PENITENTIAL RITE Today, March 13, 2016, we celebrate yet another Rite as we move toward the Easter Vigil. This Peniten al Rite is intended solely for celebra on with the bap zed candidates, Liz Phelan and Kurt Wiese, who are preparing for Confirma on and Eucharist. It is cele-brated during the RCIA Period of Purifica on and Enlightenment, which coincides with Lent. It is a period of more intense spiritual prepara on, consis ng more in interior reflec on than in instruc-

on. This period is intended to purify their minds and hearts as they search their consciences and do penance, as well as deepen their rela onship with Christ. Our responsibility as the church community is to surround them with prayer. We ask that you con nue to pray that these candi-dates will have a spirit of repentance, and will encounter Christ in the sacraments at the Easter Vigil.

Peace, Donna Beam, RCIA Director
