SAINT EUGENE CATHOLIC CHURCH WENDELL, NC
Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
(Deuteronomy 4:32-34, 39-40; Romans 8:14-17, Matthew 28:16-20)
My wife and I have used the same baptismal gown for all 3 of our children. It is a very long traditional gown made with fabric taken from my wife's first communion dress and my mother-in-
law's wedding gown. It is a symbol not just of each child being washed clean by the sacrament, but also of family and how faith has been passed down through generations. Faith is a gift and that gown shows how this family has taken seriously the cultivation of that faith and the sharing of it with those we love the most.
By our baptism we are called to a discipleship that compels us to share our faith with others. It is not always easy, but it would be wrong to horde that faith and not let it shine for others to see. When we think about a stewardship way of life, we sometimes focus on material goods, our talents and skills, or our time. But faith is a gift that needs to be treated in a similar way. We are heirs with Jesus Christ to this rich tapestry of faith and the Church. If all of us were to hide that faith and not seek to share it with others, that lineage would end with us.
We live during a time in history where in some lands people are finding Jesus in huge numbers, while in other places the numbers of people in the pews is declining sharply. We can spend all our time talking about these realities or we can choose to respond to our baptismal call. Jesus commanded us to go forth and make disciples of all nations. Maybe we can begin with our neighbor. --Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS
QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK First Reading ~ Moses recounts to the Israelites, just prior to their entry into the Promised Land, all the miraculous work done by God that they witnessed. Why do you think Moses placed such a high premium on remembering their story?
Second Reading ~ Paul speaks to the believers in the city of Rome, "who are led by the Spirit," as being "joint heirs with Christ" as children of God. In what way do you find hope in this message from Paul?
Gospel Reading ~ Jesus' final command to the disciples before his ascension is to baptize all the nations "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." How do you see the Church being faithful to this command?
Meditación Evangélico Gospel Meditation
Solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad
(Deuteronomio 4:32-24, 39-40; Romanos 8:14-17; Mateo 28:16-20)
Stewardship of Treasure Living The Liturgy ~ Vivir La Liturgia
THE BLESSED TRINITY SOURCE OF OUR LIFE AND OUR JOY
The Blessed Trinity is the loftiest and most fundamental mystery of our faith. We believe in one God who is a “family of persons”
bound together by the most perfect love: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We profess our faith in the Blessed Trinity when we recite the Creed, pray the “Glory be,” and make the Sign of the Cross. But our best profession of faith should be the way we live. Indeed, all our life should be a response of love to the God who is our FATHER, BROTHER, and FRIEND.
Our concentration on the three Divine Persons does not divert our attention from our neighbor. It actually grounds our love for all our brothers and sisters, for each human being is a reflection of the Blessed Trinity. In our Eucharistic celebration, let us ask for the grace to live out this wonderful truth.

“The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…” - ROMANS 8:16-17
If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, shouldn’t we work to build up His kingdom? Shouldn’t we be good stewards of our
inheritance, using our time in prayer, our talent in charitable works and our treasure to care for the Church that God has left to us? Our
Church is a treasured heirloom from God. Do we treat it that way?
