Saint Vincent de Paul: Today is Palm Sunday and the beginning of the holiest of Christian weeks. Let us pray for the grace to take up our own cross and to follow Jesus through death to new life. Please support the Society of St. Vincent de Pal so that together we can help the poor as they carry their cross of suffering and pain. To make a donation to St. Vincent de Paul, send it c/o Sacred Heart Parish 18 East Main St. Webster, MA 01570

Stewardship Note: The Lord calls us to love God and to love our neighbor. Every day we are presented with opportuni-ties to love our neighbor and help him “carry his cross.” These opportunities aren’t usually big events, they are usually ordinary occurrences like helping someone carry their groceries or hold-ing the door open for them. The key is putting the other per-son’s needs before our own and not expecting anything in return.

Is there a greater drama in history? Jesus confronts all the powers of evil to destroy, once and for all, the source of bondage, suffering, and death. He suffers betrayal and humiliation, abandonment and failure, pain and sorrow. He is left alone to fight the good fight, to bring the light of grace to battle the darkness of sin.

Death is the end, a nothingness that cannot be known, a darkness that destroys the possibility of hope, change and renewal. It is here that the battle is fought. Death must be destroyed. The darkness must be known and its power must be ended so that life can be possible. We are powerless, but Jesus is not. He gives His life for ours,

His glory for our sinfulness, His perfection for our imperfection. He chooses us and in Him, we will find strength, glory, truth and light. Now is the time of decision. The sides are being chosen and we pick our place. The way of life is not easy and we too must join the fight. Self-denial, discipline, and the practice of virtue connect us to the person and the struggle of Jesus Christ. Join now the fight for life, your life. With Him, victory is assured.

Marka perfidny zdrajca mówi do Jezusa: „Rabbi”.

Amen
