From the Pastor:

The St. Rose of Lima Youth Ministry Golf Tournament

St. Rose of Lima Parish has always been privileged to serve

children and young adults from all of the 1500 households in

the parish community. Having our own professional, well

trained, pastoral staff is a very expensive venture but well worth

both the effort and the cost. In order to maintain the level of

care, service and Catholic formation, we began a Youth Ministry

Golf Tournament that provides funding for some current

expenses as well as saving for future needs!

I am asking all parents to take an interest in this year’s Golf

Tournament, scheduled for Tuesday, October 8th. I hope

golfers will sign-up early in order to “firm up,” the tournament

and welcome individuals, doubles and 25 four-some's to make

this event a great community celebration of love and sacrifice

for our children as well as children everywhere. Look for

additional information in the gathering space. ~Fr. Jim

Congratulations College Graduates We will be publishing names of parishioners who have

graduated from college in 2019, along with the college they

graduated from. Please drop the information in the collection

basket or email to: [email protected] by June 28th.

Thank you for your generous participation in this year’s Lenten

Rice Bowl project. The total donations: $1,738. Catholic

Relief Services provides assistance to people in need, without

regard to race, religion or nationality. St. Rose of Lima has been

actively supporting this project for the past 9 years. Your

generosity is greatly appreciated.

Keeping in touch….. Our beloved Sr. Joan McDermott has moved to a new location,

due to the closing of her communities healthcare center in

Leominster. We are sure she would love a note or a visit as she

settles into her new residence.

Pentecost Sunday

Through the Holy Spirit we come to know the risen Jesus. The apos-

tles received Jesus’ peace and ministry of forgiving sins. Family Faith on the Go

Fun activities about Pentecost for Families: Make a ribbon mobile for your house or child’s room. Each ribbon tied on

could represent a prayer or person for whom you are praying.

Make red, yellow and orange ribbon streamers to represent flames.

One of the significant parts of the Pentecost story is that people who spoke

different languages were able to understand one another. Take that idea and learn to say “I love you” in different languages. How many

can your family learn?

Susan McGoldrick at [email protected].

2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR Registrations for the 2019-2020 school year will soon be mailed. When

you receive your family’s registration, please complete and return it to

the Religious Education Office by Thursday, June 27th.

Your Participation is Needed

The Religious Education Program at St. Rose of Lima is a volunteer

program. It is dependent on one’s willingness to share their time, talent

and faith with our children.

Youth Trip to

Canobie Lake, June 19!

Once again this year we are

offering, free of charge, to our

altar servers, youth readers and

band members a trip to Canobie

Lake, in gratitude for their

dedicated ministry at St. Rose

of Lima. The date is Wednesday, June 19, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM.

Bus transportation, park admission (which includes all rides &

shows) and a basic lunch voucher will be paid for by your parish

community. All other youth parishioners or friends of our youth

ministers are welcome to attend for $25.00 (the cost of food and

admission), transportation will be covered by the parish.

Forms can be downloaded from the website

www.saintroseoflima.com

or picked up in the gathering space. Please arrive at St. Rose

of Lima for Mass at 8:30 AM. We will depart by bus shortly

after Mass, arriving back at St. Rose of Lima about 5:30 PM.

With summer upon us, it is a good

time to consider good stewardship

of our parish, especially when we are

away on vacations. It is during this

time that many repairs are done

around our facilities, staff is preparing

for programs that will begin in the fall, teens are on service

projects and of course, our annual Vacation Bible School is in

session. Obviously, your continued support is needed during

these months of summer!

Many of you are aware that you can give online through your

checking, debit or credit card accounts. It’s a simple, hassle-free

way of giving. It also benefits St. Rose, knowing what regular

income will be available each weekend helps us to pay our bills

on time. To sign up for online giving, simply go to our website:

www.saintroseoflima.com, click on “Online Giving,” the

WeShare logo and fill in the required information. Please let us

know if you have any difficulty signing up. And thank you for

your continued support.

Summer Office Hours

Parish Office: The Par ish office will be closing at Noon on

Fridays, for the summer starting May 31st.

Please plan accordingly.

St. Rose of Lima Thrift Shop: The St. Rose of Lima Thr ift

Shop will close on June 6th for the summer and will reopen

after Labor Day. Please do not leave any items at the door

as it creates a hazard.
