LENTEN RULES OF FAST AND ABSTINENCE The bishops of the United States prescribe, as minimal obliga�on, that all persons over 15 years of age are grave-ly obliged to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Feb-ruary 14th, and all Fridays of Lent. All persons over 18 years of age and up to the beginning of their 60th year are gravely obliged to fast by limi�ng themselves to a single full meal on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. All the faithful are encouraged to a�end Mass and to re-ceive the Holy Eucharist daily, to do charitable works. All are encouraged to par�cipate in Opera�on Rice Bowl. You are asked to place your contribu�ons for Opera�on Rice Bowl in the poor boxes.

Bishop Edward Delimann EASTER MEMORIALS If you wish to remember your beloved deceased during the Easter season, you may do so by writing the name of the de-ceased on the envelope you have received in the mail and re-turn it to the Parish Center Offices by March 21st. A listing of the names will be published during the Easter season. A dona-tion of $10.00 is requested for each memorial. LENTEN CROSS In the sanctuary of the church is our Lenten Cross. We invite you once again to write your prayer intentions in our parish IN-TENTION BOOK. By doing this, we unite in praying for each other that the love of God will touch our hearts and lives. The St. Patrick’s community began a monthly Health Screening Pro-gram in 2018. The next screening is in the Parish Hall from noon to 3 PM on Sundays, check on our calendar for the next Health Screening dates. The faculty and students from St. Joseph’s University Institute for bioethics, the Sisters of Mercy Health Services and many others have been key players in helping our parish with this important outreach as we have expanded the services provided. Several of our own pa-rishioners have been trained as health promoters and do the screening with the help of others. We are continuing to expand the range of ser-vices to include referrals to clinics. The goals of this effort are to in-crease medical knowledge and care, to save lives and to enable better use of hospital resources. The focus is on the underserved populations near us, but we welcome all parishioners to come see what’s happening and see if there may be a role for you. Spring Campaign – 40 Days for Life – Feb. 14 – March 25, 2018 Once again 40 Days for Life is coming to Norristown between Feb. 14 and March 25. During that time, we ask our parishion-ers to be especially mindful of the need for prayers, fasting and peaceful witness on behalf of the hundreds of thousands pre-born babies who are aborted each year. This Spring, we have set aside 2 hours of prayerful, peaceful witness on Saturday, March 17 between 10 am and Noon for St. Pat’s parishioners, in front of Planned Parenthood, Wood & Powell Sts., Norris-town. Please come to pray the rosary during that time when other pro-life citizens will also gather. Last year, Planned Parenthood convinced women it was ok to kill more than 300,000 pre-born innocent babies. How much longer can this be allowed?
