READINGS FOR JUNE 3THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST Reading I – Exodus 24:3-8 Reading II – Hebrews 9:11-15 Gospel – Mark 14:12-16, 22-26

LIFE FOCUS QUESTIONS• How can we be “Eucharist” to another? How can we bring the Eucharist from

our church into the world?• How do our own family rituals at dinner time and around the family table reflecttheEucharist?

• What ministries and projects of our parish are especially inspired by or connected to our celebration of the Eucharist?

• The word Eucharist means “thanksgiving.” How can our sharing of the Body and Blood of the Lord be an act of thanksgiving, even when we gather under the most painful of circumstances?

PASTOR’S CORNER

This weekend, we celebrate the gift of memory as it comes to the forefront in a couple of ways. First, as we celebrate Trinity Sunday, we concentrate on the memory experience of the early Christian/Church Community. In the aftermath from various moments of thePaschalMystery, theCommunityreflectedonhowitwasthattheyexperiencedGod’srevelationstothem.Theybecameawarethat their experience was God as Father, as Son and as Holy Spirit. Indeed, we ourselves experience God even in the present in the sameways.Wealsorememberandhonorthosewhosacrificedtheirlivesintheserviceofourcountrysothatwemaycontinuetoexperience the blessings that we have as a nation and so that people of other nations might be freed from tyranny. May they never be forgotten! Mass on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, will be at 9:00 a.m.

Also at this time of year, we remember those who have or will be celebrating Graduations, whether it is from graduate school, undergraduate school, high school, middle/elementary school or kindergarten. We pray that God will continue to bless each of them as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

OnSaturday,May26,2018,BishopCampbellordainedfivenewpriestsforourdiocese.IncludedamongthemwereFatherChrisTuttle and Father Thomas Herge, who both served summer internships a few years ago here at Saint Cecilia. The others are Father Brett Garland, Father Todd Lehigh and Father Edward Shikina. We pray for their intentions as they begin their priestly ministry!

Please note that the 9:30 a.m. Wednesday Masses have ended for this school year and will resume in August or September. Also, as previously announced, Noon Mass will continue throughout the summer months.
