“Making Up” “Making up” is a phrase used among Catholic people who sup-port their church by using the parish envelope system. When someone misses Mass they place their usual offering in their envelope and set it aside. The next time they attend Mass, they deposit two or more envelopes into the collection. “Making up” is really not a burden or additional sacrifice; it is simply a new habit. By adopting this method of weekly support, you provide the parish with a stable and reliable income.

Stewardship Reflection ~ Stewardship Heirloom “The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are

children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…” (Romans 8:16-17)

If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, shouldn’t we work to build up His kingdom? Shouldn’t we be good Stewards of our inheritance, using our time in prayer, our talent in charitable works and our treas-ure to care for the Church that God has left to us? Our Church is a treasured heirloom from God. Do we treat it that way?

Together in Prayer A prayer group for the LGBT community, their friends, families and loved ones will gather at 6:30 p.m. at the Parish Center of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Turnersville on the LAST Sunday of each month. All are welcome to join us for prayer. For more infor-mation, please call Christine at 207-240-5254.

Pastor’s Reflection Ordinary Time. The Most Blessed Trinity

I hated when he came to my grandmother's house. He was blind and could not talk; old and unkempt and he was not appreciative. My grandmother would help him to understand his mail and his bills. She did this by holding his sweaty hands and using touch and a lot of loud talking. She got frustrated and angry. He got frustrated and angry. They yelled at each other as their hands wrestled and fought. She would look at me as if for strength. Me!? But she persisted until the work was done and understanding dawned. Then, horror of horrors, she dragged me into this......mess. I do not remember his name but I was deputized to walk him safely home. Imagine my horror! Who might see me with him! I had to hold his arm or his hand or he held mine. We walked from Maryland to Indi-ana Avenue in Atlantic City. He made loud noises and often went in the wrong direction, and I had to fight to get him on track. I walked him up the stairs and saw him to the door of his apartment. I hated it. I thought my grandma hated it too, so I could not understand why she continued to do it. She insisted that I respect him, even in our frustration, and I knew she was working to get me to take over this.......mission. I guess she succeeded. Tomorrow I celebrate thirty years a priest. Fr. Gerard
