We invite you to become a member of the Knights of Columbus, and to join in our Council’s charitable, faith-based and social programs. The first principle of the Knights is “Charity”. Through our many activities we are able to materially and spiritually help others. “Tootsie Roll Drive” - We financially support people with intellectual disabilities through our annual

drive on Columbus Day weekend. “Coats for Kids” - We provide brand new winter coats to needy children. 100% of the money, raised

from the 50/50 raffle at the Parish Pasta Suppers, supports this program. “Project Rachel” - We financially support this archdiocesan, post-abortion counseling program. “RSVP” Program -We financially support a seminarian each year in his journey toward the priesthood.

Won’t you consider joining Our Lady’s Council? To learn more, speak with a Knight or pick-up information at the entrance to the church. Next week: “Building the Domestic Church”

October 2—Twenty-seventh Sunday

in Ordinary Time

October is Respect Life Month. It is the

month of Guardian Angels and the

Missions. Today’s readings speak of

violence (Habakkuk), courage (St. Paul)

and faith (Jesus). Whether we are

speaking out on behalf of the unborn or

sharing how God has worked in our life,

take to heart Paul’s words, “do not be

ashamed of your testimony to our Lord”

Think of the testimony of our October

saints: Francis, Teresa of Avila, Therese

of Lisieux, Faustin, and the North

American martyrs—just to name a few.

Share your story, your testimony.

DIVINE MERCY FAITH FORMATION

You are invited to participate in a visual

presentation on Divine Mercy. This “retreat” is

based on Father Michael Gaitley’s book, The

Second Greatest Story Ever Told. This life drama

presentation (in DVDs) combines 500 years of

history, scripture, prophecy, and the lives of the

saints to show us God’s merciful love. Only a

workbook is necessary to augment the DVD

viewing and discussions. There is no book reading.

The meetings begin Monday, October 17 (7 PM—

8:30 PM) at St. Mary’s in Waltham in the

Religious Education Building (30 Pond Street).

Please contact Marianne Merola at

[email protected] for any further

information and registration.
