Dear Parishioners and Friends, Peace and Blessings! It is wonderful to welcome you all back to Mass. While attendance is still low, each week we see a few more returning. We had our irst in person Parish Council meeting on June 16th. It was good to get back together again and to begin planning for the coming year. To begin, please mark your calendars. We are looking to have a “Reunion” dinner to welcome all back. It will be on October 3rd and will be a free potluck dinner. More details will be coming, but please reserve that date on your calendar. It will be a Sunday after-noon here at the parish. Our Tuesday Spanish Prayer Group will begin once again on August 3rd under the leadership of Deacon Alejandro and Deacon Angel. Thank you to all who have served as leaders in the past. When Jesus came, he came to tell us the Good News. And the Good News is that God loves us. And we be-come one with Jesus. And ultimately God says to us, “I am with you now, here, all days, even to the end of the world.” So, do not be afraid, Jairus. Do not be afraid, any one of us, for Jesus is with us, and the Father is with us, and the Spirit — we walk through life with the Holy Trinity.

In His Peace,

Queridos Feligreses y Amigos, ¡Paz y bendiciones! Entonces, no ten-gas miedo, Jairo.

Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the

Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive

You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Why did the Pope declare a year of St. Joseph?

Pope Francis noted that this year marks the 150th anniversary of the saint’s proclama on as patron of the Universal Church by

Pope Pius IX on Dec. 8, 1870. Pope Francis said the coronavirus pandemic has heightened his desire to reflect on St. Joseph, as so many people during the pandemic have made hidden sacrifices to protect others, just as St. Joseph quietly protected and cared for

Mary and Jesus. “Each of us can discover in Joseph -- the man who goes unno ced, a daily, discreet and hidden presence -- an inter-

cessor, a support and a guide in mes of trouble,” the pope wrote. He also said he wanted to highlight St. Joseph’s role as a father who served his family with charity and humility, adding, “Our

world today needs fathers.
