School News

We are grateful for the generous, caring members of

our Church community who contributed to the Ash

Wednesday collection. Our Conference received

the entire collection of $2973 which will be used to

help those in need. Thank you for continuing to live

the Works of Mercy not only with monetary contri-

butions but also the overwhelming response to our

Lenten Food Drive! We will keep all of you in our

prayers of Thanksgiving.

Also, we wish to thank the American Heritage

Troop 0316 for their donation of cheerful place mats

to be given with food from our pantry. The older

members of the Troop regularly move the donated

food from the Commons to the Pantry! These young

ladies are a blessing to our parish! Norrie Bastl, aid-

ed by Linda Cantwell, recently gave the Troop a tour

of the pantry and explained how it works.

Our friends at Ford Motor Company and Cavalier

Auto Group are allowing us to have a "Drive 4 UR

School" event. Please make plans to test drive two

cars on Tuesday, May 7th from 2:30pm-6:30pm at

St. Matthew’s Catholic School. The school will re-

ceive $20 plus a bonus from Ford Motor Compa-

ny. We made $7,220 in August. With your help, we

will hit our goal of $8,000 this time. This fundraiser

to benefit the students and the school doesn't cost

you a dime. We just need a little of your time. You

will not be contacted by Ford or Cavalier after the

event. Thank You!

Our condolences to Fr. Stephen on

the passing of his mother, Mary

Akosua Forda.

There will be a memorial mass on

Wednesday, May 15th at 7pm in

the church. Everyone is invited to

attend.

Congratulations to

Bert & Brigida Monzon as they

celebrate their 50th Wedding

Anniversary! May God continue to

bless you both!
