The Parish Youth Group (Grades 9-12) will meet this Sun-

day, Mar 15, from 6-8 pm in St. Agnes School. Plan to bring

a friend, learn something, share something, get involved,

PASS the SALT: a 7-12th grade Youth Rally A Youth Rally will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at

St. Ann’s in Williamsport for Young People Grades 7-12.

The program is being organized by local youth ministries

and will be a day to meet new friends who share the Catholic

Faith - the day will feature FULL ARMOR BAND. To

register or for more information about the day contact Marie

Mass beginning @ 5:30 pm.

175th Anniversary Meeting An organizational meeting for the 175th Anniversary of the parish will be held on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 5:30 pm in

Grotto Hall. Committee members and others interested in assisting are welcome.

Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) Meeting The PPC will meet on Tuesday March 31, 2015 in Grotto Hall at 6:30 pm. Meeting Agenda will be e-mailed to you and

focuses on ARISE and the Diocesan Parish Leadership Initiative. Please pick up your packets at the church entrance or from

the Parish Office (570-265-2113).

Overview: ARISE Together in Christ is a three-year, parish-centered process of spiritual renewal and

evangelization that enables people to deepen their faith, develop a closer relationship with Christ, grow in

community, and reach out in service to others. It emphasizes people living in good relationship with one an-

other, as they make concrete applications of the gospel to their life situations.

This program will fit in perfectly with our 175th Anniversary Celebrations

Season Three: In the Footsteps of Christ Fall 2016

First Annual Catholic Men’s Conference Set for April 25, 2015 The First Annual Catholic Men’s Conference for the Diocese of Scranton will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at

King’s College in Wilkes-Barre. The event will feature Fr. Larry Richards, author of the book “Be a Man,” and Damon Ow-

ens from the Theology of the Body Institute,

There will opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration, the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well as de-

votional prayers. Additionally, exhibitors will be present with a full array of Catholic books and publications as well as CDs

and ministry opportunities. Registration/Continental breakfast 7am, with Main Conference and Mass from 8am – 2:45 pm.

Fathers, sons, and grandsons and friends are all most welcome to register for the event. The Most Reverend Bishop

Joseph Bambera will join with participants throughout the day and will celebrate the closing Liturgy. The idea for this event

was initiated by laymen from various parishes, with the support of their pastors, in an effort to address challenging issues

facing men in today’s culture. Normal Conference Cost: $35, $30 early bird, $15 for students. Conference cost and bus transportation for SSPP

men/students who register prior to March 29, 2015 will be $15 total – after March 29th the Conference cost is $35 and

bus transportation is $20 (space available). Registration forms are at the entrance to the church – give completed forms

and check made out to Saints Peter & Paul Parish (memo: Men’s conference) to Matt Tavani ( 570-265-4555) or Greg Steele

(570-265-2369) or place a marked envelope in the collection basket or drop off in the Parish Office or give it to Fr. Ed.

Rice Bowl

Hungering for Peace

We journey with CRS Rice Bowl to Lebanon to be present

to a people who themselves are on a journey. Here we

meet a family of Syrian refugees, a family perhaps not so

unlike our own. We are challenged through our almsgiving

this week to reach out to those who are forced to flee their

homes, who are seeking shelter in a land of peace.

Deanery Lenten Penance Services start this Sunday, March 15

The dates and times for the Deanery Penance Services are listed below.

Traditionally six to seven priests from the Deanery will be here for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Fr. David Bechtel visits SSPP this and next weekend

Fr. Ed will be away the weekend of March 15, 2015, and

making a Cursillo the weekend of March 22, 2015. While

Fr. Ed is away, Fr. David Bechtel will be here to celebrate

the weekend liturgies; there will be no weekday Masses

from Friday, March 13 through Friday, March 20, 2015.

Fr. Bechtel is coming from Bishop Neumann High

School in Williamsport and has been here before. Please

welcome Fr. Bechtel to our parish.

Holy Week Altar Servers April 2-5, 2015

The parish is in need of altar servers during Holy Week:

Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil

with your parents as to when you are able to serve during

this period, and sign the yellow sheet at the entrance of

the church.

Living Stations of the Cross

The students from Saint Agnes School this Friday, March

20, 2015, at 1:30 and 7:00 pm will present Living Stations

of the Cross. Please pray and attend this spiritual devotion

with our young students.

Cursillo – Men’s March 19-22, 2015

Several men from our parish including Fr. Ed will be mak-

ing a Cursillo this coming weekend, please keep them and

the other participants in your prayers. Ask God to make

this a meaningful and significant experience in their lives.

Wednesday night Catholicism Series

There will be no Wednesday evening Mass, supper or

Catholicism Series program this Wednesday, March 18.

The Catholicism series by Fr. Robert Barron will

begin again next Wednesday, March 25 and again April 1

— after 5:30 pm evening Mass and light supper, Soup and

Salad/Sandwich, at approximately 6:45pm.
