First Holy Communion May 4, 2014 11am Mass

The Blessed Mother

appeared for the 1st time to

three Portuguese children on

May 13, 1917. Europe was

on the grip of the First World

War. Only eight days before

the apparition, Pope

Benedict XV begged the

Blessed Mother to intercede

for the war’s end. During her

appearances, Mary predicted

the devastation of World

War II and the grave threat

posed by communist Russia.

Her message: reform your

lives and do penance for

your sins. Pray the rosary

every day.

On the Fourth Sunday of Easter, Catholics are invited to reflect on the meaning of God’s call

and to pray for vocations. Christ the Good Shepherd continues to lead His people

through his bishops, priests, deacons, and religious brothers and sisters. Let us pray for

the gift of courage to fulfill the Lord’s call.

Religious vocations need to be in the hearts and prayers of God’s people throughout the year.

We should each day, pray that God may continue to

inspire men to give their lives as His priests.

51st World Day of Prayer for Vocations

Good Shepherd Sunday, May 11

Jesus refers to Himself as “the gate for the sheep” in St.

John’s Gospel. Let us pray always that HE may send

laborers (priest, bishops) into his vineyard. May the

guiding hand of our Lord lead us to true happiness.

We are grateful to God for

the little children receiving

their first Communion today.

Special thanks to Mrs.

Loeffen, Mrs. Tac-Feetham

for their examples of faith

and encouragement.

St Therese Parish welcomes

Bishop Gerard Bergie to

confer the Sacrament of Con-

firmation on our candidates.

Special thanks to Mr.

Costantini, Mrs. Tac-Feetham,

the sponsors & families.

“Catch the Spirit” Student Award of Excellence

CATHOLIC Education Week May 4 -10, 2013 Serving in the love of Christ

This year the Student Trustees have requested that a province wide Mass be celebrated in all Catholic High Schools on May 7 to celebrate Catholic education and the faith that makes us one. It would also offer a prayer asking God to bless our schools, staff and students and protect Catholic education from all harm. Our Holy Father Pope Francis has sent a greeting to be read at all the Masses. Bishop Gerard Bergie will be celebrating Mass at St. Paul’s High School on that day.

Please continue to pray for our Catholic Schools, especially during

Catholic Education Week.
