“Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try

him: so We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight.

We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests

on his will).”

desires, without having any knowledge (of the truth). And who

true] faith, turning away from all that is false, in

“Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they

change it themselves (within their own souls/selves).”

As children of Adam, we were created with a noble destiny As children of Adam, we were created with a noble destiny

capable of surpassing even the angels. Yet, Allah’s Plan and Justice capable of surpassing even the angels. Yet, Allah’s Plan and Justice

Yet, mankind must learnt from the Adamic (Yet, mankind must learnt from the Adamic (FITwRAHFITwRAH) innocence ) innocence

Much has to learnt from the narration of the Qur’an regarding the Much has to learnt from the narration of the Qur’an regarding the

story of the fall from grace of Adam (‘story of the fall from grace of Adam (‘alayhis-salamalayhis-salam) due to the ) due to the

enmity of Iblis (enmity of Iblis (la’-natullaahi ‘alayla’-natullaahi ‘alay) towards him and towards all of ) towards him and towards all of

his descendants. Many may have overlooked or ignored the Adamic his descendants. Many may have overlooked or ignored the Adamic

Amongst the guidance from Allah, apart from showing the Amongst the guidance from Allah, apart from showing the

““O you who have attained to faith! Surrender yourselves O you who have attained to faith! Surrender yourselves

wholly unto Allah, and follow not Satan's footsteps, for, wholly unto Allah, and follow not Satan's footsteps, for,

verily, he is your open foe.”verily, he is your open foe.”

2. In the Holy Qur’an, mankind is being reminded of their origin

and the relevant incident which may still affect them, even

today. So we are to learn from it.

““Said [Iblis]: "Grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be Said [Iblis]: "Grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be

been unaware; and he said: "Your Sustainer has but forbidden you been unaware; and he said: "Your Sustainer has but forbidden you

“And he (Iblis) swore unto them, "Verily, I am of those who wish

you well indeed!"”

as soon as the two had tasted [the fruit] of the tree, as soon as the two had tasted [the fruit] of the tree, they they

ourselves -and unless Thou grant us forgiveness and bestow Thy ourselves -and unless Thou grant us forgiveness and bestow Thy

WA-TAR-HAM-NAA – LANAKUU-NAN-NA – MINAL- KHO-SI-REEN**

““Said He (Allah): "Down with you, [and be henceforth] enemies Said He (Allah): "Down with you, [and be henceforth] enemies

unto one another, having on earth your abode and livelihood for a unto one another, having on earth your abode and livelihood for a

while : there shall you live" - He added - "and there shall you die, while : there shall you live" - He added - "and there shall you die,

and thence shall you be brought forth [on Resurrection Day]!"and thence shall you be brought forth [on Resurrection Day]!"



“O CHILDREN of Adam! Indeed, We have bestowed upon you from on

high [the knowledge of making] garments to cover your nakedness,

and as a thing of beauty: but the garment of Allah – TAQWA:

consciousness (and fear of Allah) is the best of all. Herein lies a

message from Allah, so that man might take it to heart."

“O CHILDREN of Adam! Do not allow Satan to seduce you in

the same way as he caused your ancestors to be driven out

of the garden: he deprived them of their garment [TAQWA -

of God-consciousness] in order to make them aware of their

nakedness. Verily, he and his tribe are lying in wait for you

where you cannot perceive them! Verily, We have placed

[all manner of] satanic forces near unto those who do not

[truly] believe;"

privacy and our shortcomings, whereas he and his kind spy upon privacy and our shortcomings, whereas he and his kind spy upon

us from places which we are unable to see them.us from places which we are unable to see them.

O Allah! Disappoint their hopes towards us, just as You have made O Allah! Disappoint their hopes towards us, just as You have made

them disappointed in hoping to get Your Blessings.them disappointed in hoping to get Your Blessings.

Make them despair (in attaining their plans) towards us, just as Make them despair (in attaining their plans) towards us, just as

You made them despair from seeking Your Forgiveness.You made them despair from seeking Your Forgiveness.

Keep them away (distance) from us, just as You made them to be Keep them away (distance) from us, just as You made them to be

far-away (distance) from Your Paradise.far-away (distance) from Your Paradise.

Verily, You (O Allah) is Most Powerful over everything.”Verily, You (O Allah) is Most Powerful over everything.”


“... and [so,] whenever they commit a shameful deed, they are wont

to say, "We found our forefathers doing it," and, “Allah has enjoined

it upon us." Say: "Behold, never does Allah enjoin deeds of

abomination. Would you attribute unto Allah something of which

you have no knowledge?”



