Un Mensaje de Nuestro Pastor
¡Feliz Navidad a todos!
Esta es la úl ma vez de este año que puedo saludarles así. Espero que haya sido un momento de alegría y gran paz para todos, al terminar la temporada navideña y volver al Tiempo Ordinario, este momento que Dios nos ha dado "para cumplir con toda jus cia" nuestros deberes y vivir como hijos amados de Dios ahora, para ser dignos de estar con Dios en el cielo eternamente. ¡Gracias por comenzar bien el año nuevo conmigo!
Los programas de formación en la fe comienzan de nuevo. Nosotros, como discípulos de Cristo, debemos con nuar demostrando que "quien le teme y actúa con rec tud es aceptable para El". Entonces, es nuestro trabajo ayudarnos mutua-mente con eso. Este bole n ene el primero de 2 informes para todos ustedes acerca de cómo lo estamos haciendo. El Consejo Asesor de Formación de Fe también dará un informe cuando los programas terminan en la primavera.
¿Qué opinan de estos números? ¿les sorprenden? ellos no mienten, pero tampoco cuentan toda la historia. Una historia que quiero aprender es por qué el número de niños que buscan la Confir-mación generalmente es menos de la mitad de los que reciben la Primera Comunión, a pesar de que tenemos más jóvenes en formación de fe que hace algún empo. Sabemos que la gente regresa (Confirmación de Adultos). ¡Gracias a todos, espe-cialmente a todos nuestros generosos voluntarios! - que dan la bienvenida a las cañas magulladas y las mechas húmedas y las calientan con su amor para redescubrir que Dios nos ama a todos.

A Message from our Pastor
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope it’s been a me of joy and great peace for everyone, as we end the Christmas season and get back into Ordinary Time, this moment that God has given us “to fulfill all righteousness,” to live as God’s beloved children now and so be found worthy to be with God in heaven eternally. Thank you for star ng the new year well with me!
Faith forma on programs are star ng up again. We, as Christ’s disciples, must con nue to show that “whoever fears him and acts uprightly is acceptable to him.” So, it’s our job to help each other with that. In this bulle n is the 1st of 2 reports for y’all about how we’re doing that. The Faith Forma on Advisory Board will also give a report when programs finish in the spring.
What do you think of these numbers? Any surprises? Numbers don’t lie but they also don’t tell the whole story. One story I want to learn is why the number of kids seeking Confirma on is usually less than half those who receive 1st Communion, even though we’ve got more youth in faith forma on than in quite awhile. We know people come back (adult Confirma-
on). Thank you everyone- especially all our generous volunteers!- who welcome the bruised reeds and smoldering wicks and warm them with your love to rediscover that God loves us all.

MLK MASS OF REMEMBRANCE The Annual Archdiocesan MLK Mass of Remembrance honoring the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place on Sunday, January 19 at 3:00 p.m. at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart,1111 St. Joseph Pkwy. in downtown Houston. All are welcome to attend.
