BELOVED SAINT’S RELICS VISIT ST. PATRICK CHURCHMonday, June 11, 2018Veneration begins at 3pm, Holy Mass at 6:30 pm
The Franciscan Friars from Padua, Italy, invite you to join them in welcoming Saint Anthony of Padua to Hubbard Saint
Patrick Catholic Church. St. Anthony will be vising us in the form of “two precious and first
class” relics from the Ponfical Basilica in Padua, Italy. The relics will be accompanied by Fr.
Mario Conte, a Franciscan Friar from Padua, Italy, where the Saint is buried. According to Fr.
Conte “There is nothing supersous about relics. The real meaning of a relic is lovethey are a
link of love between the person who venerates and the saint.” St. Anthony intercedes with
those trying to find a job, housing, faith, love, hope, harmony within the family, good health,
peace of mind and mercy. Pope Benedict Emeritus said of relics “By inving us to venerate the
mortal remains of the martyrs and saints, the Church does not forget that, in the end, these are
indeed just human bones, but they are bones that belonged to individuals touched by the living
power of God. The relics of the saints are traces of that invisible but real presence which sheds light upon the
shadows of the world and reveals the Kingdom of Heaven in our midst.” Those who come to the veneraon and Mass
will have the opportunity to write a prayer of peon that will be placed by Fr. Conte at the tomb of Saint Anthony
when he returns to Italy where the Friars will gather to pray for the saint’s intercession upon our intenons.

The mission of this trip is to

needed. This mission is to
inspire all of us to live a life as disciples of Christ
through serving others as a way of life and to foster
the Catholic faith of each parcipant through the
sacraments, prayer and involvement in social service.
I would like to share just one tesmony from a young
15 year old girl named Kelsey who aLended camp
last year, “God was amazing this week. I didn’t think I
have seen God appear so many mes in my life,
ever! He was anywhere and everywhere and he
really, really opened my eyes!”
Our transportaon to and from Philadelphia is

there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there

them in everyone.” 1 Corinthians 12:46All of us are blessed, regardless of our own individual
circumstances; God has given each of us many gi6s. How we
use those gi6s is our gi6 back to God. For God’s plan to work,
each must do what we are called to do and guess whatwe
are not all called to do the same thing!