“Say: "My Sustainer has [but] enjoined the doing of what is right (QISTw) ;

and [He desires you to] put your whole being into every act of worship,

and to call unto Him, sincere in your faith in Him alone. As it was He who

brought you into being in the first instance, so also [unto Him] you will

return:”



““... some [of you] He will have graced with His guidance, whereas, for some ... some [of you] He will have graced with His guidance, whereas, for some

a straying from the right path will have become unavoidable: for, behold, a straying from the right path will have become unavoidable: for, behold,

they will have they will have taken [their own] evil impulses for their masters taken [their own] evil impulses for their masters in preference in preference

to Allah, thinking all the while that they have found the right path!”to Allah, thinking all the while that they have found the right path!”

Much can be learnt from the above revelation. That Allah’s justice Much can be learnt from the above revelation. That Allah’s justice

is for all of His creatures. But to ensure that mankind is not deceived, is for all of His creatures. But to ensure that mankind is not deceived,

the guidance also exposes these other factors which seek the the guidance also exposes these other factors which seek the

downfall of man. downfall of man.

Yet, Allah assures us that these malevolent force has no control Yet, Allah assures us that these malevolent force has no control

over man unless man allows themselves to be seduced. Although over man unless man allows themselves to be seduced. Although

there may be incitement, yet man be responsible himself since they there may be incitement, yet man be responsible himself since they

are amply equipped with faculties which are quite capable of are amply equipped with faculties which are quite capable of

propelling him towards the exalted state. propelling him towards the exalted state.


Although temptations may come from others, yet it is up to

mankind himself to decide. Allah tells us that Satan will absolve Allah tells us that Satan will absolve

themselves from responsibility for man’s own wickedness: themselves from responsibility for man’s own wickedness:


“ “ And when everything will have been decided, Satan will say: And when everything will have been decided, Satan will say:

"Behold, Allah promised you something that was bound to "Behold, Allah promised you something that was bound to

come true! I, too, held out [all manner of ] promises to you -come true! I, too, held out [all manner of ] promises to you -

but I deceived you. Yet I had no power at all over you: I but but I deceived you. Yet I had no power at all over you: I but

called you-and you responded unto me. Hence, blame not me, called you-and you responded unto me. Hence, blame not me,

but blame yourselves.”but blame yourselves.”

Although temptations may come from others, yet it is up to

Allah’s mercyAllah’s mercy: behold, Allah forgives all sins - for, verily, : behold, Allah forgives all sins - for, verily,

He alone is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace!’ “He alone is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace!’ “

“O you who have attained to faith! Turn unto Allah in

sincere repentance: it may well be that your Sustainer will

efface from you your bad deeds, and will admit you into

gardens through which running waters flow, on a Day on

which Allah will not shame the Prophet and those who

share his faith: their light will spread rapidly before them,

and on their right; [and] they will pray: "O our Sustainer!

Cause this our light to shine for us forever, and forgive us

our sins: for, verily, Thou hast the power to will anything!“

(Qur’an: Tahrim: 66: 8)

righteous deedsrighteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds Allah will : for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds Allah will

dispenser of grace, and seeing that he who repents and [thenceforth] does dispenser of grace, and seeing that he who repents and [thenceforth] does

what is right has truly turned unto Allah by [this very act of] repentance.“what is right has truly turned unto Allah by [this very act of] repentance.“

Neither (can any) draw closer those whom You cast,Neither (can any) draw closer those whom You cast,

nor (can any) be cast those whom You draw closernor (can any) be cast those whom You draw closer


O Allah! Bestow upon us from Your blessings, O Allah! Bestow upon us from Your blessings,

and Your mercy, and Your grace and Your and Your mercy, and Your grace and Your

provisions.provisions.


O Allah! I ask You for the eternal delight (favours) O Allah! I ask You for the eternal delight (favours)

that never ends nor fades away.that never ends nor fades away.


O Allah! I ask You for provisions (favours) O Allah! I ask You for provisions (favours)

on the Day of deprivation (Hereafter), on the Day of deprivation (Hereafter),

and the safety on the Day of fear (Judgement Day).and the safety on the Day of fear (Judgement Day).


O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the evil O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the evil

repercussions of what You have given us and repercussions of what You have given us and

from the evil of what You have deprived us of.from the evil of what You have deprived us of.
