isleft behind and refers to a wrong database object.

Addition of a line in the section "User-defined cells" of a shape Different CADISON dialogs (edit object, attach catalog, etc.) are displayed, if a line isadded to the shape-sheet section "User-defined cells" for the first time. This error hasbeen eliminated in R10.1.

(#26714)Error when adding two straight pipeline sections If pipeline paths composed of the straight pipeline sections are drawn, then the propertyof the composite pipeline paths remains "straight connector". If a connected object is nowmoved into the pipeline, then the pipeline may not precede perpendicular, but it isdiverted. In R10.1, the composite pipeline path is automatically defined as rectangular connector.

(#27108)Highlight object in a drawing opened from the other Vision session Subsequent severe errors are caused in the active Visio-PID session by highlighting anobject in the PID drawing opened from another Visio-PID session from Visio PID Designer. In the current version, an error notification appears in this situation and highlightingaction stops.

(#25846) Opening write-protected Visio-PID's In the following procedure, data may be lost when working with PID Designer for Visio - Open "normal" PID for editing - Open another write-protected PID in the Visio session Error 1: CADISON components can be deposited in the write-protected PID; these arethen also applied in the database. However, these components cannot be saved in thedrawing. (Objects with missing graphic).Error 2: In the "normal" PID, CADSION is in the "write-protected mode", i.e.: -Objects (new or old) can be indeed edited. However, the values per se cannot bechanged. -If the drawing is closed with "X", -> "Save changes" -> "no", then the changes are alsonot saved automatically and the data is lost (graphic without database entry)Error is eliminated in the current release.

(#27262)Highlighting cannot be removedIn case of highlighting of objects in Visio, it is automatically terminated only after changeof colours for 10 times. If too many objects are selected for highlighting such as a

complete logical plant, then it takes a long time to even get the option terminate thisprocess. In R10.1, highlighting is removed, if one of the following keys is pressed. Esc-key, Spacebar, left mouse button, right mouse button.

(#27272)Opening an already opened PID drawing leads to an error when editing furtherIf an already opened PID drawing is opened again using the menu “Project and DocumentManagement”, then the program acts incorrectly when editing this drawing further. E.g.edit dialog appears multiple times for command “Edit object...”.

(#25996)Size of the drawing frame is not saved after the placement of the frame in thedrawing propertiesWhen creating / changing the drawing frame in Visio-PID, frames with different sizes canbe selected. The format size is not saved according to the placement of the frame in thedrawing properties and “A0” is always present in the title block as drawing format.

Layers while placing shape with sub-shapes in pipelineWhile placing a shape with sub-shapes in a pipeline, layers of this pipeline will beassigned to the main-shape. But sub-shapes keep their previous layers. So they have amultilayer assignment. When using the Design Checker, this leeds to only the main shapeis beeing rendered invisible, but sub-shapes remain visible.

List of available configurations in table config dialogThe combo-box was too small to fully display all configurations.

PDM dialog shows after closing the Editor window for Master shapeThis happens, when the setting "hide extensions at known file types" in Windows Exploreris active.

Copying object-designationsWhen selecting and copying shapes and their designations, only the shapes were pasted, but not the designations. Now the designations are also pasted.

New Functions

New catalog ITF_SUPPORTThis new catalog bases on the catalog VCS_SUPPORT and was created because of thenew connection point of type "Logical Connection". With this new type of connection pointsupports will now be assigned automatically to the pipeline when positioned accordingly. The support will also appear on the isometric drawing lateron.

Changed Functions

(#26662)Display of parametric error in Parapipe If a calculation error occurs due to a defective formula in the parametric module ofMatpipe (Parapipe), the error notification was displayed in the previous versions in adialog. For every mouse click on an entry in the parametric tree, an error notification isdisplayed again in a dialog and that until the error has not been eliminated. However, this disturbs the work flow enormously. For this reason, this error is no more displayed in a dialog starting from this version, butin a new output line on the upper window edge of Parapipe. As soon as an error isidentified in a formula, the error text is displayed in red colour in this output line withbold font. When the error is corrected, the output line is cleared.

(#26356 / #26440)Link not configuredIt is possible in MATPIPE that a configurable main object possesses one or moreproperties of the type "CALCULATE" and the properties are related to the properties of theunder-linked object. E.g. the nominal size of the under-link is transferred to the mainobject. In the non-configured state, the following text is present in the properties field:<Link not configured>After the object is configured, the text <Link not configured> should be replaced by theconfigured value. This happened so far only for the properties of the main table and theproperties of the details table were thus ignored. In the current version, all its properties of an object are taken into account at the time ofconfiguration and displayed both in main as well as details after the configuration of anobject.

(#27030)Object search in MATPIPE and SelectorObject search in MATPIPE and Selector was changed in the following aspects:

1. Design for GUI.2. It is now possible to search through several object classes for properties. E.g. search for

objects with material "1.4503" and nominal width "DN32". 3. The number of properties for the search is not limited anymore. 4. Search for configuration name and description now possible. 5. Search routine can be saved to a file.
