Mission Statement
St. Patrick Catholic Church is a faith-filled community that is forever growing in a rela-tionship with Christ. We celebrate the pres-ence of Christ in Word and Sacrament, demonstrate love and concern for all parish-ioners, teach by example, and strive to serve the needs of all in the community.
The Youth Development Committee has rescheduled movie night for Saturday, June 11th from 3:30-6:00 PM at The Charleston Catholic School located at 888 King Street. The m ovies- “The Great Debaters” for teen-agers-based on the true story of a poet and professor Mel-vin Tolson, played by Denzel Washington. Tolson teaches at a predominately black Wiley College in 1935 and decides to form a debate team of intelligent students. Tolson taught students to find their strength through words and they be-come the first black debate team to challenge the Harvard debate champions. Veggie Tales for the younger children- “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything” -Larry the cucumber, Mr. Lunt and Pa Grape find themselves on the ride of their lives when they are mysteriously whisked back to the to time when they are mysteriously whisked back to the time when pi-rates ruled the big seas. As they help a brave princess res-cue her brother from a pirate villain, they battle evil cheese curls, giant rock monster and their own fears to become the most unlikely heroes. A RSVP sign-up sheet is placed in the back of the church so that we are able to determine amount of refreshments to purchase.
FED BY THE LORD
Jesus’ words “This is my body” and “This cup is the new covenant in my blood” were only part of his table blessing. Jesus twice said: “Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corin-thians 11:24, 25).
This is the good news of today’s solemnity. Like the five thousand hungry souls, we are fed by our Lord. This is not food that satisfies for only a short time, until the next meal. It is food that lasts and changes us. It is food for sharing in much the same way as Melchize-dek did when he brought bread and wine to the returning Abraham.
As children of God’s reign, we are blessed to be able to receive and share God’s gift. And we do so in the way most appropriate to our state in life—as parents, children, husbands, wives, or religious.
Regular attendance at Mass on Sundays and Ho-ly Days of Obligation. Absent only for serious reason, e.g. illness.
Registered in the Parish, receiving and using weekly envelopes, supporting the Parish accord-ing to the best of one’s ability.
Volunteers and participates in Parish activities with time, talent, and resources as means per-mit.
Trying to live the Catholic Faith as best they can with God’s help and the support of family and friends at home and in the Parish.
PARISH REGISTRATION
Welcome to all new families/individuals. Please register as soon as possible. Registration in house is needed for planning purposes. Regis-tration is required before the parish can issue a sponsorship certificate for those asked to be sacramental sponsors.
You must be registered and a contributing member for at least 3 months before a certifi-cate will be given. Registration Forms are avail-able in the Parish Office 723-6066.
MARRIAGES
The couple must contact in person the pastor at least one year prior to the desired date of the wed-ding.
Please contact the office to initiate the marriage preparation process or if you have questions. Bap-tism and Confirmation certificates are needed.

day, June 1, 2016. Awards ceremony will begin at 5:15pm in Sacred Heart
Church and Graduation will begin at 6pm in Sacred Heart Church.
