If you follow us on Facebook, you’ve probably seen all of the beautiful pictures that we share on a daily basis. This inventory of photos has been compiled over the last 3 years thanks to the SRA Snapshots Contest that is back again for it’s 4th year! We run this contest through Facebook and it serves as a way for the Chamber to gather pho-tos to further promote the Sebastian River Area! It has proven to be wildly successful with entry numbers growing each year! The contest begins on December 1 and will run through February 7th. The winner of the contest receives a gift basket valued at $120 and is high-lighted at our Chamber Luncheon! Each year we pick a “theme” for our locals and visitors to use as a “criteria” for photos they sub-mit. In the past, we’ve highlighted “Recreational Activities”, “Sebastian’s Working Waterfront”, and even an “On the Land” theme!
This year’s theme focuses on “The Colors of Sebastian.” We want to capture the GOLDEN sunrises, the BLUE oceans and waterways, the GREEN foliage, and the ORANGE sunsets and citrus. Even WHITE egrets and ibis, GREY dol-phins and manatees, PINK roseate spoonbills and BROWN pelicans. The possibilities are end-less and we look forward to seeing the full spec-trum of colors to come! To participate or to check out all the great photos that come in, stay tuned to our official Facebook fan page: www.facebook.com/SebastianChamberVisitorsCenter Event rules and regulations will be available in the Chamber office and on Facebook. As always, call 589-5969 for even more information! * Kudos to Marie of Capt. Hiram’s for the idea for this year’s theme! *

Sebastian Vacation Rentals
Opens New Location! The renovation was a success and we are ready for visitors!
Stop by to preview our rental office and giftique.
At Sebastian Vacation Rentals our mission is to successfully match travelers from around the world
with privately-owned accommodations in and around Sebastian, Florida.
Whether they are staying the week or the winter, traveling from Australia or Orlando, we can help
them find the perfect place to relax.
It’s not just about season. We offer temporary housing year round, with single family homes available
at a minimum of one week. For the weekend staycationers, our waterfront condominiums are available
for two nights or more.
Our beautiful properties are high quality residences. They are located on the waterfront, in the com-
munity, with or without pools, and with pricing to match any budget. A full description of each prop-
erty, along with a high definition video tour, is available on our web site.
Short term and extended stay accommodations are not just for the vacationers. We assist insurance
companies with homeowners that have been displaced due to floods or fire. We can provide a tempo-
rary residence for couples moving to the area that are having a new home built, or employees on tem-
porary assignments. These are just a few examples of the housing solutions we can provide.
Once our guests are settled in we want to send them your way – for dinner or maybe a river cruise –
the ideas are endless. Contact us if you think there is an opportunity for us to work together. Our joint
excursion packages can be promoted in our office.
Let's work together to welcome tourists to the Sebastian area and to help them enjoy everything we
have to offer.

Membership Matters By Debbie Lloyd-Lee
Networking can be fun and easy with Sebas-tian Chamber Membership! There are many ways to network and get to know other Busi-ness owners and staff. My favorite is our Business to Business Dis-count Program! It’s really easy to use, let me tell you how! Simply call our office, let us know what sort of discount you would like to offer, and we will print it in our B2B Booklet. It’s that simple! The Business to Business Booklet is updated every three months with new members and new discounts, and comes to you inside our Monthly Newsletter. We all do business in town, whether you’re shopping in one of our shops, having work done on your car, having a new roof put on, or just having lunch at one of our great area res-taurants! The possibilities are endless! Not only will you save money on your pur-chases with other Chamber Members, you will meet customers that you didn’t have before! A small discount can go a long way to push that prospective customer over the edge… into your store or business! If you have never participated in our Business to Business Discount Program you don’t know what you’ve been missing! Give me a call, let’s talk about it! See you around town! Debbie

Before we go off into 2014, with resolutions and goal setting, a brief review of the year 2013 is in or-
der. We are very proud of the accomplishments achieved in 2013 and want to share them with you!
Our Concert in the Park Series will be in its 15th year in January, but this was the year
that we blew all records for attendance. In fact we were averaging 1,000—1,500 people in
January and February, and needed to call in some back help!
The Chamber Golf Tournament, after 18 years, was finally sold out! Thank you golfers!
We learned what ‘flyboarding” is, with one of our new members, Flyboard Sebastian;
We launched our new renovated website, SebastianChamber.com, thank you
Blue Tangerine!
The Chamber launched a new travel program with Chamber Explorations, and sent visi-
tors to Cuba and Tuscany, with Ireland coming up in 2014!
We made room in our Visitor’s Center for a phenomenal exhibit from Pelican Island!
The Chamber Board supported the reduction of the speed limit on US One, thank you to
the Sebastian City Council, the FDOT and Debbie Mayfield;
We created a new way to communicate with you our members, with our weekly Chamber
Intel, supported by Constant Contact;
We welcomed elephants to Fellsmere!
We created two new Chamber awards for Entrepreneur of the year, and Best Renova-
tions, received by John Conway and the two nuts and a clam at the Tiki Bar;
The Chamber educated our members on the Affordable Healthcare Act (as best as we
could), thank you Kim Ellis Insurance Agency;
We promoted the City of Sebastian with a major marketing effort through AARP;
The Board launched new efforts towards renovating the Chamber building;
Chamber staff brought the Business Directory in house creating a wildly successful
project;
And we responded to thousands of visitors coming into the area!
We have a lot more in store for 2014!
In this newsletter you will find an insert that promotes “Shop Indian River County”. Please post this
in a prominent place to remind all of your customers and clients how important it is to keep it local!
We’re having breakfast at Kashi this month, and lunch at Disney Vero Beach Resort with our
annual volunteer appreciation awards, come join us for holiday spirit! It’s hard to believe that this
year marks 25 years of Light Up Night, a true Sebastian tradition. Look forward to seeing you out
at our businesses!
Happy Holidays, and have a prosperous month!
