Please consider underwriting this work with a gift this year. You’ll provide comfort, education, mentoring , and most importantly, hope for those who face difficult times.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK Our Gift From Mom. Many people have spent the last few days selecting just the right gift for mom. A well-worded card, a piece of jewelry or clothing or even a gift card to her favorite store. (Hopefully, it wasn’t a household appliance.) We honor moms on this day because we appreciate all they have done for us. There were the meals, the loads of laundry, room cleaning, chauffeuring, homework help, coaching and mentoring, and even the discipline and ‘advice’. We often forget the greatest thing we got from her: our faith! In today’s gospel, Jesus blesses those who will share their belief in Him with future generations. Do you know anyone who has tried harder than
mom? Didn’t she teach you your prayers, remind you to start and end your day in prayer, get you ready for First Communion, drag you out of bed for Sunday Mass, cart you to church for religion classes and youth group, convince you that you wanted to be confirmed and even help you plan your Church wedding? Then she bugged you until you had your own little ones baptized and now she insists that you go to church with her when you visit. If we had tried as hard to receive the faith as our moms did to share it, we would be the greatest gift our moms ever gave God! That’s what I call a hap-py Mother’s Day!

Council #12147 will meet Tuesday night at 7:00PM Franklin.
The Food Pantry needs your help. We are critical-ly low of many staples such as: cereal, soups, canned pasta, mac & cheese, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit and vegetables, and condiments, such
as ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, and sugar. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Jesus told us every time we do something for the least of our brothers, we do it for Him.
This Saturday, May 14 This collection helps restock
the shelves of the local Food Banks, including Bread & Roses Kitchen and St. Gabriel’s Food Closet. Canned goods, cereal, pasta and dry food items can be left by your mailbox for collection. Your donations will be greatly appreciated.
CHURCH ROOF DRIVE Here’s a final tally on our drive to replace the roof:
Donations received prior to the Drive : $31,000 ‘Here’s My Square” Donations: $23,140 Total Received: $54,140
Contract Price for New Roof: $55,090 We’re only $950 short of paying for the whole thing! And we can afford that! Of course, this does not in-clude the $6,950 we had to spend to repair the chim-ney. But, we can pay that with the “Property Mainte-nance Collection”. Thank you so much for your out-standing generosity. It is so awesome to see the par-ish come together like this. May God repay you a hundredfold!
